Synopsis

The last thing Laken Stewart remembers is the oncoming car, then bursting through the windshield.
Two months dissolve without her knowledge and she finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings with strangers who not only profess to know her but insist she’s someone else entirely.
Laken discovers her long dead boyfriend, Wesley, has been thrown into this alternate world as well. He is quick to inform her she suffered a horrible fall and that her memory hasn’t fully returned. According to Wesley the other life she had—her name, her family, they were simply a side effect of her brain trauma.
In her quest for answers she meets Cooper Flanders, the son of her psychiatrist who readily believes every word she says.
Laken Stewart knows she died on that hot July afternoon, but now she’s alive—or is she?

I can say one thing....I have never read anything like it. What an exceptional book. It was so different that it was perfect. A mix of everything, romance, vampires, zombies, fantasy and more. I would have given it 5 stars....but in some parts the author got a little wordy at telling things.

Exclusive! by Fiona Hood-Stewart Jackie Braun Sharon Kendrick

rating : 3 stars

This one was good romance read. This book had three stories that each had to do with stars or celebrity's and how that effected their relationship. There are also other issue to of course. The first one is Hollywood life or royal wife by hood-Stewart. This one was very sweet. It was about the difficulties of falling in love with a prince when you are a star and not a blue blood. the second is marriage scandal showbiz baby! by Sharon Kendrick. this one seem the most realistic of all three. It is about two stars who just broke up but have to be at a premiere for their movie. The last is sex lies and security tape by Jackie brown. This one was my least favorite but still solid story. it is about a want to be politician who use to be a star. He is caught with a wild actress and their is some fallout.

Review to come: I loved this book. Posy Roberts is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors. Her realistic fiction always leaves me in tears but happy. She has outdone herself with this book. We are introduced to Beck who is dealing with the grief, guilt and death of his partner of 11 years. Beck has to get back to himself, but doesn't know how to since the past 11 years have been about Brady. Timothy has been Beck's friend from just as long as him being with Brady. He's just been that though, a friend someone who Beck has been able to lean on, call to, cry in front of and more. Timothy wants more, but he isn't going to push Beck knowing Beck his dealing with such grief, and guilt over Brady's death. I truly did love this book.

This book was great! I'm a huge fan of Ms. Phoenix's Maker's Song books and this had a similar feel. At least in regards to the setting, the Creole vibe, and the interesting and odd characters. The last half had me glued to the story. This wasn't as dark as her other series either. I'll be reading book 2 pretty soon. I have to know what's happening!!

Review:
I was a little skeptical about reading from Mateo's POV...I didn't need to be! This was just as good as the first one. It's not my favorite KH series but then again I don't read a lot of CR for the most part. The concept is still a little hard to swallow but Mrs. Halle pulls it off regardless. I was sold more on Mateo after reading this book and can I just say his ex is a total be-yatch!!!!

Despite a traumatic childhood in Cold Creek, Ohio, the Lockwood sisters have reunited there for the wedding of youngest sister Tess to the town's sheriff. Maid of honor Kate Lockwood is determined to break through best man Grant Mason's defences. An anthropologist, Kate makes her living studying the dead. She is particularly interested in the prehistoric Adena civilization that once called the area home. A large burial mound sits on Mason family land, and Kate wants permission to excavate. But Grant refuses and tells Kate to stay away from the mound.

Kate respects Grant's desire to honor his grandfather's belief that the dead should not be disturbed. However, the more she researches the more it becomes clear that Grant is hiding something. When one of Grant's friends is killed—and the sheriff is away on his honeymoon—the couple joins forces to assist the deputy in the investigation.

When Kate comes under attack she is certain it is connected to the burial mound. Grant seems concerned for Kate's safety, but despite their explosive attraction she can't help but be suspicious of his motives. Can Kate trust the man she's come to love, or will the wrong decision be her final act?

I'm liking to this trilogy....looking forward to book 3, BROKEN BONDS. They are fast past, full of mystery, suspense and sweet romance. FORBBIDEN GROUND had a lot of history about prehistoric Adena civilization which was interesting.

Review: This is one of my favorite shifter books of all time. I mean Bobby Ray Smith is amazing. I love his personality, his laid back charm. He is the perfect guy. Shelly Laurenston is one of my go to authors for comforts, interracial romance, and comedy. I love how her women characters, are all of different ethnicity. They are strong women like Jessie Ann. She overcame the small town mind set and became a billionaire in her own way. I loved seeing these two come together.

Review: I was so interested in this series. I read book 1 last night and immediately went into book 2 this morning. I liked this book way more than book 1. Seriously I wanted this to be much longer, I kinda need an epilogue. She just leaves us with an acceptable ending and bam that's it. I liked Christian the last book, he was the supporting friend who was carefree and happy. This book was different for me, I never read m/f/m. Well the female Mila made a big ass mistake she introduced her undercover curious boyfriend to that sweet Christian for a threesome. From this point it went on and off between the three until it became the two. I don't know If I feel bad for Mila since she didn't seem all the heartbroken. I wish we could have gotten some more time with Alexander's past since we know whatever happened then has impacted him so much right now.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 2463 comments Jenne wrote: "No real tree for me. I have vaulted ceilings in my living room and have to have a tall tree or it looks silly."

I put up 3 trees. A 4-ft artificial one that sits on a table by the stairway in the foyer. A 7-ft "skinny" artificial one that goes in the study/library. And the big boy - a fresh Fraser fir in the family room. The vaulted ceiling will take a 12-foot tree and in the past that's what we put up. But, frankly, I'm just too tired and old to go to that much effort any more. So this year it's a 9 foot tree. I finished the lights last night - 24 strands! I could use one more but I've had it. How did I ever manage something 3 feet taller?! I still have to put ornaments on it, and just unpacking the 18 boxes of treasures is a chore. Maybe I'll leave the ornaments off - it's looks spectacular at night just with all the lights on it!

God willing, we're selling the house in Spring to down-size, so this is likely the last year for the big tree. If we find a condo with a vaulted ceiling I'm buying a big artificial pre-lit tree. I know they're expensive, but we spend $100 each year on that big fresh guy (only $60 this year because it's smaller).

Synopsis

As Tudors go, Elizabeth of York is relatively unknown. Yet through her marriage to Henry VII she became the mother of the dynasty, with her children including a King of England (Henry VIII) and Queens of Scotland (Margaret) and France (Mary Rose), and her direct descendants including three Tudor monarchs, two executed queens and, ultimately, the Stuart royal family. Although her offspring took England into the early modern world, Elizabeth's upbringing was rooted firmly in the medieval world, with its courtly and religious rituals and expectations of women. The pivotal moment was 1485. Before then, her future was uncertain amid the turbulent Wars of the Roses, Elizabeth being promised rst to one man and then another, and witnessing the humiliation and murder of her family. Surviving the bloodbath of the reign of her uncle, Richard III, she slipped easily into the roles of devoted wife and queen to Henry VII and mother to his children, and has been venerated ever since for her docility and beauty. Yet was she as placid as history has suggested? In fact, she may have been a deeply cultured and intelligent survivor who learnt to walk a difficult path through the twists and turns of fortune. Perhaps she was more of a modern woman than historians have given her credit for.

Just a well written book, I found it was well researched on one of history's most forgotten queen.

Read: The Lost (Celestial Blues, #2) by Vicki Pettersson by Vicki Pettersson
Finished: 12/9/14
Rating: ★★★★☆
Review:
So these books are not fast reads, even though it's not a high page count. Now that being said the build up to the "big thing" at the end is interesting. But once you get to the last 20% or so it goes from an ok read to a holy crow read. And that is my reason for my love/hate relationship with Vicki Pettersson's writing style. Now some major bombs were dropped at the end of this one and I do want to read book 3 soon rather than later but I know it will be a chore to get through to "the meat of the story". I think if I cared more for the characters it would help. Don't get me wrong I do like them, I just don't love them. As usual though Ms. Pettersson's world building is unique, very unique I just wish I was more sold than I am.
