Laila gasped indignantly and grabbed a napkin to wipe the smear of her face. "Oh! What a perfectly good waste of sugar." She said, shaking her head as she tried to clean it all off her face. When she was certain that there were no more traces of it, and her heart had finally slowed to an acceptable tempo, she let herself smile. His spring break sounded thrilling, and surprisingly, it sounded a lot like the plans she already had made with Luke and Kenna. "That sounds like a lot of fun." she admitted, swallowing down the last bit of her brownie before sitting back comfortably in her chair, wine glass in hand. "Thanks for the offer, but I've already got plans to go on a road tip with Kenna and Luke." She said honestly, sighing. "Little less high action, but it should still be fun. They are my best friends after all." She shrugged. Luke squeezed her hand back as he checked her in. He could practically feel how nervous she was through how much she trembled. "You'll be fine." He bent down and whispered gently into her ear. He knew doctor visits were not the most fun things on the world, but he promised himself he would stay here with her as long as she needed.
It didn't take long for a nurse to escort them into a waiting room. She promptly started with taking Kenna's weight, height, and temperature.
Razor laughed lightly and nodded "I wish I had good friends like that, it sounds like it will be really great. Do you ever think that Luke and Kenna will get together? I mean the guy is a drooling puppy dog around her..." He shit put the images of her in his bed, he had turned into the same dog...Kenna sighed leaning into Luke's shoulder and let the nurse take her vitals, she felt like she was running a fever but the temp was normal. She shook her head at the nurse handing her a hospital gown "no..."
Laila's smile was knowing. "Yeah. I know. If only Kenna could see that." She tipped her glass back and downed the final drops, feeling very content. She was happy and full and enjoying the evening. "I think part of it is that she is naive when it comes to guys, and she knows it. So she tries to keep to herself. But she's stubborn too. If she'd let him, Luke would love her to pieces. Poor boy. He hasn't loved anyone else since elementary school." she smiled wistfully. "Guess that's why I need to be friends with them. Urge em both in the right direction. They're cool people though." She smiled. Luke let her lean on him as the nurse worked. His hand never left hers and he helped her whenever he could. When the nurse came over and held out a hospital gown, and Kenna shook her head, Luke smiled gently at her. "She's just trying to help, peanut. You want to get better don't you?" he squeezed her hand. "Go on and get changed, I won't look, I promise." He winked at her.
Razor smirked and nodded "all you need is a nerf bow and arrow and you could pass off as Cupid." He teased and stole a piece of her brownie "darling you have finished your wine, do you need me to take you home? I don't want you to be...compromised in anyway."Kenna whimpered and sighed nodding as she took the gown and went behind the screen and changed. She came back and sat on the table grabbing into Luke's hand tightly she was nearly in tears she was so scared.
Laila laughed her agreement, and slapped his hand away playful. "Just ask, pretty boy, don't steal." She teased, cutting off one more bite before she pushed the remainder of the brownie towards him. She contemplated his offer quietly as she slowly swallowed her bite of brownie. Then she smiled, "I'm not drunk yet, just a little fuzzy. One drink wont do me in. It's not like I haven't had any before." she chuckled, "But thanks. It means a lot that you offered." She smiled, raising an eyebrow. "But its still early, and we've got time. Want a catch a movie and then call it a night?" she offered, her way of saying she was cool with spending some more time with him before the date was over. She didn't mind his company at all anymore. Luke chewed his lip when he saw her come out in a hospital gown. Seeing her like that made him worry as well. But he didn't show it, for he saw how she was paler, and nearly in tears. He squeezed her hand with his when she grabbed it, and gently kissed her forehead.
The nurse came in again then and smiled. "Do you want me to send him out for this part?" she asked, slipping on gloves. "I have a haunch about something and I want to check quickly. I don't want you uncomfortable or anything by him being here." she said gently.
Razor smiled and nodded "we could go see a movie, I really don't like theaters...do you want to go to a drive thru? I think they are a lot cheaper and the popcorn isn't as disturbingly fattening as in theaters. I think there's some chick flicks or something, you can choose." He paid the check and put down a decent tip Kenna shook her head "no...I want him to stay..." She mumbled and held onto his hand tighter tears seeping through "I'm scared..." She whispered to Luke biting her lip and burying her face in his chest as she heard the nurse get set up.
Laila smiled, standing up from her chair and putting the napkin down. "Drive thru sounds lovely. I love being outside." She smiled, waiting for him to pay before she walked out with him, and into the starry night. "I doubt I'd choose a chickflick though." She winked at him. "Sappy movies have their place, but I'm not feeling it tonight." Without thinking much of it, she slipped her hand into his as they walked, never ceasing to smile. "I guess we can see what is playing."Luke nodded slowly, wrapping his free hand around her. He tucked his face into her hair so he wouldn't have to watch either. His hand rubbed gently over her arm, trying to sooth her. "It wont take long I'm sure." he whispered, trying to make her feel better about it.
The nurse nodded, smiling. "All done. Darling, you aren't sick at all." She said gently. "You're just in your first trimester."
Razor was a little surprised by the hand, he gave a smile and walked to his car he opened the door for her and drove to the drive-thru he saw the movie names and smirked "do you want to see the avengers?"Kenna felt like her life just ended, she shook her head and covered her face "no...no it was just a one night stand...please this isn't hsppening..." She pleaded and started to sob shaking her head "it's not true...it's just the flu..."
Laila looked up at the movie names and show times and she grinned, shrugging easily. "Avengers sounds just great to me." She agreed, flashing a smile at him. "Perfect mixture of action and humor." she winked. His truck was surprisingly nice and she found herself marvelling at it. "Nice truck." She commented, running her hand over the windowsill. It must have cost him a small fortune. Luke frowned in confusion at first, and then his face paled. Pregnant He realized. She's pregnant... He wasn't sure what part about that hurt him so badly. Maybe it was because he had been faithful all these years, even when she had not loved him. And here she had thrown away her virginity and now her first child. He felt as if he would throw up. "I need to run to the..." he mumbled as he got up. He never finished his sentence in the dash to the washroom.
Razor chuckled and nodded "yeah it's my baby...want to go lie on the truck bed? I have some blankets and pillows." He laughed at her look "not for what your thinking, I go camping a lot member? Sometimes I just sleep on the truck bed and watch the stars...lot more comfortable then my piece of crap apartment." Kenna sat up and shook her head sobbing, she lost her best friend she felt like a slut and it was Razor's bsby...what else could go wrong? She looked at the nurse "I don't want it...but I don't believe in abortion..." She whispered and ran a hand through her hair.
Laila had shot him an indignant look at first, which then dissolved into a smile at his explanation. "Sure, that sounds great. We should go star watching together some time." She said, using the tire as a stepping stool as she swung her leg over the side and into the truck bed. Then she lay out the blankets and pillows in a neat arrangement before lying back to watch the previews. "So I take it you don't like your apartment?" She whispered, so as not to disturb the other movie watchers. The nurse nodded sympathetically. "Well... The baby is little more than a single cell right now. Its less messy to do an abortion before the baby is formed...." She tried to convince her. "But if you really are against it, there's always adoption. Many loving families who can't have kids would be eager to adopt." She assured.
In the bathroom, Luke just stared at himself in the mirror. He was panting, angry, and sad. He wasn't sure if he should bang his head against a wall or start sobbing. He immediately wanted to go out there and demand to know who the father was ((side note, I don't remember if she ever told Luke or not... lol)). But he knew that his job as a friend was to be there for her. So with a great amount of self control, he forced himself to shove his own feelings away and go to rejoin her. He swallowed. "I'm sorry Kenna, for running." he whispered. "The news was just a bit of a shock..."
Razor lay by her and chuckled at her indignant look "I can read you like a book sometimes...there's a place by the cliffs that you can see the milky way almost every night...I used to think God was a messy eater when I was a kid...and asked my parents why there weren't cookie crumbs along with it." He watched the previews and shrugged "it's just...it's a prison, I don't like being alone with my own thoughts..."Kenna swallowed and leaned against him crying "I just want...I need you right now, I'm scared...and I know this is my own fault...but I really don't need q lecture, I need my best friend..." She whispered and kissed his jaw "I always thought my first time would be with you..."
Laila laughed softly, shaking her head. "I'm not that easy to read, am I?" She shifted a little to get comfortable on the blankets and pillows before she settled down beside him and let her eyes focus on the movie as he talked. She found herself giggling and shaking her head. "God's a messy eater." She repeated. "That is so cute." She thought to herself how he must have been adorable as a child. Then he spoke about his apartment and she frowned a little... Why was he alone? Didn't he usually.... "But don't you usually have girls with you?" Laila realized after the words escaped from her mouth that they were a little harsh and she winced, immediately wishing she could take them back. "I'm sorry... It's not my place...." She mumbled, feeling guilty.Luke nodded slowly at her apology, wrapping his arms gently around her. "I'm right here." He whispered, his one hand rubbed her back slowly to try and help calm we again. He knew this was probably more distressing for her than him, and he felt bad about reacting so poorly at first. "And I'm not going anywhere." He stiffened then, and his arms tightened around her a little, almost protectively. "Really?" He asked, nearly stunned into silence. He never thought she had thought of him that way. It was almost too good to be true. Luke tried to push away that pesky sliver of hope that started to rise in him.
Razor shook his head "no your spot on, maybe that's why I...am the way I am. I am a player, and I try to keep my nights full..." He mumbled mostly to himself and then gave an ironic chuckle "you should go into counseling...I've revealed more things to you than anyone I know...just easy to talk to I guess. He watched the opening scene and a smile slowly appeared "I always thought Loki looked like a reindeer..."Kenna swallowed and nodded "yeah...I do care and love you...I trust you more than anyone, even Laila I just thought...we'd end up together, it would have been far nicer..." She whispered and turned pecking his lips "I just never thought you'd see me as someone like that...and I guess I was scared of ruining what we have...that's more precious to me than physical attraction..."
Laila winced. So it was because of that. Because behind all this, he was afraid to be alone in the dark. So he used his good looks to get him company. Laila soghed softly. "I'm sorry that you feel you need to get company that way." She said honestly. Subconsciously, she found her hand reaching out to gently squeeze his. She sure as heck wasn't going to offer to be his company later tonight, but she wished there were some other way to help him. His comment broke her out of her thoughts and she laughed. "A reindeer!? Well then, that is the most kickbutt gorgeous reindeer I have seen in a long time." She laughed.Luke's heart was pounding as she rambled on, explaining herself, but all he had heard was her first sentence, and then his world had exploded. She loved him. His mouth curved as a thousand different emotions flooded through him all at once. All he could manage to do was to cup her face in his hands gently and bend down to kiss her passionately. He had dreamed of this moment many times, and now it was here. Kenna loved him, and he finally got to kiss her.
Razor felt the small reassuring squeeze in his hand and felt slightly better, but he really had no excuse for the way he was. He was practically toxic, girl's should just stay away if they want anything stable. He chuckled and shook his head "I just think you go for the bad guys..." He nudged her playfully with his shoulder and kept watching "least you don't go for a wimp like captain Anerica..."Kenna was shocked when he came in for the kiss, but she didn't pull away this was her Skywalker, her best friend...it was time that she gave this a chance. She kissed him back slowly and laced her fingers in his hair before pulling away "you sure about this? About us?...I'm having a baby..."
Laila laughed softly and nodded, not denying that. "Is that such a bad thing?" She asked, her smile teasing. "I tend to attract danger to myself." She winked at him. "Besides, were's the fun in a good boy?" She pulled the blanket up higher around her, as the temperature had dropped as the night wore on, but she didn't let him know that. She was having too much fun to complain about anything currently. "The villains tend to be so much more cunning. And they have amazing sense of humor." Luke thought he was drowning in a blissful dream. He only opened his eyes and took a breath when she pulled away again, and he found himself staring down into those beautiful eyes he had grown to know so well. "I've never been more sure about anything in my life." He whispered, leaving a gentle kiss between her eyebrows. "I'll be here through everything, I promise. No matter what you choose to do with the child."
Razor noticed her pulling the blanket closer and pulled her towards his chest rubbing her arms to keep her warm "is that so? Well than I guess I'm a villain." He said simply and ran a lock of her hair through his fingers and watched the movie. He liked having her so close, both of them dressed just enjoying talking to each other.Kenna kissed him tenderly once more, tears streaming down her face "I don't know what to do...I can't raise a baby, I'm still a child..." She got dressed and pulled her hair up out of her face "What is Laila going to say?!"
Laila smiled, shifting a little to get comfortable against him. She didn't mind him pulling her closer for warmth. She wasn't the kind of girl to get awkward around guys, and frankly, she was cold. So she snuggled against him and let out a happy sigh. "A darn cute one too. You don't have any trouble getting girls." She pointed out, smiling lightly. "If everyone knew your background, you could woe every girl on campus." She teased. Luke hugged her gently, wrapping an arm around her small shoulders. She felt so afraid right now, he wished he could just take away all her worries and lock them in a box somewhere. "Laila won't say anything. She'll just shoot you, and cry over your dead body." He said, smiling a little. "As for raising a child. Who said you had to? Lots of people adopt, and lots of children go up for adoption. You have that choice. No one would judge you for it." He said gently, kissing her temple as they walked out. "But it's up to you."
Razor rolled his eyes and smirked looking down at her and tracing the hair off of her delicate features. She was so equisite, most girls tried to pull off the same look like they were clones or something. "Maybe I don't want anyone else to know my background...Id rather it not be spread around..."Kenna swallowed and sat in her yellow bug and stared out the window, it was late and yet sleeping was the last thing she wanted to do. "My kid will judge me...later in it's life it'll wonder what kind of cruel mother gives away their kid...and then they'll go on Oprah about it..."
Laila closed her eyes, giggling a little when his touch tickled her face, and then opened her eyes again to watch the movie as it transitioned into a fight scene. She let out a thoughtful sound, sort of a hum and a sigh together. "I won't tell anyone then, I promise." She made the motion of zipping her lips together and throwing away the key, her mouth curving into a smile. "But it would probably make you something of a bad boy hero. And everyone knows those are the most irresistible." She said, winking at him. It was true though. And it was true for her as well. Luke got in the driver's seat and drove them both back to her apartment, before hanging up the keys where they were and walking her back to her bed. "Not if you give them to a family that can offer them a better future than you can. I know it's hard, and yes, they probably will wonder if you didn't want them at all. But sometimes the best thing to do for someone is to let them go. Trust me, I know from experience." he wasn't trying to force her into everything, just to help her understand her options. He knew the best thing for the kid would be to give it its best possible chance at a good future.
Razor rolled his eyes "I think I'm alright with not being the bad boy hero, I don't like the attention which I know is weird since I like being with woman...I guess I feel better when people think I'm the bad guy, the heartbreaker or whatever you want to call me. Is that weird?" he asked watching her and propping himself up on his arm.Kenna sighed and nodded "I want to give this kid the best...maybe if I write a note they can read it and know how much I do love them...because if this was any other guy or time in my life Id love to have a baby...but not like this."
Laila shrugged. "No. It's not. It's what you're used to being." she tipped her head so she could look at him. "I get that." She though about her own life, and how she liked to be active and adventurous. Maybe because she wanted to come across as fearless. "This may be a shocker to you, but I'm not courageous all the time." She smiled weakly. "We all have a weak point, I suppose." She shrugged and looked back at the screen, trying to focus on the movie and not delve deeper into her own past. Luke smiled gently. "A note is a very good idea." he agreed, reaching over to squeeze her hand. He pulled the blanket up higher around her and tucked her in. "You have plenty of time to have more kids later, I promise." he kissed her forehead gently and stood. "I guess I should head back to my dorm now." he whispered, knowing he couldn't stay all night. They both needed to sleep.
Razor stroke her hip gently and shrugged "We all have our fears, courage isn't about not being afraid...it's about not letting the fear stop you." he said quietly and watched the movie feeling very...warm, it was a good feeling he didn't know how to describe it "My name's not really Razor by the way...it's Cristopher...but that's my dad's name so I changed it."Kenna shook her head grabbing onto his jacket "Stay?...I promise I don't snore, I just can't be alone right now..." she said softly her eyes pleading, she couldn't stand being alone they'd usually talk on the phone until she slept because it scared her that much. Now she had a singular cell baby with her, yet she felt even more alone then before.
Laila smiled a little. "Wow, that was deep." She said reverently. "But you're right. I just like to pretend that I don't have any I suppose." She sighed softly... because well. Having no fear was far from what she was. She had fear, and she had nightmares. But not many people knew that. And not even her friends knew why. But she had long since pushed those into the deepest parts of her mind where she could hide them away and continue being the brave spunky girl she had become. Then she smiled. "Christopher, huh?" She repeated, rolling the name on her tongue. "Chris isn't that bad of a name you know... but I'll call you Razor if you prefer it." She promised. Luke thought about it for a moment and then nodded, giving in. "Alright." He agreed. "I'll stay." He took off his jacket and shoes, lining them up neatly against the wall so as not to clutter her room, and then climbed onto the bed with her, laying on top of the blanket so he didn't make her feel awkward. He squeezed her hand gently and smiled. "Goodnight, peanut." He whispered.
Razor shook his head "You can call me Chris, but only you." he teased and inhaled her perfect scent hugging her close "I think we missed most of the movie, and I don't know about you but I really don't want to move from this position..." he mused and shifted so he could sit up but not disrupt her too much.Kenna moved the sheets and blankets so he was under them and then curled up in his arms and sighed happily "Goodnight Skkywalker...I love you..." she whispered before closing her eyes and falling into a deep well needed sleep.
Laila smiled, closing her eyes. "Ok. Chris it is then. And I'll call you Razor around everyone else so you don't have to ruin the reputation." She said, smiling a little wider without opening her eyes. After lying on such a nice pile of blankets and pillows for so long, she found herself feeling rather drowsy. The wine she had had earlier helped with that. "Hmmm." She responded softly, yawning a cat yawn before curling on her side. She would be content with just falling asleep right here...Luke blushed faintly when she suddenly curled against him, but he didn't mind having her in his arms in the slightest. So he shifted so he could hold her, and then tucked his chin over her head, sighing in contentment. "Love you too." He whispered, and let himself drift off shortly after her breathing slowed.
Razor smiled and tucked her in, he drove to the apartment and smiled nudging her "Hey pretty girl...you are home, I don't think you want to stay here all night..." he lifted her in his arms and helped her down.Kenna woke up the next morning and smiled nuzzling him "Mmm this is the way I like to wake up..." she kissed his chest and groaned "I need to...go..." she got up and vomitted in the bathroom wrapping up in the blanket.
Laila had fallen asleep and only blinking awake again to Razor's voice. She rubbed her eyes, yawning again. "Chris...?" She asked, rather sleepy still. When he lifted her and set her on her feet again, she finally was able to clear some of the blur from her eyes and realize where she was. "Oh... thanks for driving me back." She said, smiling. "And for the night, it really was wonderful." She said honestly, her cheeks slightly pink. Luke blinked drearily and then smiled. He pecked her hair, propping himself up on his elbow. "Morning." he whispered. Then he jerked upright, running after her to the washroom. He held her hair back, rubbing her back gently. "Oh man... that doesn't look fun." he whispered. "Anything I can get you?" He asked, flushing the toilet.
Razor smiled and kissed her softly "I better make sure you get in safe...your not quite all there love." he chuckled and helped her inside taking off her shoes and getting her tucked into the covers "I had a lovely night as well."Kenna brushed her teeth and shook her head "Nothing you can do...just the first part of this idiotic process, I swear this is torture made just for women...what did we ever do so wrong?"
Laila smiled the whole time, leaning on him for support, as she was exhausted, and living up to the 'not quite all there' statement. It was all she could do to pull herself into a curled ball on her bed, and let her eyes close again. "See you tomorrow in chem." She whispered, opening one eye. "And don't you dare skip again." her words dissolved into a yawn and she closed her eyes again, sighing softly as she drifted off to sleep. Luke nodded, scratching the back of his neck. He didn't know why she had to go through his. He certainly didn't think it was fair. She'd only just slept with someone once after all. But he decided to push that aside and make light of this all. "Because you are too perfectly awesome in every other way." He teased, kissing her cheek. "You had to have one flaw."
Razor kissed her softly and then headed out making she was safe and shutting the door. He headed back to his truck and found himself really smiling, he never smiled after a date mostly just went back to bed and let them leave on their oen. But this...this was special and he didn't know how to describe it.Kenna laughed and hugged him tight "come on we can't be late, and I want to know how Laila's mercy date went!" She threw him the shirt she stole and smiled "there now you've changed! You wear the same jeans anyways."
Laila woke up refreshed the next morning, and at first she frowned, confused. What had happened last night? How did she get here? Then it all came flooding back and she smiled, slipping out of bed. She didn't know how he had gotten her to like him so easily, but even the thought of Razor sent her heart beating a little faster. She shook her head, her smile still plastered on her face. "Time for chem." she said, hopping in the shower quickly before she changed and grabbed her laptop bag, heading towards the lecture building.Luke grinned. "Oh that's right... Well. At least we'll have something to tease her about so she doesn't kill us for chem yesterday." He shook his head. Then he laughed, catching the t-shirt and quickly slipping into it. "Oh, you noticed?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "I didn't think people did." he slipped on his jacket and headed for the door. "You ready?"
Razor chuckled and texted her the next morning "rise and shine beautiful. It's time for a dreary day of Chem." He got dressed smoothing back his unruly hair and searching for his backpack "where are you...hasnt been this long?!" He couldn't be late he made a commitment.Kenna pounced on him and gave a soft kiss "now I am...let's go handsome." She says laughing and grabbed her shoulder bag. She pushed him out the door "how's your sweet dog doing? Winston right? I miss that furry mutt!"
Laila got the text as she was walking into the building, and she grinned, shaking her head. "Slept in?" She texted back, "I'm in lecture building two, which just so happens to be where your chem class is." she teased, finding a seat in the hall. She made sure to save a couple seats beside her for Razor and her friends. "Hurry up you lazy butt. Class is going to start soon."Luke smiled, kissing her back. He looped his arm through hers and walked with her across the grounds and towards the lecture halls. "Yup. Winston. The old fart is getting lazier every day." He shook his head. "He misses you. You need to visit my place again soon." he said, pushing open the doors and moving into the hall. "Well. Here goes. See Laila anywhere?"
Razor quickly found his bag and ran to the Chem class, he sat by her and smirked "mighty kind of you to save a seat for me miss." He said pretending to be a cowboy and tipping his invisible hat. He took a deep breath "what chapter are we on now?"Kenna blinked pointing to the two 'love birds' were they flirting? Was he smiling? "Houston we have a problem...Ive stepped into a whole other dimension..." She mumbled sitting by her friend, Laila was in the middle two seats for her and Luke and the other for...Razor?
Laila laughed softly, her smile an easy one. It still was a wonder to her for how he got down her walls so easily. "You're welcome Ranger Rick." She pulled out their textbook and opened it up. "Chapter 12. We've just started on organic chem." She explained. Then Laila looked up and saw Kenna. She grinned, waving them over. Luke looked up as well, and he shook his head, smirking. "Now that is something I didn't see coming." He chuckled. "Those two are going to scrap till all time. What a cute pairing." He shook his head. "Some pity date, huh?" He took her hand, walking up to the seats with her and sitting down in the seats Laila had saved. "Hi Laila, Razor."
Razor felt a tinge of guilt looking at Kenna, she didn't deservd what he did to her. He nodded at Luke "good to see you...haven't you at practice much lately, you still going to play this season?" Kenna pecked Laila's cheek "hi darling! I see your date wasn't the most horrific thing on earth..." She whispered to her and winked.Razor opened his book getting ready to write notes, he felt judged among her friends and that was something he was used to, but with Laila he felt like he got another chance...to be the guy he wanted to be all along.
Laila blushed a little at Kenna's comment and she shrugged. "He's not what we thought he was..." She whispered back, smiling. She would tell her friend all about it, if Razor had not asked her specifically to not share his past with anyone. Then her gaze moved over to Luke and she smiled lightly. "So what happened with you two last night?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Luke nodded at Razor, forcing a small smile. "Yeah. I've been busy, but I think I'll still play." He responded curtly. Really, he didn't want to be on the team, but that would make him look like a wimp. The professor looked up then. "Mr. Luke. Do you have something you want to share with the class?" Luke blushed and leaned back in his seat again. "No Sir. Sorry."
The professor nodded and looked to the class again. "If we're all done chatting would you please open your texts and we'll get started."
Kenna giggled and smiled "well we are an item now, he loves me I've always dreamt of this and now...I don't know I can't stop smiling!" She bit her lip "but we have to talk, and it's going to need tissues and ice cream..."Razor started getting to business, he was secretly a real nerd. He stole Laila's pencil and bit it "darling number 2 pencils aren't worthy of your writing." He teased handing her one of his drafting pencils.
Laila's eyes widened. "Seriously? Finally!" She whispered, squeezing her hand. "That's wonderful!" Then she frowned in worry, but nodded. "Alright. I'm down for ice cream. How bout the parlor down the road right after this lecture?" She offered, wondering what on earth she wanted to talk about, and she was worried about her friend after what had happened to her. Then she turned to see Razor biting her pencil. She slapped his hand in mock indignation. "Hey! That's mine!" She said, but her frown dissolved into a grin when he handed her one of his pencils. "Wow... thanks."Luke was watching this whole circus with a slight frown. Though he didn't know for sure, he was suspicious that Razor was the reason for all Kenna's grief, and as such, he had half a mind to punch that boy right in the middle of the lecture. So he sat silently fuming as lecture wore on.
Kenna didn't trust Razor as far as she could throw him, he was a bad seed and those don't go away even if you cut off the weed it will still grow back. She nodded and focused back on the lesson, but all she felt was nauseous thinking about the organic cells growing in her right that minute.Razor nodded and continued writing, but you could see he was skipping ahead, he already knew all of this and was writing the notes of the next lesson. He folded a crane and passed it to her, it asked to meet her for lunch.
Luke looked over at Kenna, smiling gently. He could see that she was worried about something, and it didn't take much to guess what that was. He reached over and gently squeezed her hand. "Let's spend some time together again tonight." He whispered gently. Laila smiled down at the little paper bird and slowly unfolded it. Her smile only brightened. She nodded in agreement, deciding she wanted to spend some more time with him. That left a couple hours before lunch for her to talk with Kenna, then she could go for lunch with Razor. The rest of the lecture was more bearable, and by the time they were walking out, she was excited for lunch. She squeezed Kenna's hand and walked with her to the icecream shop. "So. What did you wan to talk to me about?" She asked.

Kenna sighed and grabbed a small icecream cone, she had the waffle cone dipped in chocolate and nuts. The icecream flavor vanilla with gummy bears. She sat and grabbed napkins for the tears that we're sure to come "I went to the emergency room last night...had my first exam..."
Laila ended up just getting a small chocolate cone so she could eat but still talk and provide support for what ever her friend needed support with. She took a big bite out of it and sat down, waiting. Kenna had been to the doctors? That was new. "Why did you go in? What was wrong?" She asked, really worried now. Was her friend sick?
Kenna swallowed "couldn't stop throwing up...so I go there with Luke, and the nurse tells me that I'm not sick..." She said quietly already feeling the tears build up "Laila please don't hate me..." She pleaded taking her hand and squeezing tightly.
Laila's frown of worry only grew as Kenna spoke. She squeezed her friend's hand back, everything else forgotten. What had happened to make Kenna so emotional? She was getting more worried by the second. "Kenna... I could never hate you. What is it? What's wrong?"
Kenna shook her head trying to stop crying and took a deep breath "I'm pregnant Laila..." She whispered and took a bite of her ice cream as tears streamed down her face "Im pregnant after one awful night...Luke almost walked out..." Then it dawned on her "he was jealous?..."
"Don't wreck my baby..." She mumbled teasingly but honestly didn't feel well enough to keep up the joke. She let him help her up to the front desk as they waited for someone to check them in. She hated the doctor, absolutely hated it...the last check up she had was before highschool! So she was pretty scared clinging onto Luke's hand tightly.
