That one could check a lot of different boxes!

Margo | 11684 comments Yes, I orinally had it against another task, there are a few fantasy options this time round :-D I bought the first 3 titles in a few different series in a sale last year based of the sample narration (maybe not the wisest move :-/) so I'm happy to be able to work a few in!

Also found Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats, #1) by Sebastien de Castell .

Which task are you thinking about for Traitor's Blade? The high or epic fantasy? Or sword on cover? It won't work for the cover task because you need a magnifying glass to see it. Now if there was a task for someone wearing a cape, this would be a dead ringer.

message 7: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11684 comments Sorry I wasn't clearer. I was actually referring to the previous post by Beth.

I am gutted to learn that Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats, #1) by Sebastien de Castell won't work for the sword task! On the audiobook it's very clear that he's holding two swords but thy word is law oh Janice ;-p I have plenty to choose from anyway :-)

message 8: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60157 comments Sorry Margo - but the swords need to be prominent. What is prominent about that cover? The cape. The swords are tiny in comparison.

message 9: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11684 comments No worries 😀

Janice (jamasc) | 60157 comments Entertainment - Yah requires a book set between 1760 and 1820.

All the books in Detective Lavender Mysteries are set between 1808 and 1812.

Beth (eparks4232) | 2562 comments I just used Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe for card 30 3 Yay (universe in title), but it also would count card 11 science 5 Nay with a truck on the cover, and card 20 entertainment 2 Nay (set in 1980s). If you do audible, Lin Manuel Miranda does the narration!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments If you are looking for a book for Art/Literature-Yay (The Book is set in Illinois.), I can definitely recommend Storm Front.
Watch out though, I cannot be responsible for you adding a new series to your reading list. The setting is in a 21st century alternate reality Chicago, Illinois, where magic is practiced and the paranormal live among the humans.
Harry Dresden is a Wizard P.I. He is owned by a 30 pound gray cat he named Mister. He owns a human skull inhabited by a spirit, he calls Bob.
That is all I can tell you so far. I am only half way through the book. I looked up the series today (16 books so far and #17 due out in September 2020) and added it to my series list.

Yay task - book set between 1760 and 1820

Would Sense and Sensibility work here? It was published in 1811 and, according to Wikipedia, set 1791 - 1797. This date set info has a reference.
Thanks!

I read Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence last year and found it fascinating! I even thought of rereading it for this challenge because I liked it so much
