Ooh, good thought. I have 2 April tasks.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments The great San Francisco earth quake of 1906 took place in April too.
I have both of the April tasks, so you can check out the books I have posted in my thread. I have 8 books listed with "April in the title" under card 1. I also have April & Oliver and Remembering April under other tasks.

As for "set in the month of April", I have The Cruelest Month

♞ Pat Gent | 629 comments Ok. So I'm still trying to work in a Trilogy task and it turns out that my most recent read

Finding Billy Battles

is the first book in the Billy Battles trilogy. It's not listed as such in the title, but in the blurb, the following appears ...

Complying with Billy's last request, the great-grandson assembles the journals into a compelling trilogy that reveals a man often trapped and overwhelmed by circumstances beyond his control, but who nevertheless manages to persevere for ten decades.

and in the author information it lists ...

Ronald E. Yates is an award-winning author of historical fiction and action/adventure novels, including the popular and award-winning Finding Billy Battles trilogy.

The full list is Billy Battles so you can see that books 2 & 3 are listed as the trilogy while the first book is not.

Will you accept it as the Trilogy task for Task 2 even though it's not specifically marked?

I've read The Android's Dream

I used this one for the task, Margo.
The Road to Little Dribbling Adventures of an American in Britain by Bill Bryson I liked it very much.

I also had this one on my list. Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann I thought it looked ok.

There is also the Discworld book The Wee Free Men (Discworld, #30; Tiffany Aching, #1) by Terry Pratchett

message 71: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11684 comments I really like the sound of The Road to Little Dribbling: Adventures of an American in Britain but it is possibly the only Bryson my library doesn't have! Is it credit-worthy, I don't know but in a pinch LOL

The Wee Free Men is inspired thinking and a reread could well be in order!

I found this in my library since I posted, Sheepish Two Women, Fifty Sheep, and Enough Wool to Save the Planet by Catherine Friend and it might be interesting, not sure.

Thanks Cherie, you've given me some great options 😊

message 72: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4058 comments I have Evans Above (Constable Evan Mystery, #1) by Rhys Bowen down for that task. It's a good cozy mystery.

message 73: by Shirley (new)

Shirley | 1518 comments Margo wrote: "Anyone got a recommendation for Science - Yay Task - There is one or more sheep on the cover.

For this task, I read Died in the Wool (Roderick Alleyn, #13) by Ngaio Marsh . It's an Agatha Christie style mystery set in New Zealand. Not all editions have a sheep on the cover though.

message 74: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11684 comments Lanelle and Shirley, two more books that my library doesn't have! The only books they do have with sheep on are kiddy ones.

While I was searching I found a book with a Rhys Bowen book, The Edge of Dreams, with a steam train on is, buffing steam. I know that's needed for another task. Searched through all the editions on GR and they don't have it. Thishappens to me regularly. I think it must EU vs US covers.

message 75: by Cherie (last edited May 11, 2020 10:32AM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Margo - I just saw Lucy's post with this book for sheep on the cover. A Wild Sheep Chase A Wild Sheep Chase (The Rat, #3) by Haruki Murakami . I cannot find the exact same cover she used though.

message 76: by Lucy (new)

Lucy Furr (lucyfurr) | 775 comments My library audiobook seems to be the only one with the cover it had. I had to get a page made on goodreads for it.

A Wild Sheep Chase (The Rat, #3) by Haruki Murakami this is the edition.

I was going to recommend it for the task, but after reading it I decided not to. I only gave it 2 stars, it's by far my least favorite Murakami read so far.

message 77: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11684 comments My library doesn't have that one either, but thanks guys.

Lucy, how do you go about getting a page made on GR for a cover?

Camilla | 2118 comments Margo wrote: "Lucy, how do you go about getting a page made on GR for a cover?"

I'm not Lucy, but I'll answer anyway. It depends on whether it's a new edition with an ISBN/ASIN not already on GR or whether it's an alternate copy edition (i.e. the ISBN/ASIN is being reused with a different cover).

If new edition: you can either add the edition yourself by using the "Add a new edition" button on the book's page, or you can ask for the book to be added in the GR Librarians group "Adding new books" folder https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

If alternate copy edition: ask it to be added in the librarian group, we have accesss to a separate "add a alternate cover edition" button, which automatically moves the ISBN/ASIN to the newer version.

There are several GR librarians in YLTO as well, but I don't think we have a dedicated thread for asking for a librarian's help, or do we, Janice?

No, we don't. It probably would be a good addition. If you'd like to set one up, put it in the "Chit Chat about Books" folder.

This is a great idea, Camilla. There have been a few times where I have seen a error about a book's information and I didn't know who to contact to have it fixed.

Thank for answering Camillia. Life got in the way for me. But, yes, Margo, I usually just add the new edition myself.

Anne ✨ Finds Joy (annefindsjoy) | 800 comments Did anybody find a good book for task Science: Nay - The theme is cloning.

I came across The Ghost Brigades, by John Scaldi but it's #2 in series, so thinking I'd need to read Old Man's War first...
The Ghost Brigades The Ghost Brigades are the Special Forces of the Colonial Defense Forces, elite troops created from the DNA of the dead and turned into the perfect soldiers for the CDF's toughest operations.

Any other good cloning stories to consider?

So far, only one person has completed that task and she read Brave New World.

I've read Never Let Me Go. Even though it was years ago that I read it, it left an impact. I also read Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang. I don't remember much about this book.

It's funny, I can never remember the title for Never Let Me Go, but I remember the story. The other book, I can't remember the story, but the title is unforgettable.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh, my gosh, Anne. You must listen to The Android's Dream for this task! There is a disgusting scene in the beginning, but it is funny, once you get over it. There will not be any connection for a long while, but you will get it before the ending. It is perfect for the task. You can read it if you want, but Wil Wheaton is not to be missed as a narrator, IMO.

I totally agree with you Cherie! I have listened to that book and LOVED both the story and the audio narration!!! Maybe I should just do a re-read LOL :)

message 91: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Anne - when I saw your question, I didn’t think to look and see if you had read it yet. 😛
If I had not listened to it so many times, I might have used it for the sheep task.

Clone
Clone by Priya Sarukkai Chabria
Kindle has it for like $5 - but for some reason I had to buy it through my amazon app and not my kindle app.
