message 26: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Hey Smitha, I'm going to start The Lies of Locke Lamora tomorrow as part of a group BOTM. Would you like to read that book too? Or have you read that one?

I'd also like to read Dark Places and I shall read The Knife of Never Letting Go later this month (from 22nd). So if you are willing to read any of these books, we can read together. :)
Else, suggest any book you wish to read. :)

Sorry for the late response.

message 27: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Mish- Thank you. :D
I'll love that too. :D

message 28: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) @Vinny , will give the Lies of Lock Lamora a try.
If I get muddled by the fantasy aspect I expect you to explain things and save me. :P

message 29: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) @Misha , Meera and Ishi , 5 pages? 0_O

message 30: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) @Vinny , Dark places IS good , though not as dramatic as Gone Girl

message 31: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Smitha- All right, I'll try my best. :P
By the way, as I said it is the group read of NBRC of this month. They're following a reading schedule. I'll probably stick to that one. Would you like to do the same?

Here's the link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 32: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Oh, you've read that one! Will read it later sometime then. :)
Speaking of Gone Girl, reminds me about the movie. Have you watched it?
I want to watch it so bad! Sigh.

message 33: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) Have bought tickets for Monday night . Actually wanted to go tonight, but all tickets sold out till tomorrow
And regarding LockeLamora -sure. Shall follow the reading pattern .

message 34: by Misha (new)

Misha (itz_mie) I watched Gone Girl today... movie was awesome!!!

message 35: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Okay, hope you enjoy the movie. :)

We shall start tomorrow then.
I won't be home tomorrow so won't online as well. Will be here on Monday.
Would you like to discuss while reading the book or after we finish reading?

message 36: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Mish- Yayy! :D
Liked it as much as the book?

message 37: by Misha (new)

Misha (itz_mie) not as much as the book... but yeah, a very good adaptation indeed!!!

message 38: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Hmm, thought so. The book was too good for anything to match its level.

message 39: by Dhaval (new)

Dhaval Pandya (dhaval343) I've booked for tomorrow. Aching to see the visual adaption.

message 40: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) So cool the two of you are reading The Lies of Locke Lamora. I'm reading it too. Is it okay if I peak in to see what the two of you think of it? I'm going to be asking a set of questions :/ Why did I do that? Vinny I'll see you in that thread. :)

message 41: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh Great to see Lies of Locke Lamora being read. :-) Did you girls start already?

message 42: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) Rachel & Anirudh, I would surely appreciate your inputs. I am planning to start today. I am sort of 'fantasy naive', so possibly will have to read and reread if it is hard core fantasy stuff.
@ Dhaval, as for Gone Girl movie, tickets were sold out for yesterday and today, so already bought for Monday night. I heard that the twist in the movie is not parallel to that of the book. So am eagerly anticipating...

message 43: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) Thanks. I am really enjoying Lies of Locke Lamora and I'm the 13% mark. It's a good book. I'm really into it and will start my answering of the questions for this book in my other group.

message 44: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh @Psmith, sure ask if you have doubts :-)

@Rachel, great. It's very entertaining. I love this book :-D

message 45: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh @Vinny, How is it? First Impressions?

message 46: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) My first impression -interesting , captivating . Makes one want to read the whole thing at one go.

message 47: by Dhaval (new)

Dhaval Pandya (dhaval343) @Psmith. There is no significant change between movie and book. I looked for them and lost the focus sometimes. There are omissions, which were not wholly necessary. Ending style has been changed, not the content. This is not spoilery. You already know what happens.

message 48: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Glad to see so many people reading this book at the same time.

Rachel- We are in the same team in TTIII! So we can talk about the book there. :) I haven't answered any of the discussion questions yet but will try to complete those by tomorrow. Didn't get much time to read in the last two days.

Anirudh- First impression? It's engrossing, I'm about 17% done and am already into the book. Getting acquainted with the world of Camorra and dying to know more about Locke Lamora! :D

message 49: by Smitha (new)

Smitha (embeddedinbooks) @Dhaval , I watched yesterday :-)
@Vinny , I am at 8% and immensely enjoying .

message 50: by Damini (new)

Damini | 860 comments Smitha- Same here. Loving the book.
How was Gone Girl movie by the way?
