Daniel sighed and hugged her "I'm taking off work, no matter what...I don't want you to be scared...and I know that my mom hates those appointments..."Chris called Brandon wondering if he was getting Lillly ready for bed, maybe he should call later?
Derrick growled "yeah I'm real...I leave and suddenly your all over my girl!"
Kriss smiled weakly, feeling much better that he was so concerned about her and cared so much. But she didn't want him to go into all this trouble. This was her own mess to deal with, and she would have to find out someway to deal with it on her own. "Thank you, Danny." She hugged him. Brandon picked up, putting down the cheese grater to take the call. He didn't check the number, so he wasn't sure who it was. "Hello?" He asked. "Brandon here."
Antony paled, suddenly feeling sick to his stomach. His friend was alive!? And he let them go through that pain!? What on earth was going on. "You have your own explaining to do. You were dead." he said softly.
Danny sighed and held her close "I've got you...it'll all be ok, I'm ok with taking care of a kid im graduating this year and you'll graduate next year..."Chris chuckled "hey...it's Chris, how's the daddy life going? I heard you are rocking the CEO job. How's it like being the boss man?"
Derrick growled "yeah I was, but I wasn't bloody cremated I healed and you guys didn't even think twice! What I die and you hop into bed with my girl?!"
Kriss shook her head, hating the thought of him staying home just to take care of her mistake. "No… Danny… you have to go to college, and live your dream. We need an income to support us…" she looked up at him. "I'm 99.99% sure that this thing was faulty, so let's please not talk like I'm pregnant yet, ok?" She asked softly. Brandon lit up then, smiling. "Lot's of work! But lot's of fun too, Lilly's so sweet and she's getting better at English every day. The job's been good. Lot's of responsibility, no field work, but it's not bad as far as work goes. What about you man? I haven't heard from you in a while."
Antony didn't know what to say, didn't know what to do. His friend looked about to shoot him and he couldn't deny what had happened, nor did he regret it. "look, I'm sorry, but you can't expect Mira to have become a nun once you were dead." He said gently. "it has been a year… you know."
Danny sighed and kissed her head pressing her to her chest "ok, it'll be good...we'll be fine it's a stupid plastic stick how is it supposed to know..." He got up and grabbed his jacket "ready to go see your brother and his new squish?"Chris chuckled "um I've been in a coma for three months and now I'm a brand new dad, your going to have to give me some advice man...I'm glad you are liking your job.
Derrick growled "I just can't believe my best friend would take my girl!" He growled angrily "I can't even look at you slut."
Mira winced and closed her eyes "I...I'm going for a walk..." She whispered pulling a sun dress on and quickly leaving the apartment.
Kriss nodded, giving him one more hug, thankful that he understood and they could let the matter drop for the time being. She smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah, let's go see the baby. Not a word about this until we know for sure though, ok? I don't want to stress out Chris without reason." She said seriously, pulling on a coat and stepping outside. Brandon's eyes widened, as he had not heard any of this and that was all rather crazy to take in at once. "Wow… man… that's a little crazy! Congrats on the baby though. How's Laila doing?" he said, smiling at Delaney as he mouthed her the news. "I'll try my best to give you advice, but to be honest, I'm still learning myself…"
Antony winced, hating that things were like this between them, right after he came back, and then he darkened, anger clouding his features. "That was uncalled for." he said, bunching his fists. "She didn't deserve that at all. Go apologize you bastard."
Danny nodded "yeah nearly killed the guy last time..." He tried to joke but it really wasn't something to joke about. He pulled her out to his car and drove looking around "I hate hospitals...it's like my worse fear to be in one honestly." He shuddered and opened the door for her "babies are ok though..."Chris chuckled "I guess it's something you have to work on forever...Laila is doing great, it was smooth and everything is great. Parker is beautiful and she's been sleeping and doesn't cry she's such a good baby...I think I'm ready to get back to work soon."
Derrick sighed "I know I don't know what happened...ever since I was in that lab...my anger has been uncontrollable, you know I'm not like this! I didn't mean to..." He sighed checking out the door "I think she ran...Mira doesn't walk casually..."
Kriss just nodded numbly, hating to think of how her brother had been out so long, just gone from not sleeping, and how he had missed so much of her life. She had missed him. But she smiled softly as they entered the hospital. "Then you're a lot more like my family than you might guess. Both Laila and Chris are exactly the same way." She said, walking through it with him towards the office they were directed to, and found Chris and Laila inside. Laila looked up from where she was eating the food that had finally arrived and she smiled at them both, swallowing. "Hey guys. Parker's in here." She said, laying her hand on the edge of the cradle. "Feel free to come see her."
Brandon laughed softly, nodding. "You got that right. It's good to hear that you guys have been doing alright. I'll have to come see the little tyke soon, I'm sure Lilly would love to meet her." Then he beamed. "Wonderful. You know you're one of the best agents we've got. We'd love to have you back."
Antony's anger deflated at his apology and he let out a tired sigh. "Hey man, it's ok." He squeezed his shoulder. "You'll have to catch us up on everything in a bit. For now, we need to find her." he said, slipping out the door and running down the sidewalk. "Not that she can't handle herself."
Danny smiled and walked in peeking at the little girl "hello little bean..." He said softly and caressed her cheek with his fingertip. He smiled at Krissy "look at your little niece isn't she cute?" He lifted the baby in her arms "do you know how to hold a baby?"Chris smiled "I really can't wait, I've been feeling a little lazy and need to get back in shape and ready to fight. Have you heard much about Malibu?...is he coming back to the agency or quitting?" He wondered about his brother in law and Brand knew everything about everyone.
Derrick sighed "it was so strange...I woke up in a lab with creepy scientists..." He looked around and frowned "yeah one time I snuck kissed her and she knocked me out...I have no idea where she learned how to do that."
Kriss looked down at the little girl and smiled softly. "She's so cute…" She breathed, as the baby opened her large blue eyes and blinked at them. She gently took the child as he passed her over and cradled her in her arms. "No… not really. Am I doing it right?" she asked, rocking the baby a little to keep her calm. Brandon chuckled. "I imagine so. Hopefully you had a nice sleep because we're putting you to work right away." he joked. "Malibu is off work until he's back in shape again. I said they needed the break anyways. That pair has gone through a lot. Ashley will be off too until Malibu is ready to work again."
Antony shook his head as he jogged. "Sounds really awful." He said honestly. "Talk later, though ok?" he said, not responding to the second part. He knew where Mira had learned. He spotted her then, sliding through the people on the sidewalk, and jogged to catch up. "Mira!" He called. "Mira, please wait!"
Danny helped adjust the baby in her arms "make sure the neck is supported and tuck her against your chest..." He wrapped the blanket around "there you go Krissy.." He took a picture and grinned "brand new favorite aunt!" He smiled at Laila "how are you doing? Where's Cheis?"Chris nodded "then I'll be ready to work, who else is going to be on my team then? You and Mali are gone..." He grinned "just let me know...Laila is fine with it so im ready. I know things are crazy..."
Mira sighed and hugged him tightly "I just want him to leave! I can't stand feeling guilty...he doesn't know me..." She swallowed and shook her head "I can't be with him again...I cant..."
Kriss nodded, adjusting her arms as he instructed, and smiling when he took a picture. "she's so sweet…" She breathed, rocking her and walking around the room to keep the baby calm. Laila smiled softly watching Krissy with the baby. "I'm doing alright, thank you for asking. Chris is just making a call out in the hallway. He'll be back in a few." She said. "How have you guys been doing?"
Brandon nodded in agreement. "We definitely need you back on the field." he said seriously. "A guy named Antony will be on your team, as well as a new kid. You can show him the ropes, right?" he said, "We need all the help we can get these days…"
Antony nodded, hugging her close against him. "I know baby, it wasn't fair what he said. He's been through a rough time though too, and we need to help him," He kissed her forehead. "But it is unreasonable for him to expect that you would be together again." He said seriously.
Danny smiled "I'm getting ready for graduation and Krissy is on the cheer team and volleyball team so we are keeping pretty busy. How about you guys? Chris going back to work after his leave of absence?"Chris nodded "yeah I'd love to teach him and help him through it definitely, has he been through the training yet?" He asked waving at his sister who was carrying his perfect angel it made his insides swell with happiness.
Mira sighed and nodded "least I wasn't going insane...he really was back...but how? I was there when he died and he was dead...I know it...and what happened with his body? It's just so overwhelming..."
Laila nodded, interested in their lives. It was nice to be able to talk to them, and not just talk about them all the time. Laila knew Chris was protective of his sister, but honestly, she saw nothing wrong with Daniel at all. "That sounds like a lot of fun." she said, smiling lightly as she finished off her meal. "Chris will be going back to work here soon." She agreed, nodding. "And we hope to be married by the end of April."Brandon grinned, nodding. "Great, thanks a ton. Yeah. The kid's been through training. I have to warn you, he is a little ruthless. Killed the officer in the simulation without a second thought. Managed the airplane by himself, and was able to wrap up his wounds with some palm leaves. Real surviver, but not as good a shooter as you."
Kriss looked up and saw her brother, and she smiled back, not able to wave because of the baby in her arms. Her insides knotted with guilt though, what if she was pregnant? She decided then in her mind that she would take a few more tests tonight after Danny was asleep, and then, if things were still not looking good, she would go to the clinic and end this before it started. Then there would be no worries, and she could pretend that this all was actually a false alarm on a faulty test.
Antony nodded, rubbing her arms gently as he helped her walk back towards her apartment. "I'm not entirely sure how he survived yet, but we can talk to him about it in a bit. He said something about scientists…" He shook his head.
Danny grinned "Wow, congratulations that's awesome for you guys! When are you thinking about going back home? I could help you set up the crib if you want since Chris couldn't..." he wanted to be a part of this family he loved his girl and she loved her family so he had to put the effort out there.Chris blinked "Wow...the kid does sound ruthless, did he go through the psychology test? I mean he sounds pretty...intense." he was worried about the newbie he knew not having emotions was a good asset being an agent but...was he a sociopath?
Mira sighed and looked up at Derrick "I'm sorry, but I love Antony...and I'm glad you are alive but it is very strange and um..." she couldn't say what she wanted because he would lose it.
Laila smiled softly. "Before the end of the week. I'm feeling alright, so we shouldn't need to rest here longer than a few days." She said honestly, her smile brightening when he offered to set up the crib. "Oh could you? That would be a big help. But I know you and Krissy are busy as well. I wouldn't want to impose anything on you."Brandon nodded in agreement. "Did the tests. Seems sane." he said, shrugging. "We figured you'd be able to make sure he stays in line. Came from a rough past from what I saw. Guess that can make you ruthless." He shrugged, balancing the phone.
Derrick's expression changed from one of anger to sorrow as Mira came back in. For the first time since he'd returned, he looked something a little like hopeless. "It's alright." His voice was soft. "I always knew you loved him." he turned and strode out the door.
Danny shook his head "I'm moving in pretty soon so it's really no big deal really. I'd love to help I took care of my little brother all the time when he was born. I love kids and Krissy never had younger siblings so it's really intimidating to her...do you have younger siblings?"Chris nodded "I know...yeah I'll help him, it always sucks to have a bad past. Do you know his name?" He smiled and sipping his soda watching Krissy sing to Parker it made him so happy.
Mira took his hand and squeezed it gently "I know it's hard but I still care for you...I'm glad you are alive and...Claire...really likes you, she used to try to sabatage us..."
Laila smiled, nodding slowly at that. It would be nice to have Daniel and Krissy near by. "Thank you again, Daniel, it really is kind of you." She said seriously. Then she shook her head. "No, I'm afraid I never had younger siblings either. I was one girl out of three kids. You've heard of Malibu, I'm sure. He's my twin, and Andrew our older brother." Laila explained. Brandon nodded, knowing Chris would be able to relate. "Yeah. Josh something or other. Briggs, I believe." He said honestly. "Thanks so much for taking this on… And Delaney's just finished up supper over here, so I better go, but stay in touch, ok?" He said seriously.
Derrick turned slowly, his eyes squinting in pain. How could she suggest that he just move on from her and find someone else? They were going to be married. He he had loved her. He still loved her. And she had moved on. "Just let me go, Mira." he said, pulling his hand away. "I don't love Claire. I only ever loved one woman, and I will forever love her." He whispered, glancing at her once more before he left hurriedly, not wanting her to see him break down.
Danny smiled "well Chris knows a lot about it, so she'll be just fine...and younger kids know how to spoil so it's all good! And I like your twin he is really great and you look exactly the same...is he coming to see his niece?"Chris nodded "yeah of course see you Monday and I'll take care of Josh ok? Have a good dinner!" He hung up and went to Krissy and checked on Parker "she's so sweet, hey sis how are you? Been awhile you know..."
Mira felt sick and sank to the leather couch and crief feeling like the worse person on earth, he loved her and she...she didn't know what she felt. He hurt her and called her a slut...he knew nothing about her.
Laila chuckled. "Yes, they sure do. We've got a lot of help, and I'm glad for that." She said honestly. Then she smiled. "Yeah, Mali's pretty great. He had a bit of an accident recently, so he's in the hospital too. So we'll see if he comes to visit, or if we go to see him." She said honestly. Krissy looked up as Chris joined them, and she smiled softly. "She is very sweet." She agreed, looking back down at Parker. She kept all her resentment she felt at him being missing for so long hid inside. "I've been alright. Just working on school. It has been quite a while."
Antony came to sat beside her as Derrick left. He felt so awful for all of this as well, but he didn't regret his relationship with Mira. He loved her. "I'm sorry, hon." He whispered, giving her shoulders a squeeze.
Danny blinked "wow that's awful, he's that bad? Well maybe we can go take him the baby with Krissy I don't think she is going to let go of the baby...and maybe you can rest and have some space from all of the visitors..."Chris sighed "Kriss I was unconscious what do you want me to do? I'm sorry I missed things...do you have pictures or anything? Cheer and volleyball?" He sighed and kissed her temple "don't hate me...I already have that covered..."
Mira lay on his lap sobbing "i was waiting for so long to not hurt him and he was dead! But being together with you a night he thinks im a slut..."
Laila brightened, loving that idea. She wanted some time just to rest, and talk with Chris, and that was a great chance. "Oh that would be wonderful, if you guys are up for it! He's in 203, in the long term care." She said, smiling. Kriss swallowed, looking up from Parker slowly. All the stress from last night was wearing on her. "I'm sorry. I know it's not your fault. I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at myself for not being able to manage better without you." She finally admitted softly.
Antony bit his lip. "Hey… hey, you're not a slut. I'm the next closest person to you. Not a stranger, not the next guy you saw. We love each other, and this sure won't just be a one night stand if I have any say in it." He said gently, stroking her hair back.
Chris sighed deeply and hugged her tightly "I'm sorry Krissy...you can manage fine, I'm sorry i can't split in two and be with Laila and you...but I'm here now ok? And you can tell me anything that's going on...ok? I'm your big brother..."Danny smiled "I'll go see him, you enjoy your break...just have to wait for Krissy to finish up and we'lol get her in the rolling crib and she can go on a little trip to see her uncle Mali."
Mira sighed and nodded "I love you so much Tony...I don't know why I'm so emotional, but I feel sick and like a small child he's disciplining again...I got locked in s closet because He got mad at me..."
Kriss swallowed, putting Parker down gently in the crib and hugging him. Oh how she wished she could just tell him everything. But this was one thing she knew he could never find out. It would kill him, and she couldn't have that. "Ok. I love you." She whispered, smiling a little as she stepped back again. Laila smiled, incredibly grateful. "Thanks again, Daniel. Malibu will really appreciate it, and so do I." She said, waving to him as she went back to her meal. She was famished, after all.
Antony grit his teeth, hating to hear all these things he hadn't known about his friend. "Shhh… let's not talk of it now…" he whispered, running his hands over her hair gently. "I love you. You're ok. It's ok now."
Chris knew something was wrong, she held all the signs and it scared him "Krissy...call me tonight so we can talk please, I'm scared...for you, I love you...I want to help."Danny grabbed the crib and motioned her to the hall "we are visiting Malibu he needs to meet the cutest niece on earth."
Mira nodded and sighed "Mmm I feel sick, can you grab a trash can im going to puke and I hate the feel of the toilet you know this..."
Kriss nodded, smiling a little as she stepped back "I'll call you." She promised. She would call him. After what she was planning to do tonight, she knew she would need to talk to someone anyways. She waved to them and then joined Danny by the crib. "Sounds like a plan." She said, helping him push the cart to Mali's room. Antony nodded, immediately jumping up. He grabbed the trashcan for her and held it so she could use it. "Yeah, I know." He breathed, letting her lose her stomach into the trashcan. "Feel a little better now?"
Danny smiled and pushed the crib and looked around "I hate hospitals...I hate the smell and the tools and the scrubs..what about you?" He made sure Parker was still ok "she's small isn't she?..."Miranda shook her head "no I still feel sick...I just want to be put in a coma and go back in time and break up with him after the first date and go with you...and then it will be better...right?"
Kriss walked along beside the crib and nodded, trying not to look too long at any of the people on stretchers. "It is quite dismal." she agreed softly. "I like the maternity ward much better. All babies and new life." She smiled."and yes, she's quite small. That probably aided in the smooth delivery." she looked up as they reached the room. "Here it is. Uncle Mali?" She called, looking in. "We brought your niece for a visit."Antony smiled softly, gathering her into his arms and just holding her gently, hoping to offer some comfort for her. "Then you would have never known a mistake. I would not be as good to you, because you would not have known what Derrick is like. You would have broken up with me and gone to him." He teased, smiling softly. "He has the more handsome face, you know..."
Malibu slowly glanced up, he recognized Krissy but not the boy. Probably a boyfriend or something, he nudged Ashley awake softly and smiled "well isn't this a great surprise?" He raised the bed not being able to lift himself yet.Danny was in shock at how beat up this guy looked, he looked like he had been in a gang fight or something not the cheerful guy he had met one time or the other. He slowly lifted baby Parker up and into Ashley's arms figuring that she would know if he was ok to hold her or not.
Delaney looked around the airport with trepidation and excitement, she knew her father and mother were meeting her here with her brother...the word still sent chills down her spine. She held onto Likly who fell asleep in the long plane trip thsnkfully not having too many problems with that.
Mira shook her head and kissed him running her hands through his hair and around his neck holding him "you'd never have the instinct to ever treat me badly..." She reminded and sighed "heard you have a new group of agents to work with..you excited?" Mira was on leave but she did a lot of the background undercover information.
Kriss smiled when she saw Malibu, just happy to see him again. She was good at hiding things, and right now, she was making sure to only show the joy she felt at seeing him again. "Hi uncle Mali. This is Daniel, we're dating, and we've brought baby Parker!" She hugged him. "Are you doing better."Ashley smiled and blinked drowsily, sitting up. She really needed more sleep, but she was used to waking up on short notice. She beamed when he handed her baby Paker. "Oh... She's so precious. Mali look.... She's sleeping...." She cooed, watching the little girl in her arms. She bent closer to Malibu so he could see her.
Jace was there with his parents, waiting anxiously to see his sister. Him and his mother definitely looked the most nervous, and Jason just looked radiant. He caught sight of a woman that looked a lot like his mother, and assuming that was her, he smiled and waved, hoping she would spot them and walk over.
Antony chuckled. "Well thanks for the flattery, love, it does wonders for my ego." He joked, shaking his head. "I am pretty excited, actually. One of the Gus is kinda a legend, and the other is a newbie, so we'll see how it goes when I go back." He said, shrugging. "It'll be nice to meet some new people."
Malibu hugged the girl "good to see you again, you got big what the heck? I bet Chris is freaking out right? Locking you in the highest tower and throwing away the key!" He shook Daniel's hand and smiled "pleasure to meet you, better take care of my other favorite little sister." He warned and took Parker gently in his arms "Ash honey you can go back to sleep...just rest ok?" He caressed her little round apple cheek.Delaney looked over and saw the guy waving, he looked like an old picture of her dad, she ran and hugged the man waving "are you Jace?" She asked hopefully that she wasn't a hugging a random guy. Julie smiled at Jason glad to see the family all together.
Miranda smiled "can't believe you'll be leaving for a month, you know I'll miss you more then anything and I wish you could take me with you!" She smiled caressing his cheek "don't have too much fun and don't piss off that shooter guy."
Kriss laughed softly and nodded, sitting on the edge of his bed. "Yeah, something like that." She shook her head, watching as her aunt handed the small bundle over to her uncle. Ashley wanted to refuse. She wanted to stay up and watch Mali with his niece, but she was exhausted. So she just nodded meekly and sank back down into the chair, leaning her head back against the wall and closing her eyes.
Jace's eyes widened and he looked down at his older sister who was now hugging him. At first he just nodded numbly, and then he smiled, letting his arms close around her. "Yeah. I'm Jace. And I assume you're Delaney?" he said, smiling a little.
Jason just squeezed Julie's hand, so thrilled.
Antony smiled wistfully. "Yeah, a month seems like a long time." he agreed, leaning back against the couch back. "I'd take you along if I could! We need your skills." He kissed her cheek. "I'll be tortured for a month, and come crawling back to you, ok?"
Malibu smiled and rocked the baby as he smiled at the couple "you guys are young and just have fun ok?...don't becoming too responsible it's hard to be adult and love is the best...Krissy are you still wanting an internship with the agency?"Delaney smiled and nodded "I am, and you must be Jace, it's so good to meet you finally! I'm glad that we are getting married in such a beautiful place and with my family..." She hugged Julie and smiled "hi mom..."
Mira smiled and nodded "take care of yourself, and call every night ok?...you know where I'll be working and sleeping...but what are we going to do about Derrick?"
Kriss smiled softly. "I know. Laila's always going on about 'young love'." She shook her head, looking up at him then. "but yeah. I am looking for an internship." She agreed, glancing at the clock. "Mali, can you watch Parker and make sure Daniel stays here for an hour? There's something I need to take care of and then I'll be back." She said seriously, pleading with him. She knew that currently he was the only one she could trust with this matter. She couldn't tell anyone else. Julie walked over and smiled as Jace released her and she got to hug her daughter. "Hi baby girl. How have you been?" she asked, pulling back so she could admire how big her daughter had grown.
Antony chuckled. "I'll call as many nights as I can." he vowed, a hand over his heart in pledge. "As for Derrick, that's none of my business. You two need to work out your differences and your pasts yourself." He said gently.
Malibu frowned knowing something was up, why an hour? "Yeah...but you have to take your brother with you ok?" He watched Parker "and I will ask about it so no trying to sneak out of this...clear?" He asked raising a brow.Delaney started to cry "I'm ok mom...it's been so long and you've missed so much..." She hugged her again just wanting to feel like a little girl again.
Jason held Lilly and nuzzled his grand saughrer and played with her.
Miranda smiled "good thank you..." She sighed deeply "he just wants me to say I love you back...and I cant..." She got dressed for bed and threw up again "I don't eat...why is this going on?"
Krissy groaned inwardly, but she didn't show any change of expression on her face. Now she had to lie to her uncle too, whom she thought she could trust. Chris and Daniel were the only two people who couldn't know about this! But she nodded, so he would be appeased. "Alright. Thank you. I'll be back in an hour." She said, slipping out of the hospital room. She headed to the clinic, a growing sense of dread in her stomach. But she knew she had to be strong, for Daniel. For Chris. The whole procedure only took half an hour, as the baby was still too small to even see yet. But once it was over and done with, Krissy felt like it had been eons ago that she had walked into this place, and now she came out feeling empty, and for what? She had lied to three people she loved. Knowing she had half an hour before she had to get back to Malibu again, all smiles, she cut the feed on the cameras on the roof and snuck up there, sitting in the chilling wind, her arms around her knees.
Julie had tears in her own eyes, as she squeezed her daughter gently, laying her head on top of hers. "Oh baby… I know… I wish I had not missed so much… I love you… It's so good to see you again…" She rubbed her shoulders gently.
Antony shook his head. 'Well then you need to work that out. He has to get over his wants, and you have to express yours." he shook his head, reaching out to press the back of his hand against her forehead. "You might have a fever hon…" he said softly, hoping she was not getting sick.
Danny frowned as she came back "hey you ok?..." He saw the tape on her hand and the holes from the IV "Kriss?" He pulled her out into the hall and put his hands on her shoulders "what did you do...don't lie to me..." He felt sick that she had to hide and lie to him and her family...but he felt like it was personal and that she did it to hurt him...Delaney smiled and nodded "it's good to see you mommy...I missed you." She hugged her dad tightly and smiled "I love you dad how have you been feeling?...you good? Better not be straining it..."
Mira shook her head "I have an advanced immune system...I don't get sick I've never been sick Tony...I've never been to the doctor and now I can't stop throwing up."
Krissy had carefully schooled her expression to make sure it wouldn't betray anything, but evidently Daniel had noticed something was wrong. She shoved her hands in her pockets when she remembered where the IV had been, but it was too late. She looked up at Daniel, wondering if she could lie quickly again, and make this whole thing better. But he had just specifically asked her not to lie to him… and his expression was causing her heart to clench up and turn over in pain. But she couldn't tell him the truth. That was worse. "I… I… went to the clinic… to check…" She mumbled, looking down and away from him, that much was true. It just wasn't the full truth. It wasn't the whole reason she'd gone. You just killed his baby… and you lied to him about it. Said a nagging voice in her mind. Julie nodded, not able to agree more. "I missed you too, honey." She whispered, kissing her head as she let her go and hug Jason, who smiled brightly and embraced his daughter. This much felt familiar, as he had hugged her most every day of her life. "Thought your old man was being seduced by a stranger, hm? How weak did you think I was?" he teased, squeezing her hand. "I'm doing better. Your mother's cooking could disguise spinach and make it taste like blueberry pie. So I eat what she makes me."
Antony frowned in worry, going through the other things it could be. Infection? Food poisoning? Nearly everything was ruled out… But one. "You could be pregnant, hon." he teased, though he was only half teasing. It was very probable.
Danny shook his head not believing his ears "you don't trust anyone Kristine...why would you go when I specifically said I wanted to be with you...you made the decision to kill my baby without even asking...why are you with me if you can't trust me...you can't trust your brother who loves you and raised you..." He was so upset he felt tears in his eyes he couldn't be more hurt.Delaney pat his belly "seems like you've lost some weight...it looks good dadikens, I'm so excited for our wedding...you walking me down the aisle..." She held onto Lilly "little girl is grumpy better get her to bed."
Mira blinked "I suppose it could be a possibility...but uh I've never had a lady doctor I wouldn't know who to talk to except Ashley..."
Krissy winced at the use of her full name, and then cringed, wanting to shrivel up into herself as he kept talking. She had never felt so pained before, and she knew she deserved every minute of it. It was true. She didn't trust anyone. Not him, not her brother, not Laila, or Malibu, or her friends at school, not the strangers on the streets, or anyone really. And now no one trusted her. "I don't know…" Her voice broke. "I'm sorry…. I… I wasn't going to tell you… I thought that… it might be better if…." She swallowed. "If you never knew…." Then you and Chris would still love me.Jason chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, less fat, but still chubby." He said, smiling brightly. Though he joked, he was happy to see himself improving again. Then he raised an eyebrow. "Who said I'm ready to let you go yet?" he said, a smile playing on his lips. "I mean to lock you up in a tower and keep you safe forever."
Antony nodded in agreement. "So then, we talk to Ashley about it first…" he suggested. "And then we can get you signed up for an appointment with a female doctor?"
Danny shook his head upset "you weren't going to tell me at all...you were going to live with me and get married with that lie..." He put his hands behind his head and shook his head turning away from her "I don't know what to do...you know how many people you hurt?...you lied to me and your family...I can't do this right now, I love you but I can't forgive you for this..." He swore and stormed away the tears streaming down his face.Delaney smirked and shook her head "I can't live in sin anymore...I need to get married and I want to get married to this guy ok?..." She grabbed Brandon's arm "I kind of love him you know..."
Miranda sighed "just get the appointnent made...Ash has enough on her plate and well...I'm a big girl I can go to a doctor..."
Krissy was good at hiding her emotions, and she was trying desperately to look calm, to look sorry, to look composed, but that all broke and came crashing down on her, tears welling in her eyes. "Please…. Daniel…" A million scattered words flew around her, more excuses, more reasons. "I…I'm sorry!" Was all she managed to choke out, but she knew it was too late for that. Daniel's last words hit her hard, and for a moment, she just watched him storm away, stunned. And then the tears broke free and rolled down her cheeks. If Daniel finding out had been this heart breaking, then she knew she couldn't let anyone else discover what had happened. They would all be mad at her, and they had reason to be. But Krissy didn't want to face them. So she did the one thing she could do, she spun on her heel and ran.Jason sighed softly, shaking his head. "Such a proud, strong headed daughter have I." He kissed her cheek, his smile soft. "I'm happy for you baby, even if I am going to miss you." He said seriously.
Antony nodded, remembering that this had been one of the issues they were discussing earlier. Ashley needed more rest. Then he smirked. "I know very well that you're a big girl. Alright. Shall we call a doctor then? Or would you rather go to the walk in clinic?"
Malibu contacted Laila, he knew the girl was lying something was going on "Laila..it's Mali did the girl come and get Chris and go somewhere?..." He asked watching the baby. He looked out and saw Krissy run "shit! Laila Krissy is running away, you've got to catch her something is going on...she was gone an hour with IV marks and glazed look in her eyes..."Dekaney smiled "you'll always have me daddy...I promise...just giving you another son, growing our family." She smiled at Jace "so I want to get to know my little brother, let us go to dinner...ok?"
Mira sighed "walk in would be fine...I want a woman though...and I want it at the agency..." She coughed and threw up more "and I want an anti-nausea....because I am losing 5 pounds by doing this..."
Laila picked up the phone and frowned. "No… Chris is right here…" She started, slightly confused. Her eyes widened when he spoke again and she shook her head, heaving herself out of bed. "Oh no… Ok. I'm on it Mali. Thanks." She said, hanging up. IV marks? What was that about? Laila wasn't completely better yet, but she felt rested enough to get out of bed. She wrapped a housecoat from the bathroom around herself and tied the sash as she jogged out into the hallway and down towards Mali's room, where sure enough, she saw Krissy sprinting towards her, tears streaming down her face. "Krissy! Krissy wait!" Laila called, jogging towards her. Krissy shook her head. "Go away! Please! Just leave me alone!" She ducked into a supply closet and shut the door, locking it.
Jason smiled softly, loving his daughter so much. He loved the person she had grown to be.
Jace smiled a little then, shrugging. "I'm free all week." He said honestly, his smile genuine.
Antony chuckled, shaking his head. "My my, so particular." He teased, rubbing her shoulders gently. "Alright, we'll go to the agency, and get you checked, and make sure that they give you an anti-nausea." he promised.
Chris quickly sprinted out with her love, Daniel had come back with a bouquet of flowers and frowned following them to the supply closet "Kriss honey...please come out, everyone is super worried...please? No one is mad we are just worried about you..." Chris knocked on the door "Krissy?..."Delaney clapped her hands excited "what about tonight? You can choose where we go and I'll pay ok?" She couldn't believe she was meeting a brother, she always wanted to have siblings.
Miranda walked with him downstairs and frowned holding onto his hand "maybe im a little nervous...I've never seen a doctor, I've never needed to..."
Krissy shook her head, she could hardly see straight because she was crying so hard. "No! Go away!" She cried, her voice high pitched and wavering as she sobbed. Not one to just give up, she dislodged the ventilation grate and crawled inside, trying to get away from everyone. Daniel's words floated back to her… I can't forgive you for this… Krissy pressed her hand into her mouth to bite back a scream and forced herself to keep shuffling forwards. Laila frowned in worry, glancing over at Daniel and the flowers. Why had Krissy been crying so hard? "Daniel, could you shed some light on this please? What happened?"
Jace's smile lit up a little brighter, as he liked being asked his opinion, and he already knew the place he would choose for them to go to. He knew Tuscany, and all of Italy very well. "That sounds great. But I should pay. You're not supposed to let the girl pay after all. Common courtesy and all that." he said, winking.
Antony rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand as they walked into the clinic. "You'll do great. The doctors are all really nice." He promised, smiling over at her. "This will be over in just a couple minutes, and then you can cross 'go see a doctor' off your bucket list." he teased.
Danny sighed and shook his head "she had an abortion...I was upset because she did it without even talking to me...so I got upset...and said things I don't mean..." He sighed jiggling the knob and shaking the door "she's not in there!" He needed to break in and hold her. Chris had everyone stand back and kicked open the door and going inside ducked his head in the gate "Squish...please come out...The whole family is a wreck worried about you...I'm not mad about the abortion I promise...I just want to help..."Delaney laughed "you sound like dad...how about we split the check? I don't want you to pay for everything I don't even let Brandon do that..." She smiled "so what time should we go?"
Mira smiled and leaned her head against his as they waited for the doctor, she pecked his cheek "I don't think that was ever on my bucket list...you better be there or im not doing it..."
Laila clasped her hand over her mouth, wincing. Poor girl… to have to do that by herself, and feel like she had to lie to everyone to do it. She stayed outside the store room, feeling like two men crowded in there would probably already be quite a bit for Krissy. So she just hugged her arms to herself and waited. Krissy stopped crawling and just sat in the shaft, staring at the metal wall as the tears ran down her face. He wasn't mad? Could she trust that that was the truth? No. But her heart ached, and she needed to feel loved again. Even if he was mad, if he held her after, it would be worth it. So Krissy slowly turned around in the pipe, and keeping her eyes fixed on the metal below her, she slowly crawled towards the entrance again.
Jace smiled then, proud that he at least was a little bit like his father. "Alright, deal, we'll split it." He agreed, smiling. "We can leave at seven? Then we'd catch the sunset on the way back and it will be a little cooler for you out in the town." he offered, knowing that Italy could get quite hot.
Antony smiled softly, keeping one arm around her as they waited. He wasn't worried about this at all, as he knew it wasn't anything too serious, just a quick look. "Alright, alright. I'll come in with you." He promised. "Might make the doctors a little uneasy though."
Chris held her tightly when she came out and kissed her head tears coming out of his eyes "Krissy...I wish you would have just told me, I can't believe you kept that huge secret to yourself...Im here for you and Daniel has been worried sick..." Danny handed her the flowers "I'm sorry Kass, of course I forgive you...I just want to be the one you can talk to about anything..."Delaney nodded "I think that would be gorgeous, I have to get my baby to sleep but then I'll be ready ok? It'll be fun...I cant believe that we haven't know eachother all our lives..."
Miranda smiled and pecked his cheek as she was called back by the nurse, she sat on the table looking around curiously "always wondered what it looked like..." she held up the hospital gown and tilted her head "how?..."
Laila nodded in understanding. "Yeah, call him and let him know you're alright." She urged. "There were a lot of people worried about you while you were sleeping." She said honestly. "Including me." She looked over at him. "It was a long long time to watch you sleeping there."
Antony turned, and then it was his turn to pale. That looked a lot like Derrick. But that wasn't possible. He was dead. Antony back up a bit, putting a protective arm over Mira. "Hey man…" He said softly, nervous. "You real?" He asked, not sure he wanted to know the answer.
