Chris held her close and sighed kissing her head "I forgot honey...I'm so sorry Kriss why didn't Daniel stay with you? Please...I'm sorry, Laila had an emergency with the baby at our new home...do you want to see it? You get a guest house all to yourself Squish..."Delaney smiled and kissed him deeply "let's go agent boy.,.i love seeing you do your job...it's sexy!"
Krissy clung to him, shaking her head. "I didn't know you wouldn't be home, or I would have asked him to stay, but I walked home by myself. He had guitar practice." She explained. "Please don't ever do that again." Then she stepped back, breathing for a moment, before she asked hesitantly. "Guest house?"Laila was just kinda standing there, watching it all, and wondering what on earth the video of her had been.
Brandon grinned, taking her hand in his. "Come on baby. See how it's done." he said, weaving through the crowds to the old looking building that held the club. The club where they would meet the sandman.
Chris showed her the pamphlet and smiled showing her the little house "it's all yours...you can decorate it anyway you want, and Daniel can stay over and I don't have to know about it!" Delaney followed him and gasped pointing "that's him I recognize his mug shot footage...he's coming over here, ugh I still think I'm bait."
Krissy took the pamphlet and stared, her eyes widening. "It's gorgeous! Thank you!" she said, hugging him again quickly before she went back to staring at it. "Well… what are we waiting for? Let's go!" She urged, shooing them back out to the truck. Brandon nodded, catching her pointing finger in his hands and kissing it. "Careful." He whispered. "Don't want him to know we know." He said, as he shifted back the collar of the jacket a bit and kissed her shoulder.
"Enjoying Thailand I assume?" came a husky voice from behind them.
Brandon smiled, kissing Delaney's shoulder again before he straightened casually. "Yes, very much. Especially the women."
The sandman smiled then. "Yes, there are many exotic choices, though I find them too old. Youths, however, are refreshing to someone as old as me."
Chris chuckled shaking his head "let's do some packing first Krissy, I don't want to waste gas driving back and forth. I have some boxes and let's get our stuff packed and pack it into the truck and we can get rid of most our furniture and buy new ones ok? There's a furniture catalogue in the truck pick out what you like."Delaney smiled and turned to the sandman "I like the older gentleman myself...will you buy me a drink?" She slipped the jacket off but she had the gun and was prepared for anything.
Krissy sighed, but she saw the reason in that and immediately ran to gather up her stuff so they could get going quickly. She really wanted to see her new place! She had everything packed in a big box in seconds, and was waiting by the door. Meanwhile, Laila was struggling to even bend down and pick up her stuff to put into boxes, but she was being a good sport, kneeling and getting up at least a thousand times before she had two boxes packed. "I'm sorry Chris, but I don't think I'll be much help lifting the furniture today…"Brandon watched as the sandman's eyes turned greedy, and he nearly lost his resolve just then. But he knew their agreement, and he would have to wait. Man, would he enjoy later tonight when he had her to himself. Focus 103, get to the alley. He said, taking his jacket back as Delaney slipped off with the sandman who smiled at her, leading her to the drink bar. "What would you like my dear?"
Chris shook his head "stop love, I'll pack for you...no more, you can pick up one pillow that's it." He said picking up her boxes and his sisters "aw you still have flippsy bunny...thought you got rid of that years ago Krissy...I remember when I gave you that...hope it doesn't smell like meth anymore."Delaney smiled and sat by him and batted her eyes at him "anything you want sir, you seem to have distinguished tastes." She had a bottle of poison in her hand going to pour it in his drink.
Laila shook her head, but she smiled, sitting on the couch as she waited for him. Krissy blushed when he found her bunny and she snatched it away, clutching it to herself. "No… I have it for… safe keeping." she lied. Then she sniffed it and laughed softly. "Yeah sure, maybe it does. I wouldn't be able to tell. I've had this thing for so long."He smiled, buying them both martinis he took her glass and fed her a sip, all the while laughing. Beneath the bar bench, his hand snuck out and grabbed her wrist, crushing it until he heard the clatter of the poison bottle on the ground. Then he smiled. "Let's go outside, shall we? I have no more appetite for drinks. My heart is set on something else." He said, pushing out the back door. He slammed her against the brick wall then, pinning her up against it with his body as he kissed her hard.
That was when a shot rang out, and he jerked away, and then another, this one creating a nice hole in his forehead. The sandman toppled over sideways, revealing Brandon standing behind him, a gun in his hand. "Bout time. He was getting on my nerves."
Chris smiled and hugged her tightly "I think it's adorable, makes me feel like your still the little girl I practically raised." He made it dance and put it back in the box smiling at Laila "ready to go back to our perfect home? You'll love it Kriss."Delaney sighed in relief and hugged him tightly "I think he bruised my wrist he knew I was trying to poison him, we have to find the kids Brandon...let's go to the basement I heard little screams down there."
Krissy smiled softly and rolled her eyes. "Don't push it you big softie." She said, skipping out to the truck, "Come on, slow pokes, I want to see my house!"Laila chuckled, watching her skip out before she turned to Chris and smiled. "Hey big man, want to carry me out? I'm feeling like a ride. If you're strong enough that is…" She patted her stomach. "This adds a few extra pounds."
Brandon hugged her back, slipping his jacket back around her shoulders. "Basement is always a good place to check." he agreed, and he walked back into the club with her, pushing through the crowds to the basement door.
Chris smiled and carried her bridal style out to the truck and got her seat belt on and kissed her belly "we are going to need a better car for a car seat Laila, let's sell the truck soon ok? It'll get some good money hopefully."Delaney gasped and ran to a Thai little girl who was no more then three "oh honey...are you ok, do you speak any English?" She asked trying to comfort her "Brand we gotta get her out of here..."
Laila bit her lip, looking over at Chris then, "Oh baby… you love this truck! Can't work pay for you to keep this, and a van for the kid?" She asked, hating to see him give his pride and joy away. This truck meant so much to him, and she knew that. There were four kids in the basement, total. All of them under the age of five. Brandon nodded. "Grab two, I'll grab the other two." He said, putting one kid on each hip. Then he snuck out the back door with her and jogged towards the jet.
Chris shook his head kissing her lips and smiling "I want to, makes me become the adult I need to be, I'm going to be a dad not a college bachelor anymore...thank you for thinking about me."The little girl would leave her, she was attached to the hip woukdnt go play or eat like the other kids, she frowned and held her close "honey...you should eat..." She made the motion of eating obviously not knowing Thai, where was Mali when you needed him.
Laila's eyes filled with tears, and not completely sad because his truck was going, but also happy because he was putting their family first, and he cared so much. She blushed and covered her face. "Oh don't look at me… I'm hormonal." she sniffled, wiping her eyes. Brandon sat at the console, programming the ship to get back to headquarters, where they could find homes for the kids. He then came back over to Delaney and smiled at her. "Hows it going?" he asked, looking around at the four kids who were currently wreaking havoc on the jet, all but the one she was holding.
Chris chuckled and got in the front seat "alright no one look at my fiancé, Krissy get off your phone you are going to want to know how to get tgere...dog ear the pages you want from thd catalogue please im getting rid of all our furniture."Delaney rocked the girl "I need a translator...but she won't leave me...I got her to try a graham cracker...do we have parents yet?" She asked kissing her dirty hair and sighing "she's still a baby..."
Krissy looked up from her phone and groaned, shutting it off. The groan dissolved, however, when she heard what he said and she giggled. "Yes!!" She cried, looking through the pamphlet at all the lovely furniture. "Do we have a budget?"Brandon smiled softly. "I can solve that for you." he said, pulling out two small buds from his watch. He taped one to her neck, and fit the other in her ear. "Now you'll hear English, and it'll sound like you're speaking whatever language it is that the person you're talking to speaks." he explained, looking down at the little girl. "She's one of the foster kids. The other two are siblings, and they have parents. The last foster kid is a boy, the oldest. He's six."
Chris rolled his eyes "try not to spend over 10,000 ok? Is that enough for you? I want the rest of my paycheck to go to the nursery...we need a lot for the munchkin." He smiled at Laila and kissed her cheek "love you...I'm going to spoil our little girl."Delaney smiled at the girl "hi there...my name is Delaney, you are safe, no one is going to hurt you...are you hungry or thirsty?..." She asked in Thai smoothing her hair back and smiling motherly.
Krissy sighed heavily and nodded. "Fine…. I guess that will do." She said, secretly, she was grinning in the back, looking through all the wonderful things that 10k could get her. Laila groaned then. "Oh no. She's going to be a daddy's girl, you know that? And I'm going to be the bad guy." She shook her head. "oh… and we were going to get that ultrasound done."
The small girl looked up in surprise. "Del… del… a… nay…" She mumbled. "Food." She said, pressing both her hands against Delaney's stomach in demand, "Mummy. Food."
Chris smiled "no ones going to be the bad guy...we will both love and spoil her, she'll be a perfect angel...big brown eyes with chestnut hair just like her mama." He squeezed her hand "I thought you were done with doctors peeking in you..."Delaney nodded and got her a plate of food and fed her, she absolutely loved being called Mummy "better? Do you want some juice?" She asked getting a soppy cup of apple juice.
Laila laughed softly. "Spoil, and angel, are two words that definitely do not go together." She teased. "But yeah, she'll be an angel. Don't know about the whole, looking like me part. She might look mostly like you, you know." She shrugged sheepishly. "yeah, I don't want doctors looking at me. But I do want to see our baby…" She admitted. The little girl ate the food like she was ravenous, like she hadn't eaten in decades. Then she clapped her hands and nodded, reaching for the cup and immediately sticking it in her mouth, sucking contentedly as she watched Delaney from over the rim.
Chris smiled "tomorrow morning then...how about that? And we can go to breakfast...I want to see our baby, make sure she really is ok...all safe in her nice warm room..."Delaney kissed her forehead and rocked her gently "it's ok...your safe honey...mommy has you..." She looked at Brandon "how are the others doing?"
Laila smiled softly, nodding in agreement. "Tomorrow sounds good." she agreed. "And breakfast sounds wonderful too." She said honestly, smiling at him. "Warm room, eh? Not that roomy, but I suppose…" She said, patting her stomach. She laughed. "Its her first nursery."The little girl smiled then, a hesitant smile that was distorted around the nozzle of the bottle. Brandon smiled over at her from where he was under a pile of three kids, climbing on his back. "They seem fine…"
Chris smiled and parked "Krissy here we are, let's check out your new house alright? Are you spending all my money back there?" He smiled and opened the door helping his wife onto the sand "we could get amazing pregnancy photo shoots here."Delaney laughed watching them "I contacted some parents...they only want the three...they don't want her." She was speaking Englush so the girl couldn't understand her. She took away the empty bottle and smiled at her holding her close and looking down at her dirty face "can I wash you?" She asked in Thai
Krissy whooped and jumped out of the car, grinning like a maniac. "It's mine! It's all mine! Woohooo!" she said, running off and disappearing into the guest cottage. Laila raised an eyebrow as she leaned on Chris as she got out. "I take it she likes the place…" She said, chuckling. Then she nodded. "When I'm bigger, we should do some photo shoots here." She suggested. "To commemorate this moment in time." she smiled lightly.
Brandon nodded, trying to stand, but getting pulled down by the kids. "Off you little monkeys." He muttered. Then he smiled. "Great. They'll be happy to go back to their parents." he said, smiling over at the girl. "What happens to that one?"
The little girl looked up at Delaney and nodded solemnly, allowing for her to wash her.
Chris nodded and smiled nuzzling her "a white sundress...barefoot near the waves, It would be beautiful..." He smiled at her and kissed her cheek "it's everything I always wanted and never thought I could have..."Delaney got her into a tub and got her undressed covering her mouth at the marks on her skin and slowly got her cleabed she got bubbles in the tub and found a ducky she could play with "Brand...she's been molested and tortured..."
Laila smiled, wrapping his arms around her stomach from behind. "You holding me like this." She said, leaning back a little. "And me smiling like this." She looked up at him. "You better believe this is real, Chris. You made this happen. You loved me on your own, you have built this family…" she beamed. "You should be very proud."Brandon frowned, disgusted that anyone could even do such a thing. "That's despicable." He hissed, shaking his head.
The little girl didn't notice her scars. She was too young to remember much anyways. She forgot how she had gotten them. But she was thrilled when she saw the ducky and she giggled, splashing as she crawled towards it, trying to catch it.
Chris smiled and grabbed the boxes and helped her into the house putting their stuff in the bedroom "you need some new clothes...do you know any maternity clothes stores? I'd rather you shop online...but you can take my platinum card."Delaney smiled and gave it to her to hold as she cleaned her hair and braided it back smiling as she watched her play"I want her Brand..."
Laila followed him in, and watched as he brought the boxes in, wishing she could help. She looked down at her stomach and groaned. "I'm not that fat already, am I?" She asked, joking. But she nodded. "There are maternity stores all over the place. Internet works too." She promised. "You can get pretty good deals on the internet, if you're find with never trying something on."Brandon watched her wash with the smiling baby. Then he raised an eyebrow. "Want her?" he repeated. "Want her to what?" He asked, very confused.
Chris nodded "it'll be better if we stay out of the public eye as much as possible...it'll keep you out of the enemies eye and I'll feel a whole lot better about it...I'm going to check on Krissy...don't worry no one can get in." He used the door that went to the guest house "hey Squush, how you liking it?"Delaney sighed "I want to be her mommy...she needs me Brand and I won't let her go..." She said wrapping a towel around her and holding her close.
Laila nodded in agreement, shrugging. "That's alright." She promised. "I'm fine here. I'll stay here and order things off the internet." She smiled softly. Krissy looked up when Chris came in and she beamed, nodding. "It's amazing! It's my own little abode!" She gestured to the kitchen and the stairs. "with everything included!"
Brandon sighed, running a hand over his forehead. "Are you sure that's allowed?" He asked. "I'm pretty sure your father isn't going to like you taking care of a kid." he said honestly, shaking his head.
Chris smiled and nodded "Yep, which means you need to keep it clean and make sure you get your bills to me, so I can pay them...and go to the grocery store alright? Your an adult now, I'm not watching over your shoulder anymore."Delaney looked at him "does it look like I care? I can legally adopt her and be her mom...he had no say in that, she already calls me momny...Brand please..."
Krissy froended, she hadn't expected that part. Guess there was a downfall to owning your own house... The bills. "Alright." She agreed, not about to let that get her down. "I'll make sure to keep it clean and have everything in." She promised. She walked over and hugged him. "Thank you, Chris."Brandon sighed, raking a hand through his hair. He knew what this would mean, and he wasn't sure how this would work out. "Um...." But she looked so smitten with that small girl..... "Alright." He sighed, smiling. "It's fine with me."
Chris smiled "you dont have to pay for anything, just have to make sure I see them before they turn off your power or gas..." He handed her a credit card "you can use this for groceries and anything else you may need alright? No binge shopping I'll give you a certain amount every month."Delaney smiled and held her close loving the feeling of her little arms wrapped around her neck "I'm going to be your new mommy...ok? What's your name do you remember?" She asked in Thai getting her dressed in a nightgown as they flew back home.
Krissys eyes widened and she grinned. "Thank you!" She exclaimed. "I'll definitely take care of it, and everything will stay in perfect condition and I'll pick healthy food and thank you!" She danced around the kitchen. The little girl looked up at her and beamed the biggest smile you ever saw. "Mummy." She said, wrapping her arms around her arm, holding onto her. "Lilly loves Mummy." She whispered, closing her eyes.
Chris chuckled and nodded letting her be alone in her new place to move in, he went back to the main house and say by Laila "that girl is the happiest I've ever seen her..." He said honestly and leaned his forehead against hers "is my wifey happy?"Delaney was so welled up with joy she started to cry she smiled at Brandon thanking him with her entire soul as she got her tucked into the small cot watching over her "mummy loves Lilly..."
Laila looked up from where she was looking through old pictures and she smiled softly as he joined her. "I'm glad she's happy with the place. That girl deserves something nice of her own." She said seriously, putting down the pictures as she kissed him. "Your wifey is thrilled."Brandon watched her interact with her new baby and he smiled, happy that she was happy. He couldn't speak Thai, so he was a little lost. "What's her name?" He asked. "Do you like her?"
Chris pecked her nose and then lips and then her belly "good...hey look at those great pictures of you and Mali...you look even more dilute when you were kids...why are you both covered in mud?" He loved looking at old pictures with her, made him excited to create some new ones.Delaney Maddie sure Lilly was asleep before pulling off the ear piece and neck piece hugging hin tightly "her name is Lilly and I love her so much...I've never felt such love for anyone...she's so perfect and sweet...did you see that smile when I told her I was going to be her new mummy? Heart breaking! Oh Brandon I've never felt so much purpose in my life..."
Laila laughed softly and looked at the picture he was pointing to. "Well... We were little trouble makers back then, you know. I think I threw mud at Mali. And he responded by burying me in it. Mum wasn't happy about bathing us that night." She said, shaking her head, a small smile on her lips. Those were good memories. Life was good. Brandon hugged her against him, running his hand through her hair. "Lilly is a cute name." He said honestly, "and she does look like a sweet little thing. I'm glad you're happy. I love you, and that's all I want for you." He said seriously. "And... I beleive you promised me something tonight." He said, winking.
Chris chuckled at the story and smiled pecking her cheek "I like that you have so many memories and pictures I don't have any except when I took Krissy in...all of her first days at school and just stuff she's want to remember...still amazes me you two met on a bus."Delaney looked at him shocked "not in front of the kids...yes they are asleep but what if they wake up? I promise even being a mom we'll have a relationship but only with locked doors and baby monitors..."
Laila nodding, remembering Krissys first day of school, how nervous she was. That little girl was so cute. And now she was all grown up! Then she laughed. "Yes.. And she gave me quite the mouthful for leaving you." She reminded, shaking her head. "That was right after I punched you I beleive." She said, chuckling. It had been a while. And so many memories! She started collecting up the pictures again.Brandon pouted, clasping his hands together. "I've been waiting all day! And you looked so sexy with the sandman I could hardly keep away. Please! Don't do this to me..." He pleaded, sticking out his bottom lip. "The kids are too young to understand, and we can go in another room, or just be quiet..."
Chris smiled and held her close pressing his face in her hair "I wouldn't have gotten you if it weren't for her...and I totally deserved that punch by the way." He chuckled and glanced at their first dates selfies "we were dorks!"Delaney smiled not being able to avoid temptation this time...ok we go to the bathroom then, it's the only room that locks...and you looked so sexy after shooting him..."
Laila nodded, thankful to Krissy for that. She felt so blessed to have them both, and soon a family. She leaned on his shoulder liking at the pictures with him, and laughed. "We still are..." She said, kissing his cheek. I think we made an awkwardly cute couple." She said, smiling.Brandon chuckled, already pushing her into the bathroom and closing the door. "Sexy that I shot someone?" He asked, pulling his jacket off her shoulders, "or sexy that I was mad at him?" He kissed her neck then, nipping gently at her collar bone.
Chris nodded smiling at their cute pictures of them graduating college "it's Kenna's and Luke's wedding tomorrow, what are we getting them?" He asked laying back on the bed "besides Kenna's shrill squeals about us being engaged and having a baby."Delaney smiled and nodded kissing him deeply and wrapping her legs around his torso "I'm thinking both...and that you are letting me keep Lillt."
Laila laughed softly, climbing onto the bed beside him where she lay her head on his stomach. "I think that's gift enough. But if we want something more… then we could get something for the house. Like a blender, or a toaster. Or you could give them a cool gadget thing, like a pen that's actually a camera or something." she suggested. Brandon held her up against him, his mouth working along her neck. He loved that she thought him sexy. "Well… you looked so happy." he said seriously. "I couldn't keep that from you." He whispered, moving back up to kiss her lips. "But what will you tell your dad?"
Chris chuckled and nudged her lovingly "Kenna's rich, they have everything already...what if we did something they can't buy? I mean like we could write a song for them? Or put together a photo college?"Delaney smiled "tell him I quit the agency becoming a school teacher like I've always wanted and being Lilly's mom. And he'll get to meet his grand baby."
Laila nodded then, sighing. "Hadn't thought of that." She agreed, wondering what they could give them. But Chris's suggestion immediately made her smile and she nodded. "Yes. Let's do that. I think they'd love something like that." She agreed. "We could embarrass them with kid photos." She chuckled. "Like Kenna in the bathtub as a three year old." she giggled. "That's a cute picture."Brandon laughed softly then. "He'll have a cow." He joked, shaking his head. "But I'm sure he'll learn to accept it eventually. You know I'll miss having you at the agency though, Dels." He said softly. "It won't be the same without you."
Chris chuckled "I bet we can find pleanty of them together as kids, that would be fun! And yet slightly horrific which so works with who we are!" He tickled her side "they won't invite is to anything again after this you know."Delaney smiled and kissed him deeply "you'll see me at home...right? It's better for me, I don't want to be the glue of HQ anymore...it bores me and I nearly was killed...I want to teach kids and be a mom."
Laila laughed, giggling as he tickled her. "Yes. It's perfect." she agreed, starting to collect some of the pictures she owned of them as kids. Then she grinned evilly. "Perfect." She said, shaking her head. She had a nice little pile of photos before long, and started sifting through them. "Find any good ones? Most of these we can use…"Brandon nodded, but inside he was sad. He was sad she was leaving. "I wish you all the best with your new job." he said seriously, kissing her jaw. "And I'll miss going on missions with you. We had some good times."
Chris grinned looking at the sweet pictures of them as kids "you've known them a long time huh?" He looked at the embarrasing photos and laughed happily "oh these are bad! Look at Luke's little wiener...he already hates me right? Should we put a leaf over it?"Delaney smiled and hugged him close "I love you, we'll still be with each other all the time and go around the world exploring and meeting amazing people."
Ashley smiled, thinking again and again that he was just so sweet, and they were so perfect together. "I love you Mali. I really do. Now let's go home and get our little sleepy fluff ball of a son into his cage and make sure everything is set up just right for him.
Brandon relaxed and nodded. "better." He agreed. Then he smiled. "Well now I'm not going to be able to wait that long love!" he complained, shaking his head. "But I will. For you."
