I read this many years ago so I am not sure how much I will join in the discussion since my memories of it are pretty limited. But I remember liking it enough to read the rest of his Mars books.
Just read this recently too, and can only recommend it highly. Am excited to get to the following books; this left me with a hankering for similarly clear headed, hard SF.

I just reread it for this group and a concurrent other group’s read, and I loved it even more the second time through. looking forward to discussing it with everyone.
This will be my first time reading Red Mars. I’ve seen it on the shelf at bookstores and its description has always fascinated me, so I am eager to read this for myself at last.
