Dark Places Dark Places question

hateful characters

Gillian Flynn seems to like characters you hate more than like with Nick in Gone Girl and Libby in Dark Places. I think she does a much better job at giving us characters to squirm at but keep on reading about than JK Rowling does in A Casual Vacancy. Both are overwhelmingly populated with hateful people but Flynn makes them compelling where Rowling doesn't.

I agree with you, Susie. Gillian Flynn does make the read enjoyable and yet dark and unlikeable.

I agree also. They are characters you love to hate!
