Despite her obvious disadvantage in the area of special abilities, Rae compensates for it in as many ways as possible. Though Rae is more comfortable in her own head, through the trauma she experienced during her younger years, she evolved into a somewhat more of a feisty and abrupt person than she would otherwise have been inclined to be.

● ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ ● Rae did not depend on the people who gave birth to her for parental support, quite the contrary. Her brother became more of a parent than anyone in her life claimed to be; and she loved him for that, even when he became a monster... even during the nights that fire would abruptly explode from his fingers, trailing down his hands and up his chest.
She loved him as the episodes grew worse, and when eventually others began to learn of her brother's strange abilities. They took him away the night his powers set their apartment on fire, leaving Rae with scars she could never forget.
Yet, Rae still loved him. After he was released from the place he had been locked away at, she found him once again. He was different from what she remembered, and she quickly discovered why. He had heard rumors of a infinite pro-subhuman group, and he wanted to find them. After some persuasion, Rae convinced him to take her with him.

Calypso is more on the short side of the spectrum. She isn't exactly the height of a model, or even an average woman. She's not in love with how short she is, but it could be worse. She has a slim figure, and she keeps herself strong and fit. Her skin is a more tan, bronze color without tanning,

Calypso has light brown eyes. They're more of a large, doe shape, lined with thick lashes, usually caked with mascara. The irises have shoots of gold going through them, mixed with the regular brown.

Calypso's hair is normally a light brown as well, but she doesn't like that color much. She takes one night a month to dye her hair a dark brown, to where it's almost black. It's all done in her bathroom, very hush hush. She likes for people to think it's natural.

Calypso has a very advanced intellect for a young woman of her age. While most twenty year olds in her field are still in college, studying the sciences and maths that they need to do her job, Calypso advanced through her schooling very quickly. Her curriculum was fast paced and demanding, and it didn't really leave all that much time for socializing. So she isn't exactly the most sensitive person. She's very full of herself most of the time, and has a hard time believing that she ever isn't right. It just doesn't make much sense to her that anyone would be more intelligent. She isn't some crazy cat lady all-around nerd girl, though. Once she finished college (at age 18) she started to really socialize more. She quite likes it, once she finds people that are good enough to hang out with. No matter where she's been in her life, Callie has been considered one of the elite, so she has tons of confidence about herself. She thinks shes one-hundred percent perfect, and that it wouldn't make sense to change. She loves shopping and living on the posh side of the city. The idea of going to the slums for more than a quick jaunt really freaks her out. She knows that the Subhumans aren't terrible or bloodthirsty or anything, but it's a completely different environment in that part of Berlin, and she doesn't like it much.

sᴛᴀɢᴇ Ⅰ – ʏᴏᴜᴛʜ
It was a chilly October night when Callie came into the world. Most children are born into the sterile area of a hospital or in the comfort of their to be home, but Callie wasn't so lucky. She was born in a grungy old building, the same one that her birth mother would shoot up her drugs in. It was America, New York to be exact, and her mother was human. It shouldn't have been like that. But humans are stupid and idiotic, and Callie was the surprise, accidental baby of a junky that couldn't afford an abortion. When she was born, one of her mothers friends wrapped her in an old tee shirt while she cried, and someone cleaned up her mother. Callie still doesn't know that woman's name, or if she's dead or alive. She just knows that on that same night, she was dumped off at some crappy orphanage for Human children. They took her in and gave her some clothing and an actual blanket, and made sure she was warm and that she wasn't hungry. It wasn't a magical start. Callie was just a forgotten orphan, one of the masses with no father and a mother that wanted nothing to do with a wretched little baby. The orphanage wasn't the easiest place to start her life. Callie was with the other children all day and night, but most of them were far older than her. They took care of her like older siblings, and they really did like her. She wasn't very interested in the social interaction, though. The only room in the orphanage that she really liked to be in was the one that held books. Even at a very young age, she would sit in there and stare, stare at the books until the squiggles turned into letters, and the letters turned into words. She listened to the nuns when they read to her and copied them, teaching herself how to read by the time she was four. It was a miraculous accomplishment for such a little thing. All the nuns suspected that Callie's mother was a drug user, why else would she be such a small child? Callie didn't care much what they thought, though, and would always tug on the clothing of her "big siblings" to bring her to the big library. She liked to get more books to read, since she'd finished the orphanages library after two months.

She was put into elementary school a year later, and once there, she shocked all of her teachers. Callie wasn't a shy girl in kindergarten, she was actually quite bossy and loud. She would make "friends" with any kids that would listen to her, that wouldn't argue with her about what to play at recess or what the right answer on the homework was. She didn't care much for coloring, since she thought it was a useless tool. That's the sort of thing that surprised her teachers. Callie was the small little brunette that marched up to her teacher and told her that they really should cut down on the amount of coloring they do, and teach the kids real skills, like math and science. The teacher said okay, that she would start teaching them the math part of the curriculum. And Callie learned right away. She was counting and doing all the addition and subtraction after a couple weeks. The teacher had her stay after school in the next month. She gave Callie a workbook full of multiplication problems, and though it wasn't too surprising based on the young girls past work, she started to do them after just one explanation of how to handle them. She was a fast success, and the teacher started to try and figure out how to get her into more advanced programs, so she could use up her full potential.

Word eventually spread of the orphan girl that seemed to be a prodigy in her kindergarten class. She didn't know that people were talking about her all through New York, but they definitely were. One couple, Lilly and Michael Dreama, heard about her as well. They'd been trying to have a child for years, but with no luck. They'd been thinking about adopting for a while, and once they heard about Callie, they decided that if they were going to adopt they might as well adopt a child prodigy. They went down to the orphanage to meet her, and honestly Callie was just confused. She was in the dining room when they arrived, working in her math book. She'd been there for over an hour, just flipping through the pages and getting as much practice as she could. She was only six years old. Lilly and Michael came in to see her, to see if they would all be a good fit together. They were a wealthy couple that lived in Manhattan, both humans. Michael worked at the VOLKE headquarters in New York, and Lilly worked in a fashion house as a designer. They met Callie and watched her work on her math, and really they just wanted to adopt her. She was a quirky sort of girl, making loud comments and being perfectly blunt with her possible parents. They decided to fill out the paperwork that afternoon, and Callie moved into their Manhattan flat in the next week. Callie wasn't fully comfortable with that. She missed the nuns that she'd come to love and the older children that she'd thought of as siblings. She told her new parents that and they told her not to worry, that she would like her new life much better. Callie wasn't happy with that at all. She quite liked her old life, but she realized that her new mommy and daddy didn't really care to hear what she had to say, so she started to keep her mouth shut around them. She just wore the clothes they picked and went to the schools they chose. The school wasn't exactly normal. It was a sort of academy for children that are ahead of their ages, where they basically have tutors as teachers, and they learn things and take tests faster than normal children. Her work load was insane, but she kept up with it for years. The only socializing she knew for the next ten years were the parties her parents took her too. She was presented at a cotillion when she was 15, but her escort was picked by her parents. They weren't exactly warm, gooey people. They loved Callie, but they weren't smothering her with love. They taught her that it was better to be intelligent and talented than kind. She became a sort of doll really, she just did what they said and that was that. They let her chose her own name though, and based on one of her favorite greek myths, she decided to lengthen her name to Calypso. By the time she was sixteen she was given her high school diploma, and she was accepted at Columbia University to major in her favorite subject, which was sciences.

sᴛᴀɢᴇ ⅠⅠ – ᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ
Going to such an elevated university as sixteen years old definitely wasn't easy for Calypso. She went in the school with a backpack, took the car service to the school everyday. She walked in and was instantly stared at. The 18 year olds at the school saw her as someone to mess with, someone they didn't like right away. They'd worked so hard to just get accepted, but for Callie it was something she did without even a thought. She took all advanced classes, and a huge course load every semester. She was headed to majoring in math and science, as well as having a minor in business. She didn't really do much but work. Unfortunately, it's all she really knew how to do. Sometimes she would go get coffee with a couple of classmates, but for the most part it was working in the library, every once in a while going to the social events her parents still wanted her at. When she was done with all her homework and studying, she liked to go shopping in all the high end shops. Chanel being her absolute favorite. She loved the clothes, wearing them all together in perfect style harmony. She always prided herself on the style.

More than anything else, she liked her class work. Every lecture was an opportunity, every paper was a way to show that she knew exactly what she was talking about. Her grades were impeccable, and with the amount of courses that she took, she graduated right after her 18th birthday. Her parents were so proud of her, and Callie knew exactly what she wanted to do once she was out in the real world. She went straight to VOLKE and interviewed for a job in their science department. She wanted to learn so much more about the human genome and what made it create Subhumans, where they came from. She was given a job as an intern there. All of her coworkers thought it was suspicious, that she looked much younger than the rest of them. And she was, but she didn't tell anyone that explicitly. She let them believe that she just had a young face. She went into the job everyday, and after just two paychecks she moved straight out of her parents apartment, and into a different buildings that was closer to VOLKE. Her work started out being her life. She spent all day in the lab and went home late at night. She didn't have any friends at first, but then she broke out of her shell a little bit. She was asked to go out for drinks with some of the people that worked in the same lab as she did, and of course she accepted. She had a lot of fun with them actually; she made jokes and danced and had a few martinis. She even made out with a guy for the first time, one of her coworkers. She went home that night and slept till ten on the next day, which was thankfully a Saturday. It had opened up a whole new world for. She started to go out on Friday nights and had fun. She had friends for the first time since she was at the orphanage.

But her work to her was still more interesting than a social life. After a yeast of working at VOLKE she was one of the top scientist in the genetics department. She started her own study, in fact, in determining the origin of all of the Subhumans. She worked with old DNA and data, trying to find the origin of a certain spike in the amount of Subhumans that happened some years ago. She wasn't sure how natural it was. But she was hopeful, trying to trace family to family and where the spike actually began. But one day some of the higher ups came into her lab, where she and her interns were busy coming through genes, and they told her that her study was being shut down. She argued with them, trying to find out why. They claimed that it was a useless study, that they didn't need to know why it was something they at VOLKE needed to know about the Subhumans: they told her that they were more focused on the future. Calypso wasn't happy about that. She went out to dinner with her friends that night, and while she was talking to her best friend, Jared, she had an idea. She thought that she might be able to continue her study in secret, without the higher ups knowing about it.

And so that's what se did. Her extra work lasted about a month before they found out what she was doing. She was given a disciplinary hearing the next day, and the head of the science department decided that she needed to be moved as a punishment. It was obvious that Calypso loved her home city. She liked the way it was there. So they decided to move her to Germany. The transfer made Calypso furious, but worse than that, they aren't even letting her do a study in Berlin. They put her as a scientific supervisor. All she was allowed to do was walk around and see if other people are doing their own studies correctly. She was furious, and even went to the head of the whole corporation with a huge complaint and report. She was mad that they would do this to her just for being dedicated to her work. But no one would listen to her. So she was moved just about a week ago, sent to the Berlin office. She's been there for so little time, she's barely been able to settle into her new apartment and find out how to get to her office. Calypso has found that she doesn't much like being a higher up, and is constantly trying to find her way back into the experimental part of VOLKE.
