Chris wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled lovingly "you know that's my favorite! I came home at the perfect time, I'm sorry I was so late...I actually got a call about an engineer job, it's pretty big I'm excited get to be a nerd in my own domain." He said kissing her cheek "you are glowing!"

Laila nodded, feeling the sparks at even the smallest touch, because she was so in love with him at this moment. "That's aright. I was just worried. Please don't be late like that again! I was about to go look for you myself!" She said seriously, walking inside with him. She put two pancakes and a pile of bacon on a plate and set it in front of him. "That job sounds lovely Chris, I'm really happy for you." She said honestly, kissing his cheek as she passed. Then she blushed softly. "It's called being in love."
Chris smiled "you sure? Your just really glowing! Like a goddess...am I glowing?" He asked wondering what he looked like as he got his food, he blinked at the size of her plate "I thought you didn't like bacon..." He munched on his bacon scratching Munchkin's back "where's Kristne? Is she with friends or something?"
Laila wasn't sure. She had a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, but she didn't want to ruin their joy just yet, by bringing up a fear. "More like shining," She commented, smiling. "But handsome none the less." She promised, grabbing forks for both of them as she sat down to eat. She smiled sheepishly. "I didn't like it before, but I'm hungry!" She protested, starting to eat the food. Then she sobered. "Krissy has the 24hr flu. She's been in bed." She said honestly.
Chris frowned and slowly got up "I just need to go see her...she'll want to know about our engagement." He whispeted and went into her room with some noodle soup and smiled "hey Squishy...I heard you weren't feeling well...I might have news that'll help though." He offered pushing her hair back "burning up..."
Krissy looked up as he came in, and she smiled weakly. "Being sick sucks." She mumbled. She did actually have the flu, but it had been triggered by the shock of Chris's teleporting. Of course, she didn't know this. "News?" She asked, eager to hear anything interesting to help get over this crazy boredom. It was awful being sick. She felt just rotten.
Chris smiled and fed her some soup, "well you have a new sister, I proposed to Laila a few minutes ago...she said yes...we aren't getting married yet but, I wanted that connection im going to be gone on business trips sometimes...I got a new job it pays well we are going to buy a house...with floors seperate so you can still live with us."
Krissy immediately beamed, a smile splitting her features. "Finally!" she squeaked, swallowing the soup. "The job part is cool too. Not that I like you being away. But I like that you're engaged!" She giggled. "We can get a big fancy house to live with munchkin in!" She beamed, thrilled. "I'll pain my walls purple… and Munchkin can have his own bed…"((is Laila pregnant? or just in love?))
((You choose!))Chris chuckled loving her plans and fed her some more soup "you can have all of that...and you can have your own basement to do whatever you want in...so you don't feel awkward with us being newlyweds." He said flicking her nose "you gotta get feeling better, I heard about a boy at the house...want to spill or should I just do some investigating?"
Krissy smiled as she ate some more of the soup. "Awesome!" She agreed, happy to have her own space in the new house. Then she crinkled up her nose. "Yeah, that might be good. Not too much kissing ok? Not when I'm around." She insisted. Then she blushed, her eyes widening. "Who told you that!?" She asked, wondering who she should rat out for tattling. Who would have told him about her and Daniel? Did he find out somehow when he was shopping? Did Daniel tell him!?
Chris blinked just giving his sister a hard time but there was a boy?! "You did...your sleeping in a sweatshirt that isn't mine and I bet not Andrew's either...it smells like teenage boy cologne and...there were new blank CDs near the stereo that were not mine...so spill, unless you want me to go hunt him out myself?" Dang the new agent knowledge and reflexes worked for everythibg!
Krissy's smile slowly disappeared as he talked and she sighed. "No, don't go hunt him down. What are you, an assassin?" She shook her head, not sure why her brother was suddenly so uptight about this. And since when was he so perceptive? "He's nice, ok? He's from school and he's probably never done anything wrong in his life." She huffed out. "Can't I have a boyfriend? I'm in high school. Everyone had boyfriends!" She complained, doing her little Krissy pout. She didn't point out that she was only a freshman.
Chris sighed and ran his hand down his face "obviously I can't stop you from having a boyfriend...but I want you to be careful, I don't want this kid to break your heart...I just wish you would be open with me, introduce him to me instead of sneaking around...ok? Can I ask that much from my baby sister?"
Krissy nodded then, her smile hesitant as she relaxed. "Yeah. I'm sorry. You've been gone the past few days and I guess I got used to not talking to you about everything." She admitted. "I'm sorry. I'll bring him home some day, ok?" She pulled him over beside her and hugged him quickly, just lying beside her brother. Then she perked up again. "So. Did you and Laila have fun at the cottage?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
Chris poked at her and chuckled "none of your business missy! And you better not be having any of that fun with your guy...or I will search on Amazin and find a chastity belt and throw the key into the lake." He said seriously kissing her hair "why do you have to keep growing up Squish?...I remember when you came home from the hospital...I vowed I'd protect you forever..." He sighed "but now I cant..."
Krissy grinned, her suspicions confirmed. Then she raised her hands in surrender. "Please! No! Mercy!" She cried. "I promise I'll wait." She said quickly. Then she smiled softly, wrapping her arm around him. "You've done a great job Chris." She said seriously. "I am no longer in the slums thanks to you." She kissed his cheek.
Chris ruffled her hair and smiled down at her, this was his baby sister so scared and shy before developing into a gorgeous young woman. Of course she had a boyfriend she was perfect and he was glad to see someone else agrees "so tell me about this boyfriend of yours...his name, where you met...any dates? We have a lot of catching up to do apparently." He knew Laila wanted time with him after the proposal but she would understand that he needed to be with his sistef right now.
Krissy smiled brightly, glad he was interested in her boy, because she was convinced she loved him, and she wanted her brother to like him as well. "Well. His name is Daniel, and he's in my calculus class. He likes math like me." She smiled softly. "He's on the rugby team, and has this strange fascination with peanut butter. His brother is allergic, so he eats it by the ton whenever he comes over." She laughed. She enjoyed talking about him. "And he loves dogs. Munchkin and him are best friends already." She shook her head. "He took me to the movies once. And to the diner down the street." She blushed then, thinking about their kiss.
((Are you going to reply to the other one?))Chris smiled loving to see that happy glow in her face as she talked about the guy she cared for. He chuckled thinking about the strange quirks his sister obviously loves about this boy "I'll get an extra jar of peanut butter just for him then..." He raised a brow at her blush and smiled knowingly "so is he a good kisser?" He asked with a chuckle knowing that was going to embarrass his sister.
((I'm on my phone currently, with choppy Internet, so I can't reply to that yet without butchering it because it's longer. But I'll try my best if u want a reply :) I might disappear soon when I lose wifi as I'm on the road.))
Krissy grinned, glad he was warming up to the idea. "Thanks. He'll love that." She said honestly. Then she blushed deep Crimson and shifted. "Yes... I mean no! I mean... Yeah he is..." She fidgeted, smiling sheepishly. "He kissed me after our last date." She admitted. "It was really sweet." She promised, so he wouldn't worry. "And then he walked me home. I think I'm in love." She smiled over at him, all doey eyed. She looked like a love sick puppy.
((Lol ok. Sounds good. I'm on it. I am going to disappear for three hours here soon tho. Sorry. Driving back home in a minute, then I'll reply again))
Chris smiled and sat up to feed her some more soup "I think you have what's called puppy love, he's your first...we all had them. When you get older you'll slowly start to figure out real love...I'm still trying to figure it out, just have fun being a kid and make sure he treats yoh right...because I will harm him if he breaks your heart." He warned and smiled "but it's nice to see you so happy...will he be at the volleyball tournament?"
Krissy thought about that for a moment. Puppy love? Was that what this was? Was it not real love? It felt like real love… but she knew she wouldn't know, because she had no experience with any sort of love. "Oh." She said simply. "Well… I'm glad you've started to find real love." She said honestly. "And thank you, for protecting me. But I really don't think Daniel would ever hurt me." She said, smiling softly. "And thank you. It's nice to be happy. He will be at my tournament, but I don't know if that is a good or bad thing."
Chris caressed her cheek and sat up quickly "then I'll meet him at the game, why I'm cheering on my spiking little sister!" He said pretending to play volleyball. "I'm proud of you Squush, but now it's time for you to sleep got it?" He shook his head kissing her cheek "love you..."
Krissy smiled, nodding then. "Alright. That sounds good." She agreed, turning onto her side. "Thanks, big man. That means a lot." she yawned and curled the blanket up around her, letting her eyes drift shut. "Go see your fiancé." She whispered, smiling softly. "Love you too." Her breathing deepened, and she fell asleep.
Chris went to check on Laila he smiled spinning her around into his arms, he kissed her hand with the ring "you just became 20% more attractive with that rock on her hand...I love it. Hey you ok? You've been a little off since I told you that you were glowing...what's going on?"
Laila squeaked in surprise and then giggled when Chris spun her around. She blushed at his comment and smiled, looking down at the ring. "You think so? I love it too. It's perfect, Chris, really." Then she sobered a little, clasping her hands together as all the fears came back again. She had to be honest, she had to be honest and straightforward with him. As a reflex, her hands moved to her stomach and pressed against it. "Well… glowing is a sign of… of… I'm worried that…" She swallowed.
Chris blinked not understanding and then his eyes went wide "oh...oh! Oh my gosh...well do you want to go to the ER and find out? I mean I need a couple of stitches and we could kill two birds with one rock right?" He sighed squeezing her hands "it's ok, probably nothing...I mean it was like a honeymoon last week...but I did wear condoms..."
Laila looked down when he figured it out, and then she swallowed, nodding. He needed stitches? How bad had that attack been? "Are you hurt badly?" She asked, looking up at him then. She was very nervous, more nervous than she had been since the Kenna incident. "Yeah… probably nothing." she agreed. "Lets go check just in case." She suggested softly.
Chris showed her the gash on his calf and shrugged "four stitches top ok? And then we'll get you an exam and going to get tons of icecream to compensate the embarrassment ok? But honestly I think you look really sexy in a hospital gown..." He kissed her cheek taking her to Andrew's car "this is such a little car...I feel kind of wimpy."
Laila gasped when she saw the gash. He had that on his leg, and he hadn't even shown any signs of pain! Was he that used to these situations from his past life? It was really surprising. But his calm helped her not freak out, and she nodded. "Alright. Sounds good. But I really am counting on that ice-cream." She said seriously. Then she giggled, blushing. "Chris! Don't tell me you've been staring at me whenever I've been at the hospital!" She said, acting mortified, but she really didn't mind at all. She opened up the passenger door and slid in, smiling softly. "Don't worry. We'll get your truck back. And no knocking my brother's car!"
Chris arrived at the ER he helped her out of the car and smiled getting her into a room with the nurse. He made the Popsicle sticks have faces and did a puppet show for her to ease her fears as they waited for the doctor. He picked up the speculum and made it quack for her trying to get her to smile. "This isn't going to be the end of the world...you look like your on death row."
Laila was trying to not think about this whole thing as they headed to the hospital. But, when they entered, and she changed into a hospital gown and sat waiting in the room for the doctor, her hands grew clammy with fear. She stared at the hospital posters, and would have grown panicky, if it had not been for Chris. He managed to get a soft laugh out of her with his antics, which was a lot more than anyone else would have been able to accomplish and they tried. At his comment, she shot him a look. "Says the man who isn't about to get cold metal put in them for the sole purpose of being looked at by a complete stranger." She complained. "Just to try and find out if they're going to swell up and have to come back here in nine months!"
Chris put down the tool and hugged her closely kissing her head "hey...it's going to be ok, if we have a kid I'll seriously make sure everything is perfect and we'll be the coolest parents ever!" He saw the doctor come in and he glanced at her "can you warm up the tool for her...she doesn't like these exams in fact hates them..." He squeezed her hand gently "I want her comfortable."
Laila nodded slowly, glad at least of that. She wasn't going to be alone for her next pregnancy, whenever it was. Now she had someone to help her through it, and for that, she was utterly grateful. When the doctor walked in, she felt some relief that it was a girl, and a nice looking one. Well that at least was good. The doctor smiled, finding it cute that he had come with Laila, and was trying to make this better for her. She nodded. "Of course. I don't want this to be uncomfortable in any way." She promised, putting the speculum in warm water to help heat it up while she asked Laila some basic questions about sleep and diet, and why she thought she might be pregnant. Laila blushed every now and again, and she kept a tight hold on Chris's hand through all of it, but she slowly relaxed as time went on. Then the doctor stood and asked her to slide to the edge of the bed and put her feet in the stirrups, and Laila tensed, but obeyed, closing her eyes and turning her face towards Chris so she didn't have to watch as the doctor explained what she was doing and took the speculum out of the water.
Chris took her hand and kissed it smiling as he continued the puppet show trying to distract her . He was grateful men never had an exam like this it was vulnerable and embarrassing. He nuzzled her "hey it'll be over soon..." He promised and sighed looking at the doctor "is she ok?...I mean...is she pregnant? I wore condoms except for one night..."
Laila was trying her best just to keep her attention on him as the doctor completed the exam. She immediately sat up again when the doctor said she could, and she sat as close as possible to Chris as she could without making it look too weird. The doctor smiled gently. "One night can do the trick I'm afraid." She said looking over at Laila. "It still is very early dear, but all the signs say that you're pregnant."
Laila didn't react. She just stared at the nurse in a look of blank emotion. She was half in shock just at the news, and wasn't quite sure whether she should be elated, or terrified. So she just sat there in shock.
Chris nodded his thanks wanting them to just be alone, he picked her up and placed her on his lap holding her close "I've got you...hey this is good news baby! We are going to be parents...we are going to buy a nice house and you can paint the nursery...my new job will pay well...and we can get married...yeah? This is what we wanted...it's just sooner which is wonderful!"
The doctor smiled softly, knowing she was not needed anymore, and left. Laila immediately slacked into Chris's arms when he put her on his lap and she kept her face tucked against him, as listening to him talk helped calm her. This was good news. She had to remind herself of that. She was starting a family. She wasn't carrying a stranger's baby. This was Chris's child in her, and that was exactly what she had wanted. Just… not so soon. But Chris had the right idea, making the best of it, and she knew that. So she smiled meekly and nodded. "Of course. I'm sorry." She said, squeezing his hand. "I'm thrilled that it's a little you I'm carrying this time." she said seriously, leaning her head back against him. Her hand moved to her stomach, and she bit her lip.
Chris placed his hand over hers and squeezed it lovingly "I've got you...I'm going to take care of you, your not alone anymore you'll never be alone..." He assured and kissed her smiling "I hope it's a little you...gorgeous eyes and smile...sweet disposition loves life and nature..." He praised and smiled "maybe a part of my sense of humor just to show some DNA traits from me..." He kissed her lovingly "I couldn't be happier..."
Laila closed her eyes, letting herself soak in his words. Tears of happiness escaped the corners of her lids and she smiled weakly, looking up at him finally. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" She asked, not expecting an answer. She had a man who loved her and would care for her, and she was carrying his child. Life couldn't be better. "I suppose next comes the 'I won't ever lie to you and I won't ever break your heart' part of that speech." She teased, finally feeling good enough to joke around with him again. She kissed his cheek and got up, changing back into her clothes. "Come on, sunshine and rainbows. Let's go get your leg stitched up."
Chris smirked and kissed her cheek "I've already given you that speech baby...and we can just got home, you know I'm not a fan of needles..." He helped her get dressed again and smiled "Kenna's and Luke's wedding is next week...let's home your bridesmaid gown fits or we'll have to tell everyone...I think Malibu is back from the Savannah." He mentioned off hand knowing that they all came back when he did.
Laila raised an eyebrow. "Just go home? When you have a gash in your leg? I'll agree to that if you let me stitch it up for you. I'm not just leaving it there to get infected." she said seriously. Then she nodded. The wedding. Right. She shouldn't get too blown up before then, right? It was just one week… "Yeah. Hopefully it fits." She agreed. "Or else Kenna is going to pester me for every little detail. Then her eyes widened a little. "He is? And he told you, but I haven't heard from him yet?" She asked, confused. Was her brother ignoring her? How did Chris know before her? How did Chris know at all?
Chris groaned and closed his eyes "darling I remember you trying to patch that plaid shirt of mine...it didn't go so well if you recall." He blew through his lips "five fine...let's go." He helped her down and walked her out of the room "hasn't Kenna already pestered you for every detail of the trip? I heard you talking..." He picked up her phone showing her the new text "he contacted me the exact same time he contacted you." Thank you HQ...
Laila giggled softly, having known that her offer of stitching it up would make him stay and get it done. She didn't think she could actually do the job, had he agreed to it. "Thank you baby." She said, leading him back to the emergency care where they got him into a room. Then she blushed, shaking her head. "I didn't think you were listening to that conversation." She admitted. "But she'll probably want to know about how we found out, and the doctors appointment, and what sort of things I'm eating, and whether or not I'm feeling alright…" she shook her head. "Basically everything." Laila looked down at her phone and relaxed then, smiling. "Oh." She said, "I must not have seen that." She said, texting Mali back that she was glad he was home and safe again.
Chris lay on the table on his side smiling as she talked "you girks like to talk.,.a conversation of men would be 'she's preggo' 'cool. You scared?' 'Hell yeah'" he said the conversation with two different goofus guy voices and smirked "nothing is private with girls...you talk very openly about all your bodily functions." He teased kissing her cheek softly.Malibu texted her back "how's everything with you? I've got done things I brought back for you. When can we have dinner again?" He saw one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen step out of the jet...she was the only female agent on the team and he was too chicken to introduce himself.
Laila laughed easily when he re-enacted a male conversation. "You guys tell each other nothing!" she said, as the doctor walked in and looked at Chris's leg. Laila knew he didn't like needles, so she did what he had done for her, and kept talking to try and distract him. She gave him a pointed look. "And you would only know what we talked about if you were eavesdropping on me and Kenna, you sneaky little man." She said, bopping his nose. "That is seriously embarrassing if you listened to the whole thing." She admitted, remembering what sort of things she and Kenna had discussed. She texted Malibu back quickly, with 'Well. I've got some big news for you, so I'd love to get together again. This Wednesday work?'The agent, Ashley, holstered her gun again, and spotting Malibu, walked over. She smiled, leaning against one of the pillars in HQ. "Malibu, right?" She asked, surveying him. She had heard a lot about this agent, and he seemed to live up to the expectations. "I've heard a lot about you. My name is Ashley. Ashley Water."
Chris groaned as they numbed him and groaned "let's just say there was a reason we had sex right after the phone call...." He smiled at her flush and touched her stomach "you feeling anything? Anyrhing?" He asked hopefully and geoaned "numbing does not help at all Laila you may see some manly guy tears."Malibu blinked and nodded "nice to meet you, it's just Mali please, my parents named me after the place they had me...I hate it, but anyways good job out there. Can I call you Ash?"
