I vaguely remember this book about a girl who goes to spelling bees and during one of the bees, she realizes she can read minds and so has her family or someone think out the words for her so she can get them right. something like that. does anyone know what book this is??

The Trouble with Jenny's Ear. One of my favorite books of all time!!! Although, the way I remember it, she gets konked on the head or something, and begins hearing what everyone is thinking, and the climax (end) of the book is a big spelling bee where she is listening to how to spell the words from judges (and others, *cough*).

A newer book exploring a similar theme is Bee Season. It kind of gets into jewish mysticism at some point though. Weird.
