Catch-22 Catch-22 question

which war?

Two things occur to me here. The first is that Catch 22, although set in WWII, is not 'about' war in the same sense that the other books are; it could just as easily be 'about' Korea or Vietnam if you make the relevant adjustments.

Secondly, to directly address Lawrence's question, I would be very surprised if the answer was Vietnam. The clue, as they say, is in the name; WORLD War Two. If you confine your question to the US, Lawrence, then you might well get more answers as from Austin and Gordon, but more generally, Vietnam was an American war, not a world war.

I read more from Vietnam than WWII. I've read Platoon, Semper-Fi-do-or-die, Dispatches and several more. WWII not so much. They're more out of date for me personally.

I read more about ancient wars.

Same as me. I like the timeframe of Vietnam better.
