Janet (goodreadscomjanetj) | 86 comments Perhaps "The New Catacomb" and "The Case of Lady Sannox" should be considered tales of vengeance instead of tales of terror. They are good stories but not particularly terror inducing.

Kim I've never heard of this Conan Doyle book, I'll have to check it out.

Janet (goodreadscomjanetj) | 86 comments The Terror of Blue John Gap was an excellent story. It was the first story in this book that I would have called a true "Tale of Terror". Taken by itself it is a 5 star read. The Brazilian Cat was also a very good tale of terror. It had a nice twist for the ending. Now on to the books Tales of Mystery.

Franky I liked the first story, "The Horror of the Heights". It sort of has a H.G. Wells feel to it, more sci-fi, Twilight Zone-ish, with that twist at the end. I like how it has to do with aviation as well.

"The New Catacomb" was a little too dark for me, although it definitely reminds me of Poe.
