Ok, this is the one that started it all for me. And I am more than happy to discuss the book/game with anyone interested !

I'm sad I've never gotten to play a real game of Deadlands. Some friends and I tried online years ago. Unfortunately, our DM was...less than stellar. At everything.

But yes, the Deadlands books all have great covers and the player's guide with Stone is still awesome. I think Brom did that cover too. It tends to stand out from the rest in just how good it is.

Brom did do the cover. I believe the story of how Shane Hensley came up with the game was that he went to DragonCon in the early 90s and Brom had work on display. Shane saw a piece of Brom's, a vampire in a Confederate uniform, that he just couldn't get out of his mind and it inspired him to come up with what has become the archetype Weird Western roleplaying game. I think at that point it was just good manners to ask him to do the first cover! I love the setting, even updated to their new Savage Worlds rules; fun system, real easy to learn, especially for new players. And I'm a GM of many years experience (yes, I'm a nerd). I hope some day to revive my skills.

Brom's good.

Here's a couple of my favorite covers.
The Gunslinger
Dead Man's Hand: Five Tales of the Weird West

I would certainly hope an author liked their own covers.

Those are both cool covers. Skin Medicine is pretty awesome and chilling.

That was such a weird comic. Boobs and vampires and "gunslinger bikini armor."

Also, I'm pretty sure than 99% of the time, that page NEVER sources the art. Always source the art.
