Looking for "off the top of the head" suggestions of good stories involving plagues, infections, pandemics, black death, yellow fever etc. Not so much novels, and if zombie fiction, only those that are more about the infection than the result. Could fall into sci-fi as well, just looking for good story suggestions. Some starters:

The Masque Of The Red Death by E.A. Poe
The End Of The Passage by Rudyard Kipling (cholera)
Fever Dream by Ray Bradbury
The Last Flight of Doctor Ain by James Tiptree Jr.
Pandemic by Jesse Franklin Bone
The Rat by S. Fowler Wright (maybe)
The Dust of Death by Frederick Merrick White

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2788 comments The Masque OF The Red Death is a classic and personal favorite of mine. I love the flow and simplicity that cleverly disguises the darkness throughout the story.

As for others that come to mind,

The Plague by Ken Liu
The Scarlet Plague by Jack London
Pandemic by Jesse F. Bone
The Black Death by Arthur Shearly Cripp's
