If it is this series, I would suggest not reading the last book. It totally sucked. The author ended everything on a very depressing note.

Stephen (swynn68) | 70 comments Dan Wells's "Partials" series beginning with is set in a dystopia where humanity has gone barren, in the sense that pregnancies no longer go to term or that babies die soon after birth. I don't recall fertile women being held in captivity, but all women are forced to have as many pregnancies as possible. It does have a female protagonist.
