I walked into my daughters room and noticed this book. I had no idea where it came from, but I hadn't read it before and for some reason was drawn to it.

This book was powerful to me and at the end, my eyes were wet. Oh, when a book can move you.

This is the story of a boy living in the early 20th century on a farm and raised by a devout father. This short book explores the relationship between a 12 year old boy and a hard working and principled father.

After I started, there was no stopping until I reached the last page. Very moving.

A friend of mine used this book yearly with her 4th graders. How old is your daughter?

4th grade. Almost 10. She hasn't read it yet.
