Hello! I would like to know what you would charge to illustrate 48 pages of manga material. (Japanese style comic). You stated that you are looking to build your portfolio and prices are low. What kind of estimate would you give me for 48 pages of work? If this works out, this could be a recurring business venture.

Larry Moniz (larrymoniz) | 9 comments Hi Emily. Not sure if this is of interest to you.

I’m seeking someone who can create original artwork for a planned series of historical fiction books targeted to the Middle School marketplace. Artwork for each book would include a color cover illustration and 4-6 pencil sketches for the interior.

I can’t offer a stipend, but I can provide an artist credit on every copy as well as Cover Credit for each title on Amazon and other electronic and print media sales outlets, where applicable. In addition, the artist(s) chosen will be able to add to, or develop, a portfolio of published work in order to build their career credentials. My vision is artwork that creates a feeling of youthful adventure in an early 1600s Northeastern Woodlands Indian environment. However, I’m emphatically NOT seeking the stilted artwork of actual artists of that period. Rather, I’m envisioning a cross between The Hardy Boys and George Catlin (i.e. adventure with the flavor of early America).

I’m a retired journalist and publicist with multiple journalism and writing awards. Health issues forced me into retirement, but I’m still a constant writer. Now I write a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books as well as the occasional white paper on archeology-based topics. I’ve been forced by financial limitations to restrict book covers to public domain sources. With my planned middle school series, I’m seeking one (or more) artists to develop covers that directly tie-in to book content in order to enhance marketing potential.

To verify my credentials simply do a Google computer search for Larry Moniz and/or find my writings on Amazon.

Any assistance you can provide will be deeply appreciated.

Rachel Thyssen (rachelthijssen) Hello!

I'm Rachel and I've been drawing digitally and traditionally for some time now. At some point, I started creating covers for myself and others.
Now I would like to offer my services to other authors. And since I'm not that experienced, I won't charge anything for it.
So there's really nothing to lose. And given that I don't like waiting myself, this should not be a problem either.
Just let me know if you're interested and I'll see what I can do for you :)

Here's some of my work:

Melissa (defineimaginemj) | 4 comments Hi, I'm not an artist but rather an author (a fledgling author that is). I write epic fantasy (which has also been said to have other styles mixed in), and so far my debut novel has been receiving some very positive feedback (see here on Goodreads and on Amazon

I'm looking for possible artists who may be looking to kickstart their careers who will only charge low rates or who are interested in collaborative efforts. I already have one artist, but I'm looking for another to join my team. I'm not just looking for a one off piece or two, I'm looking for someone to actively join me as a team member. Examples include Ayami Kojima who did a lot of artwork for the Castlevania series with Konami, and Yoshitaka Amano who has worked with Square Enix on the Final Fantasy series.

Here is some of the work my other artist has done - I am looking for at least this level of skill and a similar style.

You can read an excerpt from Keys of the Origin here on Goodreads, and I'd be willing to give a free copy of the ebook to the enthusiastic artist who wishes to join me to progress both our careers.

Begoña True | 3 comments Hi Melissa

I am an illustrator and sometimes when I really like a story I do it for a low rate.
I do however use color pencils or mix media, not computer designs. You can see my work at my web page

Warm regards
Begoña True
