If you're lucky, one day you'll get you name on here

Alice was spending the day being a tourist before she went to Pure Talent. She was walking down the Walk of Fame, wearing jeans and a cute brown boho top with mid-length loose sleeves. Her brown hair was curly falling down her shoulders, and she had brown boots on her feet. A black bag was slung across her body, resting on her hip, and she was checking out all the stars, the brightest smile of her face. Her eyes shining, the girl was very young, only 19 and on here own here in Hollywood, a very big city for one girl. She looked so ecstatic though, a dance in her step as she leisurely made her way down the street. However, people in California were in a rush that morning, rude as ever, and as Alice had her bag in her hand to grab for her camera, a rude man in a business suit slammed right into her. He didn't even stop, just kept walking. Alice lost her balance and tumbled down, skidding right onto the ground. Her bag went flying, sliding further away. Alice groaned, sitting up and examining her palms, which were bleeding lightly from sudden impact with the ground. No one stopped to see if she was okay, as she sat there catching her breath and getting her bearings.

((We're going to wait until tomorrow to roleplay, but I would save this starter. I'll have Michael done by tomorrow and I'll be able to roleplay.))

Michael had taken his trip to Hollywood to see a few different sets, having been discussing a movie idea with a director a few days prior. Right now, as he walked past the Stars on the ground, he couldn't help but noticed the ones he had made famous. Young stars, actresses, actors, singers, etcetera. Michael had seen them all. He smiled to himself, and while he was distracted, he nearly tripped over a bag. He stumbled slightly, and on first instinct, his brows scrunched together as he looked for the culprit. Then he saw the girl gathering herself. His expression melted, and he picked up her bag, walking over to her and extending a hand. "I take it you stopped in the flow of traffic." He had a crooked smile on his face, something he was quite known for in his group of friends.

At first she looked a bit in awe someone had stopped, and then her lips moved wordlessly as her mind went blank on what to say. Then as she got over the initial shock, her expression turned into a bright smile. She took his hand and let him help her up before she patted off her clothes and took her bag from him, laughing lightly. "Yeah, something like that. Thanks, I would have been sitting there for a good few minutes. It's all a little bit overwhelming." She admitted, pushing a lock of her brown hair behind her ears. She couldn't help thinking he had a great smile, and then she realized she hadn't introduced herself. So she held out her hand once more to his and greeted him, "Hi. I'm Alice... Um, Alice Abernathy. If you can't tell, I'm new to the city."

Michael wasn't used to just meeting people on the streets and making small talk, so he probably seemed a bit awkward at first. But as the girl spoke, he felt that start to go away and his socialite status kick in. He shook her hand in greeting. "Alice is a lovely name. I'm Michael Rivers, and I'm certainly not new to the city, although I can see how it can be overwhelming to new comers." This wouldn't have been the first time Michael's seen awe in someone's face or even the first time seeing someone who stumbled because they're not used to the hustle and bustle of heavy population. Having grown up in it, it wasn't hard to tell who was a tourist and who lived and breathed California. "What brings you to Hollywood?" he inquired. For some it was just a vacation, for others it was work, and for most it was a desire to start a life of the rich and famous. He wondered where this girl was on that spectrum. She had a pretty face, so it was probably the latter of the goals by coming to Hollywood.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (SummerRain15) Yay hi) Alice smiled at his comment about her name. Her hand was small in his, and soft. She was startled by his question, though it was reasonable to ask. She blushed, looking away, "Oh you'll think it's silly. I um... I want to be an actress." She admitted, humble about it. Most actresses were bold, not afraid to admit what they wanted, but Alice was pretty modest. "I mean it's a long shot, I'll probably end up one of those sad stories about failed dreams. But I was willing to try. Came all the way from Wisconsin for it." She told him, looking back at him again. "I was actually going to find work as an assistant or some kind of P.A. or something until I could go to some casting calls. I was going to get a manager, but I wanted to stop here first. I always dreamed of walking along this walk, seeing the stars on the sidewalk." Then she blushed, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm babbling again."

((Yo~))
Just as he'd thought. Michael wasn't at all surprised by her answer. "I was wondering where that accent was from. And don't be sorry, it's good when someone's passionate enough to babble about something," Michael assured her. "As a matter of fact, I see a lot of people come into California and expect big things when in reality they're in for heartbreak. Not to say you'll be that way, and already you're different, because you understand that there's high standards in show business. But in any case, you've got your head in the right place." Managers aren't cheap though, that much Michael knew, and he hoped this girl had the money to fund such high hopes. "I hope to see you around though, because if I do, that means you're on the right path toward your goal. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call," he pulled out his wallet, handing Alice his business card. "My cell is on there, and that's the easiest way to get ahold of me right now. My assistant has been troublesome and deciding not to show up to work, so there's no one to take my calls at the office."

She was surprised when he gave her his business card, as she wasn't used to business cards in Wisconsin. She read it and her eyes grew wide, looking back up at him. "Y-You're a producer. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I didn't know. Here I am blabbing your ear off and you're probably late for something. Don't worry, I won't call unless it really is an emergency, I can't be blowing up your cell for just anything. Thank you though." She paused, thinking of his assistant, and hesitantly spoke, "I um... If your assistant needs some time off, or if you open the position, I'd be glad to come work for you. I mean obviously there are probably people more qualified than me, but I ran the phones at my local dentist's office back home for a whole month while his assistant was on maternity leave. I'd be glad for the work, if you need me to." She opened her bag and fumbled for a pen but she couldn't find a paper, so hesitantly she took his hand and wrote her number on the back of his hand. With her name. She dotted the i with a heart, a habit that seemed almost school girl like. "Um, sorry, but there's my number." She smiled at him, releasing his hand.

Alice's tendency to ramble was kind of endearing in a way. Michael truthfully had no where important to go other than back to his office. He'd already gotten a good selection of studios to pick from, and all that was left was to go to LA and email them out to the director. Either way, he wasn't about to invite a stranger to go out or something weird like that. The man smiled as she spoke about being interested in his assistant's job. He'd honestly been considering firing the girl for a while, and it always helped to have someone young and motivated around. He'd consider her for the position, no doubt. As Alice grabbed his hand, he was about to say he had paper, or even his cellphone, but she'd already begun writing it, so he didn't stop her. He was sure to get some shit at the office for the heart dot above the i, or even just the fact that there was a number on his hand, not that he cared. "Thank you, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, good luck in Hollywood. I wish you the best." He was sincere. Michael really did want to see more people succeed, always been one for new talent.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (SummerRain15) Alice blinked at his words, realizing he as sincere. She'd heard all kinds of stories about Hollywood, how it'd suck her in and spit her out with no mercy. How no one was real, or sincere. But she was a good judge of character, and she could tell Michael meant what he said. She didn't even think of the fact he might have paper, and she'd only gotten a cellphone when she moved to the city, so that didn't occur to her either. Smiling, she pulled away, sticking the pen back in her bag, "Thanks." She said, giving him a wave, and then moved to leave before she froze. Awkwardly turning back to Michael she blushed and asked, "Erm... Which way is PureTalent, again?"

Michael was about to head off, looking down at his watch to check the time, when he heard Alice's voice once again. He glanced up and gave a light-hearted chuckle. She really wasn't a city girl, that much was plain as day. "You'll go straight down the Walk," he pointed in the direction she'd want to go, "then your first left. Keep going down that way. You can't miss it, trust me." He then smirked. "Just make sure you don't stop in the midst of traffic, alright?"
