This week we look at families separated by rivalry and hatred and rejoined by forgiveness and love. Esau who lost his inheritance through the tricks of Jacob; Joseph traded away by his brothers. However, when the time came to meet their brothers, Esau and Joseph exhibited forgiveness. They desired reconciliation.

As the youngest of six, there have been many opportunities for me to "get even". But I could not follow through with inflicting pain I thought they deserved. Forgiveness heals.

Forgiving others brought me closer to God and allowed me to see that God uses the bad for good intent.

Gerri I have a page taped to my office door, it's an advertisement for Tom's shoes. It's a Cambodian proverb. "Cultivate a heart of love that knows no anger" I put it there a few years ago when I was struggling - it's hard for me to stay calm when someone hurts one of my kids.
