message 251: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan shook his head "nonsense!" He left for the closet in the master bedroom and pulled out a beautiful seafoam dress and undergarments "I don't know what girls like I had to ask the store owner..."

The morning had come and the plank along with Drina washed up onto the shore, she was bedraggled and waterlogged but very much alive. The sun felt nice against her warm skin and she started to cough out the huge gulps of sea water. Her eyes slowly opened, she had no idea where she was... "Jay?" She called out weakly hoping her spell had worked.

message 252: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments "Oh..." Charlotte exclaimed, standing on wobbly legs to slowly reach out and brush her fingers against the fabric. "Its the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" She said, her eyes filling with tears. After being treated like an animal for so long, she had no idea how to react to such kindness.

Jay had eventually drifted off, sleeping in his little bubble as it nudged against the sandy shores of a small Caribbean island. He did not wake, not even then. He was too exhausted. And frankly, the interior of the bubble was nice and warm... maybe verging on too warm.... but Jay still did not wake.

message 253: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled loving to see that she was so happy. He carefully helped her with the undergarments and kept the corset very very lose. He couldn't help but kiss down her back and shoulders so in love with her. He undid the hooks down the back and slipped on the silky dress "fits perfectly..."

Drina was pretty wounded from crashing against the parts of the ship. The spell had worn off and Jay was laying on the sand.
A very wealthy merchant stepped out and found them, he quickly had his servants take them inside and tend to them.

message 254: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled, looking down at herself as he helped her into beautiful undergarments and then slowly into the silk dress. She ran her hands over the skirt as he did up the back. Once it was on, she spun and hugged him tightly, kissing his cheek. "Thank you! It's the nicest thing I have ever owned."

When Jay slowly woke, he first noticed that he was lying on clean sheets, in a nice clean bed, and his eyes snapped open, startled. "Hello?" he asked, finding he could not sit up. It was as if gravity was too strong, or his limbs were too exhausted. "What... where am I?" He mumbled, his head throbbing painfully.

message 255: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled and held her close "you look beautiful...a sea princess." He hugged her from the back and kissed her neck. "I want you to stay...with me honey." He said softly wondering what she would think.

A maid came in, she wore the crisp white uniform and carried a pot of tea and biscuits . "Good morning...you have been asleep for a long time. We found you shipwrecked on the beach." She lay the tray on the table and helped him sit up.

message 256: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled, blushing a little. Leaning into his arms, her heart pounding, she thought about it. Staying with him meant leaving the ocean. It meant staying dry. But it also meant having her love. "I want to stay too." She said, smiling happily.

Jay sat up slowly with her help and nodded, nibbling the biscuits and sipping some of the tea. "Pray tell me where we are. And who's house am I in?" He asked, looking around. That was when he spotted Drina on a bed near him. He exhaled in relief. "She's alive." he said sighing. "How is she doing?"

message 257: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan felt his heart leap for joy and he tucked her hair strand behind her ear and kissed her lovingly "we'll go to the ocean at times too...I don't want you to have to leave your home." He assured and took her hand leading her to the kitchen. Her bag was in the sink and he started to shell them to start the gumbo.

The maid opened the white curtains letting in the sun, she smiled over at him "you are at Señor Domingo's prestige mansion, in the beautiful Caribbean. He is very generous to ship wrecked victims, you may stay as long as you like." She looked over at Drina and sighed "the physician said she is very injured, she wakes every once in awhile but not for long."

message 258: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled and kissed him back, her heart swelling. She nodded a little, but didn't say what she was really thinking. She didn't want him to go into the ocean again. She didn't want to lose him. Once was one time too many. Following him into the kitchen, she pulled out a crab and worked beside him to gather the meat from the animals she had brought back.

Jay relaxed a little when he knew where he was. He had not heard of this Domingo before, but he was very grateful to him. "Give your master my sincere thanks for his help." He said, finishing his tea. At the mention of Drina's state, Jay frowned a little in worry. "Will she heal?" He asked hopefully. He had no idea of the extent of her injuries.

message 259: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan watched with a smile and cleaned out the other crab "how would you crack the hard shells in the ocean?" He asked using the silver cracker and scraping out the delectable meat. He paused "do you speak to them? I mean while hunting can you hear them?" It was so fascinating to him, she was incredible.

The maid nodded "he is not at the estate of now, but I will give him your gratitude when he returns." She assured, moving to Drina's side she nodded "oh she will, it isn't fetal and it is mostly rib breaks. Do you know her? We have a communication barrier and I feel she does not understand."

message 260: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled, glad he was interested. She enjoyed telling him about her own species. "Yes. I can hear them. But their tongue is too undefined to be spoken by us. Mostly just noises of joy or annoyance, no real words." She explained. "Crabs aren't as sophisticated as the whales and dolphins that we can actually talk with." She said, cracking open a lobster. "As for cracking their shells... well. I would bite them open. I have fangs I can hide or reveal should I want to. That's why biting Jason left a scar."

"Thank you." He said, nodding. Then Jay sighed in relief, relaxing a little. So she would live. That was a huge relief for him as he had been very worried for her sake. "I did know her. We were on the ship that sunk together. She does not speak English." He explained. "She comes from the East, and speaks the language of that country."

message 261: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan nodded in amazement and focused on cracking open an oyster, inside was a perfect pink very rare pearl that he handed her "a precious pearl for my precious girl." He said very amourously. He just wanted to know everything, he wanted to teach her everything it was a love that was carried by curiosity.

The maid smiled grateful that he was familier with the girl. "Thank goodness, I had feared that no one would be able to understand...we gave her a bath and she wouldn't allow it...got very defensive and even more so being dressed in a night gown."

message 262: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte took the pearl gingerly, admiring it. "You Stefan, have just found your first pearl." She said reverently. Pearl collecting was important to merfolk. It was like getting a job, and earning your worth. And he had just giving it to her, a huge gesture in her culture. She hugged him. "Thank you." She said, opening her locket and putting the pearl inside. "Now it is close to my heart. Like you are."

Jay rolled his shoulders to try and get some of the stiffness out of them from being in bed so long. "Yes. That sounds a lot like her." He agreed, smiling softly. "She is not familiar with our customs." He explained. "Once I have my strength back, I can help care for her. Make your work a little easier." He offered.

message 263: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled feeling instant pride that she loved it so much, he scraped out the meat and smiled "I love the taste of good sea food!" He started to chop of the vegetables "what is your favorite food?"

The maid curtsied and smiled "of course sir, thank you. She'd trust you more..." Drina started to wake up and moaned feeling sick, Jay had drowned because of her...the spell didn't work. She hated being there and how flouncy everything was. Her dark usually scraggly and dirty was smooth and braided back with a pink ribbon. Bandages were wrapped around her mid section but she'd rather die...Jay was dead.

message 264: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte laughed. "So do I." She said, mixing ingredients for buns to go with the gumbo. "Does crab count as a favourite food?" She asked, not looking up from her work. She kneaded the dough and sectioned it into rolls. "I love crab. Anyway its prepared." She said. "But I have been enjoying some land foods as well. Like the meat you have here. What do you call it.... ham? It's really good."

Jay smiled a little as Drina started to wake. She looked far less like a vagabond, and much more like a lady, a lady who belonged in the fancy houses and extravagant balls and parties of his home land. "Morning princess." He said, sitting up a little more. "How did you sleep?"

message 265: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled and watched her knead the dough "how do you know how to make bread?" She always surprised him everyday. He chuckled and nodded "ham, it's from the animal pig. I'll make you some bacon! It is tastier then ham by a long shot!"

Drina blinked hearing her language, her smile grew when she realized it was Jay's voice "you're alive..." She said her heart filling with light and hope again. "Are you alright?..." She reached out her hand wanting his.

message 266: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte grinned. "Oh darling, I am not oblivious of your customs. Bread is very easy to make." She teased, kissing his cheek. She slipped the bread into the oven and added a few more logs to the fire so it would cook faster. "I would love to try this... bacon." She agreed, smiling. "And I would love to see a ... a... pig as well."

Jay laughed lightly, squeezing her hand. "Of course I am alive. Surely you know by now that I am not that easy to kill." he said, grinning. "I am fine. Tired, but that will pass." He promised, turning to face her. "But I hear you were giving the maids some trouble." He grinned. "Are you feeling ok?"

message 267: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled "I will take you to a farm and you may meet all sorts of land creatures that we use for food." He promised "what animals have you seen before? I'm assuming birds?" He asked starting to boil the water in a huge metal pot.

Drina smiled weakly and winced shutting her eyes "I got beaten up by the sea...it hurts a bit, I've had a headache since I woke up on the shore..." She rolled her eyes "look what they have done to me!"

message 268: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled, excited. "That sounds great!" She agreed, watching her buns cook, careful not to burn them. "Yes. I have seen birds. And the elephants and tigers in the circus." She said, sighing. "But that is all. Otherwise, I have only seen sea creatures."

Jay nodded, his worry for her dwindling a little. She sounded ok, which was a very good thing. "Yes. You look..." beautiful He thought. "Much better." He said, smiling a little. "I think I can actually make out your features now." he teased. "Before they were hiding under all that dirt." He said, joking.

message 269: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled "we can have a menasary...all sorts of animals that you could take care of..." He promised, all he wanted was her happiness and she cared about animals. This was their beach paradise and money wasn't an issue.

Drina frowned her lilac eyes almost somber "I never was dirty...I washed in the stream..." She insisted and winced curling and wrapping her arms around her stomach "ugh...hurts..." She whimpered trying to get out of bed.

message 270: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Chaelotte grinned, pulling out her bread from the oven. "Oh wouldbt that be wonderful?" She said, setting the buns down to cool. She came over beside him then, to see how the gumbo was coming. "Smells good." She commented.

Jay smiled gently. "I know. I was teasing you. Its called a joke." He stood off his bed slowly and walked over to her, taking her hand in his own. "You should probably take it slow. Lets just try to sit up first, ok?" He suggested, helping her up by suppoting her back with one hand.

message 271: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled and brought the spoon to her lips "careful it is hot." He warned. The gumbo was the perfect blend of flavors and fish the kind of meal you would want to eat on a cold day.

Drina allowed him to help her but her stomach ached so even though he was being very gentle. She propped herself up on the pillows and lay back smiling over at him "thank you..." She just couldn't believe that he was really alright.

message 272: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte nodded, blowing on it a little before sipping the food. She let her eyes float closed and she sighed, satisfied. "That is beautiful..." She breathed, opening her eyes again. "You have to try it." She insisted, taking the spoon from him and dipping it in again, before bringing it up to his lips.

Jay nodded, standing back a little. "No problem." He said, watching her for any signs of pain. "You're ok then? Comfortable?" He asked. He felt it was his fault for losing her during the wreck. He felt responsible for her condition, and he felt awful about it.

message 273: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled and slowly sipped the spoon "Mmm you are correct my love, that is not bad at all!" He nuzzled her neck and kissed her. "I'll get some butter and we can put it on these delicious buns and have a feast!" He picked up some bowls and carefully poured them each a serving.

Drina saw the worry creased on his face and felt guilty for causing him to feel that. So she lied and nodded "very comfortable, thank you...you should go walk around on the beach, I'm sure it's beautiful out there."

message 274: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte nodded, grabbing some butter and a knife from the drawer. She split open two buns and sliced off a bit of butter which she carefully spread over their steaming surfaces. Adding the buns to the plates which she brought over to the table and set down for them.

Jay smiled wryly. "So eager to get rid of me?" He asked, tipping his head a little in inquiry. "Darling, I'm not leaving you like this. You're obviously in pain. The maid said your ribs broke. I just want to help." he said seriously. "I feel responsible for... for what happened." He said honestly, sighing.

message 275: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan laid a lace table covering it as he lay the steaming bowls and rolls at their table settings. He poured some pear juice into the cups and smiled "what do you think about hiring a maid or servant?"

Drina shook her head "not trying to rid of you, not at all! I just hate causing you worry, it's a theme for us...you are not responsible at all! I could have protected both of us and I didn't." She leaned her head on his shoulder "it doesn't hurt much when you are here..." She liked when he called her darling and honey.

message 276: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte sat at the table, looking at the glorious feast before them in delight. She couldn't wait to start on it, but as was polite, she would wait for Stefan to be seated and start eating first. "A servant would be nice." She agreed. "As long as we have the money to pay them fairly." She added.

Jay smiled a little, sitting on the bed beside her. "Well I am sorry none the less. I could have done something... and I did not." he sighed heavily. "Do you want something? Food or something?" He wanted to make her feel better.

message 277: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan nodded and gave a smile "of course! I earned enough and I have pleanty of gold still. If funds get low we could go under water and find sunken treasure!" He chuckled and took a sip "so delicious..." He pulled out a paper and quill "let's make a list of everything you'd like to experience and see on land."

Drina nodded "food sounds wonderful...the maids did not understand what I was trying to say, so they left me be..." She sighed holding onto his chest and snuggling in "I'm very grateful that we are together again...you'd get bored without me." She teased lightly.

message 278: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte ate the food slowly, savoring every bite. "That sounds wonderful." she agreed. Then she smiled. "I want to see everything! Just take me to places that you like. I want to see your world too." She said, smiling gently at him. After all, she had shown him her own.

Jay laughed. "That I would." he agreed, stroking her hair gently in a soothing manner. "Life would just be dull." He got off the bed again, with a slight look of apology. "I'll go find you some food and be right back, ok?" he asked.

message 279: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan chuckled and shrugged "It's not quite as fascinating as yours though...I'll try and show you everything, and bring here what we can't go to. Anything you want I'll get for you." He promised and kissed her cheek.

Drina nodded and smiled letting go of his hand slowly so that he could leave. Her heart was softening to the point of those prissy ladies who she used to mock. But he made her feel so delicate and cared for she'd trust him with her life. Was this love?

message 280: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled. "Still. I want to get to know you better. Better understand where you grew up." She said, smiling. When he offered to get her anything she smiled softly and kissed his cheek. "I wonder if you love me too much Stefan. I don't deserve the world."

Jay wandered down to the kitchens quickly, asking for some nice fresh bread, and any sort of warm stew they had handy so she could eat it easily. It was comfort food, and he wanted to make sure she was feeling ok. He didn't know why, but he just felt so protective over this girl. As if she was his responsibility.

message 281: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan shook his head "there is no such thing as loving too much, and I want to give you the world. I don't remember anything of my childhood Char, I'll show you around here but I don't know much about where I'm from."

Drina looked up and smiled seeing him come through the doorframe again, even in that very short period of time she missed him. What had this solider done to her? "That looks delicious..." She moved over so that he would lay by her again as they maids set up an eating tray for them.

message 282: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte frowned softly, "Were you always in the circus, Stefan?" She asked, almost not wanting to hear the answer. She hated the thought of her Stefan in the circus. The image of his abused back caused her to shiver. She hated that place with a passion.

Jay didn't object and got on the bed again, sitting beside her. "Yes, it does, doesn't it?" he asked, waiting for the maids to set up the tray for them, before he scooped some stew on a spoon and held it forwards for her. "And it will make you strong again."

message 283: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan sighed "I...remember a fire, and screaming...other then that it was circus after circus, no one wanted me...till I finally gave in...and subdued the fire. Then I saw you and the spark came back!" He said honestly and stroke her face "I love you."

Drina took a careful sip and smiled at the warmth "darling...I can feed myself I am not yet a helpless maiden!" She sipped again and sighed "but that is delicious! "

message 284: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte looked down, feeling so badly for him. The poor boy had a heck of a life. "Im very sorry." She whispered, looking to him. "I hate that that happened to you." She hugged him and closed her eyes. "I wouldnt have been able to bear the circus that long."

Jay smiled softly. "Yes well. If you let me feed you I wont be so bored, sitting here with nothing to do." He said seriously, scooping anither spoonful for her. "Eat up. Seriously. It will make you better again."

message 285: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan held her close and gently kissed her head running his fingers through her hair "I'm fine..." He assured her and tilted her chin up so he could kiss her "my future is what matters now, and it seems very bright." He smiled and nuzzled her "now enough about me, I'm curious about mermaid eggs."

Drina sipped at the stew and closed her eyes loving the rich taste and warmth. She smiled up at him and nodded "alright, but only to appease you." She insisted and lay her head on his shoulder again.

message 286: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte hugged him back, feeling a little better now because of it. "Well I am glad I can be part of that future." She said softly, smiling. She blushed a little, leaning her forehead against his. "Mermaid eggs?" She repeated. "Well... they take a month to be made. Then they are warmed for two weeks. After that, I don't know what happens. Parents usually leave the egg to fend for itself." She explained, shrugging.

Jay smiled, glad he had convinced her to let him. "Thanks hun." he said, continuing to feed her the soup. It had chunks of meat and potato in it, and he knew it would be very helpful in getting her back to full health. He felt like it was his job to make sure she was healthy again, especially after everything that had happened. He held one of her hands as she ate, finding it was the natural thing to do.

message 287: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan nodded fascinated by it all, if they were to have a child it would come from an egg. It was so unusual and yet felt normal. "What are signs to tell that you are developing an egg?" He asked not wanting to embarrass her but really just wanted to know.

Drina smiled loving the way his thumb stroke over her hand, it felt nice. Being near him just made her so happy, my how things had changed. She remembered the hatred they had for one another "seems like you are taking care of me one way or the other." She mused and took another sip.

message 288: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled a little. "Same signs as a pregnancy." She said. "It just doesn't last as long, and I don't go through the pains of birth." she explained. "That's another thing. I'd have to have my tail when the egg came out, or... well... it might not work so well with legs."

Jay nodded, smiling a little. "You got that right. And you can't argue out of it." He said seriously. "You're under my protection now, and I need to see it through." He said seriously. "Besides, after everything, you deserve to be taken care of for a while." He said, smiling down at her. He split the bun for her and handed her a half.

message 289: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan nodded in understanding "would it have to be born in the ocean or could we make the pool comfortable? Listen to me...as if I'm already expecting it..." He shook his head smiling sheepishly.

Drina nodded feeling loved and special, it was a nice feeling. "You won't leave after I am well though...right?" She asked worriedly hoping she didn't seem desperate or clingy. She pulled off a piece from the bun and fed it to him.

message 290: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte smiled and kissed his cheek gently. "It is normal to be worried about these things Stefan. It is unlikely we would have a child on the first try, but it will happen eventually." She promised, smiling softly. "The pool will work fine." She promised. "It is water after all, is it not?" She teased.

Jay ate the bread she fed to him, but when he swallowed, his smile had lessened. "Not immediately." He promised. "I'll get you on another ship to America." He promised. "Then you can start your new life." He sighed softly. "But I won't be joining you then.

message 291: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan chuckled and nodded "you are right darling..." He nuzzled her gently "I guess I'm a little ahead of myself, it's all just so wonderful!" He expressed and finished his bowl slurping it.

Drina felt her heart sink and she swallowed not feeling the lightness she had before "I said that I would erase their memory..." She reminded her voice quiet "would you go back to England?..."

message 292: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte laughed lightly and hugged him. "I don't mind at all. It's nice not being alone." She said seriously, wiping out the last of her gumbo with a piece of bread, which she ate.

Jay sighed softly. "I know. But I want you to have the best chance possible in America. And starting off by hiding a fugitive would not help your chances at all." he said seriously. "As for England, I don't know. I'll probably just look for work wherever I can find it."

message 293: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan nodded and smiled lightly he took the bowls and plates to go and wash them in the kitchen. "I've always wanted a family..." He admitted and smiled at her. "I'd watch the kids at the circus when I was young and wonder where my parents were...of course I found out later..."

Drina shook her head "I'm not going if you aren't...and I will be stubborn about that, I don't speak English so I couldn't find a job or even get around, I need you Jay..." She said seriously refusing to let the tears that were threatening to fall be seen.

message 294: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte nodded. "I never thought much about family. I never had one that I knew of, and merpeople don't really raise them either." She said honestly. "But having a family with you sounds very nice." She said, helping him clean up the dishes. "If you don't mind me asking, where are your parents?"

Jay was a little surprised by the emotion that suddenly appeared on her features and he nodded slowly. "Alright." He said softly. "I'll stay, but only because you insist." He said seriously. "And if I am the reason you get burned at the stake, you are not going to blame me, ok?" He teased.

message 295: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan sighed "they are dead." He said simply not really wanting to get into it "what was your childhood like?...how was it being alone?" He asked drying off the dishes and putting them away carefully.

Drina sighed in relief and hugged him close not even able to respond with a sarcastic comment at his remark. She was just grateful he wasn't leaving her, she didn't know his feelings towards her except protector but she knew her heart would break if they were to seperate. What was happening to her?...

message 296: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte bit her lip, knowing better than to ask further. Instead, she answered his question. "It was scary at first. I had no idea what I should do, how to hunt, how to survive at all. But I learned. The dolphins and rays helped me." She said, shrugging.

Jay smiled a little, kissing her hair gently. "You are one strange girl, you know that?" he asked. "And I think a nice bath would do you good." he said seriously, cleaning up their dishes. "So, will you let the maids help you with a bath this time? Or do I need to supervise?"

message 297: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan smiled "that's incredible...I guess you all just work together to survive right?...did you ever go to school or learn lessons?" Kind of a ridiculous question to ask now that he thought of it, but he was naive at best.

Drina sighed "I don't like them..." She mumbled and shrugged a shoulder, he had already seen everything already so it wasn't that big of a deal to her. She hated the whole process sitting in the tub while they dump water on her head and strange soaps that were meant to smell nice but they were revolting compared to her home.

message 298: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Charlotte nodded. "Yes, pretty much." She agreed. Then she shook her head sadly. "When there were great numbers of us, we had schools for learning. But now... Jason is the only other mer person I have ever spoken with. I have seen others. But never for long. Mostly swimming by on their way to some new hunting grounds." She said honestly.

Jay almost laughed at her pouting, but he knew better and bit his tongue. "Ok, fine, would you feel better if just I helped you then?" he asked, alright with doing that as well, as long as she was fine with it. But he did know that she shouldn't be left alone in a bath in her condition.

message 299: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Stefan frowned concerned "is there anyway to replenish?..I mean obviously not just us...or something we can do to bring them back?" He didn't like thinking of Char's people disappearing.

Drina sighed and nodded "yes...please, if you don't mind?" She felt almost like a child that needed to have everything done for her and she really did not enjoy it. But there was nothing she could do about it until she regained her strength.

Jay nodded, scooping her into his arms. "Sure thing." He promised, carrying her out of the room, and with a maid's direction, down the hall and into the large prestigious washroom. It even had a marble tub, with a fire right near it for the bath to be drawn. "Here we are." he said, setting her down gently in one of the chairs.
