Jenny Cooke (Bookish Shenanigans) | 24 comments So here's where we can organise reading this great Russian classic and discuss our thoughts. I don't mind when we read it as long as it's not January or February.

message 3: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Cooke (Bookish Shenanigans) | 24 comments I have honestly owned this for about a decade when I was a pretentious teenager and asked for it for Christmas and then proceeded to predicably not read it. I am so excited to read it and not feel guilt anymore!

message 41: by allieereads (new)

allieereads | 10 comments Should we maybe create a sort of reading schedule for March? Is March the month we’re starting this? Does that work for everyone? Xx

message 42: by Kylie (new)

Kylie (avidreader217) | 6 comments Agreed, we should have a reading schedule for March and maybe the month after

message 43: by allieereads (last edited Jan 19, 2020 07:55PM) (new)

allieereads | 10 comments ok. Maybe we should split the book in terms of parts? how about 10 days per Part? For instance, in my copy, Part One is approx. 227 pages..so most of the Parts are around 200 or so pages. Or if we think we can read more in a shorter amount of time, we can reconfigure the schedule!

So, if we were to start reading on the first of March:

March 1-10: Part One
March 11- 20: Part Two
March 21-30: Part Three
March 31- April 9: Part Four
April 10-19: Part Five
April 20-29: Part Six
April 29- May 8: Part Seven
May 9-18: Part Eight

If we want to do shorter reading periods, we can just quickly re-do the schedule but we should do so soon so we can lock it in for all of us!

if i've made a mistake, i'm so sorry!
xx

Personally, I prefer the longer reading periods as it is much less pressure and therefore a more enjoyable reading experience. The schedule is perfect as it is
