Emma Flanagan (emma89) Following on from discussion in the "Improving the Group" thread I thought it might be a good idea to set up a thread where people could share tips on where to buy books and ways of reducing shipping costs.

The three main websites I would be aware of as good for buying books are:
The Book Depository
Kenny's Bookshop (

Amazon only offers free shipping on orders over £25 to Ireland so when ordering from them I tend to wait till I'm getting a few things or pool together with other members of my family. You have to watch third party sellers as while the book may be very cheap, shipping can be expensive for outside the UK. Both Kennys and the Book Depository offer free shipping worldwide.

Paul An additional site for ordering that we use is
They do new and second hand but their second hand selection is huge and I've gotten signed editions for 2.70. I think it does most second hand books gor around that price and the delivery is very cheap and the sane if you order one or ten books.
For collectables is a great starting point for a collecter. Books are cover price plus delivery for most signed books unless its a numbered edition which can be more but there books always gain in value ( Most ltd editions ive bought are now worth into the hundreds of euro)
For deliveries to Irekand from the UK check out as it can save a fortune in deliverys.

Allan Ian, this UK site seems to have an even greater choice of literary t-shirts available!
