McKensie and Lara II :)
Laila ended up heading towards her dorm room again, deciding to take a shower and clean up before heading out to meet her friends. She would check up on Kenna, lash Luke, and then tell them both about Razors request. She was interested to know both their opinions and always trusted them when it came to situations like this. However, she didn't want to hurt Kenna by doing this, as she knew she had a thing for Razor. But she didn't think they would mind much. Hopefully. She arrived at her dorm and went to the washroom, stripping and hopping into her shower, the water on hot. ....
Luke winced, shaking his head. "I slept in! You know me!" He wined, and blushed a little on the tips of his ears. He was notorious for hating mornings. Notorious enough that he could be counted on to miss at least every other morning class. "I can deal with Laila. I've survived her wrath before." He said, winking at her as his grin grew playful.
Skipping ahead a few hours, Kenna was laying on her bed flipping through her textbook biting the end of her pen as she tried to cram all of the information in her head. She blinked hearing the door and quickly got up getting it, she grinned seeing her best friend "hey! Sorry I didn't text you back I was with Luke." She grabbed a blanket snuggling on the couch as she was freezing in her little apartment "how was the lecture? Did I miss anything essential?"
Laila, freshly showered and feeling much more at ease, her short brown bob hanging around her ears in a still damp matt. She ran her thumb along her lip as she waited, thinking about her interaction with Razor. Why did he want her so badly? It was odd, really. Most players just went for the girls that were easy to get. So it perplexed her that he would try so hard to just go out with her. It definitely made her like the idea of being with him less. That was when the door opened. Laila grinned immediately embracing her, before strolling into her friend's apartment like it was her own. "Boring as usual. Figures Luke and you would dump me." she rolled her eyes, moving over to the fridge to search for any leftovers she could steal. "Just missed a review from last week. But seriously. Why weren't you there?" She asked, raising an eye at her friend as she grabbed a coke and cracked it open.
Kenna took a deep breath "I uh got really drunk last night and lost my virginity." She said in one long quick stream of sentence biting her lip "I have the worse hangover and I can't even gave my reflexion let alone you guys...Luke already seemed pretty disappointed in me..." She said sadly moving the blanket closer "there's some Olive Garden if you want that..."
Laila pulled out the Olive garden left overs and grabbed a fork from the drawer, kicking the fridge closed as she sat at the table. Then she practically froze. "What?" She said, looking over at her incredulously. "You didn't! Oh my gosh... Kenny, what on earth happened for you to even touch a drink!?" She asked, shocked. It was not like Kenna to do something like that at all. Laila opened the food and started to eat, as she always did when she was nervous, or happy, or anything really. She was worried for her friend. What had gotten into her to just get drunk and laid? That was not like the Kenna she knew at all.
Kenna moaned burying her face in the side pillow next to her "it was stupid...I guess I just wanted to be noticed, spontaneous like you...it was horrible and I basically got kicked out of his apartment this morning." She was in tears at this point "I was so tired of being miss goody two shoes and never having a guy glance my way...you always have a date and guys chasing after you."
Laila winced and slowly lowered her fork to the table, suddenly feeling sick about all this. She got up and walked over to Kenna, slowly kneeling beside her before pulling her gently into an embrace. "Oh Kenna... please don't ever try to be anyone but yourself. You are such a lovely girl and an amazing friend and I hate that you want to be like me." She said honestly, sighing. "Yes, guys like me, but I wish they wouldn't, because they like me for all the wrong reasons. I only hope I find a guy that likes me for all the reasons that guys like you, Kenna dear. Please only be yourself." She whispered, snuggling with her friend on the couch.
Kenna sighed and snuggled close to her best friend happily "Lay...I just wish I could meet a guy that thought I was hot and sexy not just the girl next door. I did for half an hour and then I just felt icky...really icky!"
Laila nodded slowly in understanding, letting her eyes close as she rested her head against her friend's. "I'm sorry." She whispered, in reply to the yucky part. She knew her friend felt bad about it, and she wanted to make her feel better. "As for that sort of guy you're searching for. Why not try Luke? I've been trying to hook you guys up for long enough, you'd think you'd have given it a try at least once..." She teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Kenna bit her lip "he's just Luke...he's my best friend since grade school, I can't see him like that it's too weird! He'd be an amazing guy for any girl just not me...I'm grateful to have him as such a good friend." She got up grabbing a sprite she realized her friend was dressed up and blinked "going somewhere tonight?"
Laila shook her head, clearly not agreeing with her reasoning, but she kept quiet. She knew how much Luke cared for Kenna, and she knew it wasn't just because they were friends. "Ok. It was just a suggestion." She said, shrugging. She sighed heavily then and nodded when Kenna noticed that she was meeting something. "Yeah. Unfortunately." She shook her head. "I want to stay at home and just do Chen homework, but I have to go for supper with Razor to try and get him off my back. Maybe once I kick his sorry little butt into the street he'll stop asking to have sex with me." She joked, shrugging.
Kenna froze leading the name, she swallowed and nodded "her certaintly is a player...at least you get free food." She tried to joke back but her heart was aching, she was merely a pawn in the elaborate plan to get to her best friend. How could she have actually believed he wanted her? "It could be fun..." She tried again and got up putting her sweatshirt on, it was actually Luke's but he never seemed to want it back and it was so comfortable.
Laila grinned then, knowing that her friend knew her so well. Well enough to know that food came first. Always. "Yes. And it better be something worth my while. If he even tries to pull fast food on me..." She shook her head, contemplating what she would do. Then she scoffed. "Fun? The only thing fun about being around that airhead is going to be leaving him. He has no way of being kind whatso ever, and so far the desperate had not really got me attracted to him." She shrugged. "You sure you'll be ok tonight? I promise we can watch tv or something tomorrow." She offered, feeling badly for leaving her alone.
Kenna shook her head "don't worry about me! Just try and have a good time, you might be surprised..." She rubbed her hands together "I might call Luke and we can watch some crime shows together..." She said with a small smile. "Don't worry, I'm not a fragile vase that shattered...I'm still me and I'll get over it."
((sorry I haven't been responding as frequently. I have a lot of homework as its almost march break and I'll be going away with family, so I've had less time to be on here, sorry.))Laila nodded slowly, convinced that she would be alright, as long as she had someone here with her. "Alright. But call me if you need anything." She said seriously. "I know you think I might have fun, but I'd be more than happy to be interrupted." She said seriously. "Just try to forget about last night, ok?" She said gently. "I hate to see you so sad." She said honestly. She slipped on her jacket. "But I better head out soon..."
((No it's ok :) thanks for letting me know!))Kenna smiled lightly and squeezed her hand "he's not so bad...try to put past prejudices aside and pretend your meeting him for the first time." She nodded and waved "love you awesome nerd..." She didn't think she'd ever let her know it was Razor she had sex with. She was going to move on and deny that it ever happened.
((np, thanks for understanding))Laila nodded, deciding to try it, but not because she wanted to. "Fine. But only for your sake, not his. He doesn't deserve it." She said, winking at Kenna. "Try to have a good time, ok? Call Luke over. I'm sure he'd be thrilled." She smiled, tugging her jacket closed, "See you later tonight." She said, opening the door and disappearing into the cool night air. She walked out to the commons, where the soft light of lamps lit up the now empty yard. No one was out at this time of night. Everyone was at house parties or off school grounds. Everyone except her, Kenna, Luke, and apparently the boy she was supposed to be meeting.
Razor was waiting for her by the lamp post, he gave a smile and nodded "hey, you look nice. I was thinking we go to the starlight lounge tonight. Open and public so you don't think I'll try anything." He promised and walked with her down the road.Kenna quickly called up Like, she hoped he wasn't too busy tonight.
Laila was a little surprised by his offer. She had been half expecting him to try and get her back to the house as quick as he could, in which case she would kick him and leave again. But he didn't he was actually making an effort, and that was something she wasn't prepared for. It made it very hard to stay frustrated with him. "Alright." She said softly, straightening her beige leather jacket a little. "That would be nice." She found herself smiling genuinely and walking with him towards the lounge. Luke had been doing homework, but he immediately picked up the phone when it rang. He had only glanced at the number, but he knew who it was. "Hello? Kenna? Everything alright?" he asked, worried about her. He was especially worried because of what had happened last night. "Are you alone? Do you need me to pick you up?" he asked, the worry evident in his voice. Running a hand over the back of his neck, he tried not to sound too frightened for her sake. He cared about Kenna and her well being, and only wanted her safe.
Razor smiled lightly and tucked his hands in his pockets as he whistled in the darkness "so did you have a good day? I actually went to class, engineering...that's what I wanted to do when I got here."Kenna sighed in relief "hi...yeah I'm fine, can you come over please? Maybe we could watch some movies...Laila is on a date and I don't want to be alone...you make me feel safe..."
Laila shrugged a little. "So far it was ok. I was ditched in chem by my friends. Some loser screwed Kenna." She sighed softly. "I'll sack whoever did it later." She smiled a little then. "But engineering is cool. I didn't think you had an interest like that." She said honestly. She didn't think he had an interest at all. Well... besides for his obvious love for girls. Laila looked up at the entrance to the lounge and smiled softly, pushing open the doors and moving into the warm interior of the restaurant. Luke relaxed when she responded and he sighed in relief. She was ok, and furthermore, she wanted to see him. A smile crept over his face and he nodded eagerly. "Yeah, sure. I'm down for it." He agreed. "See you in a sec." He hung up, hoping that his blush did not somehow become obvious over the telephone at her last sentence. He grabbed his jacket and headed outside, making the short walk across the campus quickly
Razor nodded slightly, he wasn't going to admit it was him...better to keep her in the dark instead of finding out he really was the biggest jerk. But with her, it sounded stupid but he wanted to be better for her. He wanted to be the good guy. He pulled out her chair for her and smiled putting her jacket on her chair as he sat down "yeah, it's what I've always had a passion for...but since my dad was put in jail...I just feel lost, find no purpose so...I distract myself."Kenna got up when she heard the door, she was wrapped in her fluffy blanket and grinned seeing him "come on in, I just made some popcorn...you probably will think it's nasy since it's not swimming in butter!" She teased but honestly meant it as well, she was a healthy eater freak and he ate anything in sight like Laila.
Laila had to admit that she was surprised when he actually pulled her chair out for her. A shy smile crept onto her face and she sat down quickly, scooting her chair in and folding her hands together, resting them on the edge of the table. What was it about him that made her reserve crumble? It was not a good sign at all. Laila's expression grew sympathetic at his words and she frowned a little. Was that the reason he was the way he was? If that was true, than maybe he really wasn't that much of a jerk as she had first thought. "I'm so sorry." She said softly, her words genuine as the waiter walked over. "Drinks for you two?" he asked. ....
Luke smiled, glad to see Kenna when she opened the door and let the light of her place shine onto the chilly outdoors. He took her invitation and stepped into the warm interior of the place, grinning mischievously. "No butter? What sort of popcorn is that if it has no butter?" he teased, shaking his head. He walked into the kitchen and spotted the popcorn on the counter. Grinning, he snagged a couple pieces and popped them into his mouth. "So what are we going to watch?" he asked, raising a brow at her.
Razor waved off her words not comfortable with sympathy, he kept himself pretty guarded. Being a jerk and making jokes was just a way to cover how he really felt and no one had seen that side of him since he was just getting into his teenage years. He wanted beer but also knew what alcohol did to him...and what he did when he was intoxicated "um just a Dr.Pepper for me, what would you like?" He asked Laila willing to order anything she wanted.Kenna slapped him lightly "hey! Don't you know the rule? No eating the popcorn until the movie starts!" She protested and laughed taking the bowl and putting it on the coffee table near the couch. Her apartment was really well furnished and decorated, she hated to admit it but she was well off. Her parents paid for everything, she really never had to work for anything. But she was generous and never flaunted her wealth ever. She pat the couch wanting to snuggle "I need my pillow! And you decide...you know I'm bad at making decisions."
Laila was thankful in a way, for his dismissive gesture, as she knew then that he was not comfortable talking about it. She could understand that much. From the confession he had given her, she could see enough into this other side of him that she was starting to understand why he acted how he did. And when she could peel back the hard outer layers and see who he was underneath, she found her suspicion dissolving. She knew that in order to keep hating him like she had promised herself, she was on a slippery slope. She noted however, how he didn't order alcohol. It was a point, really. He was asking her to trust him, she could see that much. Laila chewed her lip for a moment, thinking. She could play it safe and get a coke, or she could respond to his request and trust him. It was getting harder and harder to hate this boy. Laila sighed. "I'll get a light white wine please." She said, giving the waiter a small smile as he nodded and walked off. Yes, she did like wine, but it was more of a response to his choice of drink and the message that came with it. While his drink told her you can trust me , hers responded with, I do.Luke grinned, following her like a flock of birds as she carried the popcorn away. He wanted it, like he wanted any sort of snacks or junkfood. When she patted the couch, he smiled and nodded, wanting just as much as she did to cuddle together. But first he slid in a CD, before joining her quickly on the couch. He draped an arm over her shoulder as the TV blinked to life and the previews started. "Well. You know I'll never choose a sappy girl movie." he teased, reaching over to grab a couple more pieces of popcorn and eat them before she could grab his hand away. "So guess what I put in..." he wiggled his eyebrows.
Razor couldn't be more shocked at her choice, he was sure the message must have been muddled along the way. She trusted him? He didn't think he deserved anyone's trust. He felt about a centimeter high now, he had screwed her best friend. It was practically rape! Why couldn't his past self see a snap shot of the future before making such idiotic decisions. He gave a disarming smile "so, I assume you want to be a scientist of sorts?" He needed to keep the topics on her, the less she knew about him the better. Kenna gasped smacking the back of his hand lightly "did you not hear what I said? Previews don't count!" She laughed nipping his jaw playfully like the always did, she shook her head laughing "do I really want to know? I assume it will have exploding cars and at least one epic chase correct?" She teased and snuggled on his chest. He was so warm and his chest so stern she always felt safe with him ever since she accidentally stole his ninja turtles lunchbox in kindergarten. It was a peanut butter sandwich and she's allergic to peanuts, he stayed by herside even to the hospital though his mother and hers couldn't stop arguing about who's fault it was.
Laila knew she was being reckless by ordering wine. But when was she one to play it safe? Besides, she had a hunch that Razor was telling the truth... about his past, and why he was the way he was. And if he was telling the truth, then she really had no reason not to trust him. Laila let any suspicions of him, and any hate for his jerkiness in the past slide off her shoulders as she tried to forgive and forget. Everyone deserves a second chance... right? His smile and question had her warming up immediately, as she loved to talk about her passions. "Yes. A biological researcher and maybe photographer." She explained. "That way I can see the world as I work." She explained, shrugging. "Besides. I've always been a bit of an adrenaline junkie." She admitted, her mouth curving slightly. Luke chuckled softly, shaking his head as he chewed the popcorn and swallowed. "Of course there's explosions, peanut, what else?" he teased, his eyes bright. "Lots of guns and explosions, and agents, and all that good stuff." He grinned and bumped his nose against her cheek. "That's what makes a good movie. Action." he snaked his hand towards the bowl again, hoping to snatch a couple more pieces of popcorn before the movie started, just to bug her.
Razor chuckled and nodded "really I couldn't tell?" That was one of the reasons he was so drawn to her, she always was active and took risks "danger must be your middle name...I guess dinner was sort of a lame idea of a date, we could have gone on that new rollaf coaster downtown. Everyone I know is too chicken to go, it's sad really." He shook his head mockingly and chuckled "but biology is cool, I'm more into things that aren't alive but it'd be boring to take pictures of machines right?" He glanced through the menu his stomach growling.Kenna saw the hand and bit his finger lightly, not enough to hurt him. "Next time it's the whole hand mister!" She laughed and ate a piece just to bug him, she was never good about watching movies with him they always laughed and teased each other during the whole film that the actors themselves couldn't hear their own lines it seemed. She poked his side "no peanut, I thought that name went extinct in third grade!"
Laila felt the heat creeping into her cheeks and she shook her head, smiling wider than de meant to. "Yeah, I guess you could say that." She agreed. The waiter came back then, leaving their drinks on the tables. "I'll take your orders in a moment." He said, disappearing into the restaraunt again. Laila took a sip of her wine, and then ran her finger around the rim of the glass until it hummed. "Roller coasters would be fun to do another time." She assured, not really realizing that she had admitted to the possibility of another time. "But the dinner is rather nice too...." She said honestly, a smile creeping up on her cheeks again. "I think machines are very cool. Their just not as warm as animals." She said, shrugging. "I think animals have more compassion than machines." She smiled lightly.Luke grinned and snatched his hand back, clutching it to him and putting on a hurt face. "No fair!" He complained as she ate some of the popcorn just to tease him. He knew that was why she had done it, and he intended to get revenge. Then he grinned. "Yes, peanut. And no, it never went extinct. It's the perfect name for a little peanut like you." He teased, kissing her nose to distract her while he grabbed the largest handful of popcorn her could, and then proceeded to stuff it in his face.
Razor nodded "yeah, maybe during Spring Break? We could make a day of it...go on the dollar coaster get some crappy hot dogs. It doesn't even have to be a date you could bring some friends if that would make you more comfortable? I know this is pretty much a pity date, you'd rather eat glass than be seen with me...but thanks for coming anyways." He said honestly and took a sip of his drink scanning the menu wondering what sounded the best.Kenna gasped and pushed her palm at his face twasingly "Luke Skywalker! You weirdo now there is no popcorn!" She pouted her eyes puppy like, she moved the nearly empty bowl and picked up the pieces that were scattered all over the floor and trying to escape into the couch cushions. She winked to show she really wasn't that upset and shook out the blanket snuggling back up "no food for the action flick I guess!" She flicked his nose and tsked him "if you had a girlfriend she wouldn't tolerate such behavior! Sarah would maybe...why don't you ask her out?"
Laila laughed softly. "Rollarcoasters and cheep hotdogs sound right down my alley." she agreed. "I'll try to drag a few people along, but I highly doubt I'll find anyone who would come with me." she said, shaking her head. "No one really has the guts." She lifted her eyes to look at him. "But that's besides the point. I don't mind going just with you. I really don't." She assured, looking up as the waiter returned again. Razor's past had made her realize that he had a reason for what he did. "I may have misjudged you, and I'm sorry for that." She said sincerely, before turning to the waiter. "Alfredo spaghetti dinner special for me please." She said, smiling curtly at the waiter who nodded and jot it down before turning to Razor. "And for you sir?"Luke chuckled and shook his head, holding up a popcorn kernel reverently for her. "See, there's still some left." He smiled and fed it to her for her, before turning to look back at the screen. His previous happy mood sobered a little at her question. He sighed. "Ah... yeah. I suppose I could ask her out. But what would be the point?" he shrugged. "I don't like her. I mean, who could like a girl with hair like that?" he said, wagging his eyebrows to try and lighten the mood again, but his eyes had lost some of their shine. There was a deeper reason why he wasn't dating, and he didn't want to share that with her. She would just laugh at him, and he was sure of it.
Razor smiled, and shook his head "you wouldn't be the first and you certainly won't be the last! I'm not a good first impressions guy, I will probably never pass the parent test and I'm a bit of a scrud." He nodded at the waiter "ah yes ill have the steak and audio gratin potatoes and bring the girl a fudge brownie." He said seriously handing back the menus he knew how much she loved them.Kenna frowned and hugged him "hey...I didn't mean to upset you, you can date whoever you want! Any girl would be so lucky to be with you...I might even get green with envy losing my best friend." She nuzzled his chest and inhaled his musky sandalwood scent with the minty aftershave undertone.
Laila shook her head in amusement, thought she was feeling bad for him deep down, and the sympathy showed in her eyes. She felt so guilty for thinking badly of him at first, and she was determined to move forward on a better foot. At his last item ordered, her eyes lit up with delight and she grinned. 'thank you.' She mouthed as the waiter walked away. Then she leaned her elbows on the table. "How did you know?" she asked, thrilled that he knew what her favorite dessert was.Luke molded his smile carefully so she wouldn't see that he was downhearted. He kept up his smile through her apology, but it faltered when she said 'friend'. Over and over he had been friendzoned. Since grade eight actually, but he was content to keep waiting. He kissed her hair gently and leaned against her. "You'll never lose me, I promise." he whispered, his eyes returning to the movie.
Razor chuckled and smirked "I can't reveal all my secrets...I'm glad you like it, the pasta is really good here. I'm so glad you aren't one of those salad and water girls...why spend money when they aren't going to eat it?" He grabbed a roll and buttered it peeling it apart and munching.Kenna kissed his chin and nuzzled him "good..." She was worried about his change of energy, he wasn't as jubilant as before she stroke his strong abs since she knew he liked that "I still don't know what we are watching Skywalker."
Laila found her cheeks growing red as he talked, and she smiled, shaking her head sheepishly. "Yeah, I can't stand girls like that. I mean... if you're worried about losing weight, start working out, and then eat whatever you want... I mean... doesn't that make more sense than just being vegetarian?" she shrugged, taking another sip of her wine. A warm feeling in her stomach made her wonder if she was getting slightly tipsy, or if she was just embarrassed and pleased that he noticed what sort of food she liked. Luke closed his eyes when her fingers ran over his abs and his mouth curved into a lazy smile. "Bourne, peanut. The first one. Bourne Legacy." He grinned. "One of my favorites." he looked to the screen. "This is when the shooting starts..." he said with a wry grin, and looked back at her. "Too scary? I can cover your eyes for you." He teased, his eyes sparkling. He was trying to forget what they had just talked about.
Razor nodded and smiled "so do you like working out? I mean it looks like you really take care of yourself." He would have just said her body was smoking, but it was like a little voice inside was telling him to shut up and shape up for her. He took a sip of his drink part of him longing for alcohol.Jenna nodded letting him block the scary things from her, she was an innocence that was almost too young. She was sheltered and protected by her friends which is why it was her own fault that she got screwed last night. Her friends were busy and like a little minnow she got caught up in the trap.
Laila couldn't keep the blush from growing and she nodded, playing with her fork. "Yeah. I do. I try to stay in shape." She explained, shrugging it away. The waiter came then and placed their dishes in front of them. She twirled her fork in the spaghetti, trying to get the blush to go down. Yeah, people had complimented her before, but he sure had a smooth tongue. And the alcohol helped make her feel more relaxed and happy. She didn't miss the way he seemed to watch her drink however, and she realized with a guilty twinge that he probably wanted a drink, as he only was not drinking for her sake. Laila raised one eyebrow and held out her glass. "I'm happy to share, unless of course, wine is too light for your taste."Luke loved her innocence. He loved her childlike wonder and sheltered responses. He loved feeling like he had someone to protect. He smiled down at her and kissed her forehead lightly. "It's all over." He whispered, wrapping his free arm around her once more. He leaned his head against hers and smiled. "So. School tomorrow again... Am I right?" He huffed tiredly.
Razor shook his head and smiled "thanks for offering but I really am ok with my D.P. And wine is a little sissy for guys to be drinking, unless of course you have a handlebar mustache and talk it a hoity toity accent!" He teased pretending to do so "so what other things do you enjoy to do?"Kenna nodded and sighed "I'm going to have so much homework...the professors will kill me for missing..." She moaned and nuzzled him, maybe she could date him, he was handsome and smart...kind and gentle, it seemed like he knew more about her than she did. "I do feel kind of sick though..."
Laila found herself laughing in despite of herself, and she shook her head. "Alright alright. So I suppose you just stick to beer then. Can't ruin a reputation." She teased, shaking her head. "I'm no hoity toity, but I do like wine." She said, taking another sip to make her point. "But I do understand the manly thing. I don't mind." She smiled easily. "So, tell me about you family. Any siblings?" She asked, making an effort to get to know him better. Luke laughed softly, understanding her completely. "Oh I know. Don't worry, I'll be in the same place as you. I missed too." He smiled, his eyes not leaving the screen, but his attention was on her. "We can take the brunt of the force together." Then his smile fell and he looked down at her. "Sick?" he repeated. "Are you ok? Is there anything I can do? Is it just a cold? Or upset stomach? Or just a headache?" he asked, worried for her.
Razor chuckled "when women drink it isn't hoity toity, it's feminine and sexy." He cleared his throat "sorry romantic, ym I asked you a question first missy. Then maybe I divulge into my messed up family with you alright?" He took a bite of his steak "manliest meat, want some? It would be good in your pasta."Kenna groaned "move move move." She couldn't get to the bathroom fast enough so she threw up in the popcorn bowl groaning. She felt shaky and dizzy, it wasn't a sensation she had ever felt before it was a little frightening.
Laila smiled softly, shaking her head. "It's ok, Razor. I don't mind that you think I'm sexy." She said, winking. Then her smile wavered a little. "I just like to have a choice in who's... well..." She shrugged, "I don't like guys just looking at me for that." She said honestly. She felt badly at his next comment however, and nodded, deciding she didn't have the right to pry. "Ok... well. I have two siblings. Both older boys." She said, shrugging. "Guess that's why I'm a tomboy." She smiled and nodded. "If you don't want it all, I don't mind having some." She said politely. Luke jumped up, watching her scramble away, and he winced when she started to throw up. he was at her side in less than a second, his hand wrapped up in her hair to hold it away from her face. "Hang in there..." he whispered, his free hand rubbing over her back. He knew it was no fun to be sick. "Let's get you too bed." he said gently, putting the bowl in the sink and rinsing it out, before scooping her up and carrying her and the bowl to her bedroom. He set her down gently and pulled the covers over her. "Want something to drink?" he said, setting the bowl by the bed.
Razor nodded in understanding "I am attracted to you because your so dangerous and smart, sarcastic and funny...being sexy is just one of the things on a very long list." He cut off a piece and cut that into smaller pieces mixing it into her pasta "so are your brothers super protective? Do you have any nieces or nephews?" He asked focusing on her.Kenna moaned and shook her head "I'll probably just throw that up too...I'm so sorry Luke, I ruined a perfectly good night..." She truly felt bad that he had to take care of her, she moaned and threw up again coughing "I don't know where this came from..."
Laila truly did feel her heart flutter then, and a foreign hopeful feeling started to take hold in her gut. He likes me for other things... not just my body. No one's ever actually like me for me before.... She smiled shyly at him, tucking her short bangs behind her ear. "Thank you. That means a lot." She said honestly, smiling as he gave her some of his meat. She twirled some of it with the pasta onto her fork, and then took a bite, smiling in satisfaction. It tasted wonderful. Once she swallowed, she took another sip of wine and nodded. "Yeah. They're protective of their little baby sis." She rolled her eyes. "But they both have girlfriends, so they understand that I'll be dating at some point." she shrugged. "Neither of them have kids yet, but the eldest is engaged, so we'll see." She smiled softly. "They're great though. Even if I don't see them often anymore. I mean... I don't have that much time to visit now that I'm in Uni and all."Luke gently brushed her hair away from her face and gave her a sympathetic smile. "You didn't ruin anything, I promise. I still had a lovely time with you." he promised, tucking the blanket around her. "I don't like to see you sick, peanut..." He said honestly, his brow stitched in worry. He wasn't sure where this could have come from either. He hadn't known of any flu going around. "Maybe you ate something funny?" He suggested.
Razor nodded and smiled "yeah, I bet that is difficult...my mom is remarrying and I don't like the guy, he thinks he is so perfect and me and my sister are spawns of Satan...my sister Joy she's nine, cutest kid on the planet. She wants to be an artist, she has already started like making greeting cards and getting pretty big bucks out of it..." He smiled to himself almost proudly "she is in a lot of therapy though...my dad attacked her and she was hospitalized for the longest time...I worked full time trying to pay of the bills and take care of my mom, I thought id never get to go to Uni." He had never told anyone this, it was huge that he mentioned any of it...he hated sympathy and pity which is why he pushed people away and became a jerk...Kenna sighed "I hadn't really eaten anything all day...except the popcorn." She admitted pulling the blanket up to her face "if I'm not feeling better tomorrow I'll have Laila take me to the doctor...I can't afford to be sick it's nearly Speing Break! We are going on our road trip..."
Laila kept quiet as he spoke, and slowly her heart sank into the depths of her. His story was so sad... she found her heart pulsing in pain for him. Oh why did I judge him so soon? I feel sick for misjudging him..... Laila found herself at lost for words at first. "I..." She mumbled. "I... I'm so sorry." She looked up at him slowly, her expression sympathetic. "I had no idea... that sounds really rough."Luke's constant frown of worry stayed ever present. "Maybe it was because you didn't eat anything..." He lay the back of his hand on her forehead gently and felt her temperature. "You feel a little hot..." he said honestly. "Maybe you should get Laila to take you to the doctor tomorrow." At her mention of spring break, he smiled slowly, nodding his agreement. "Yes, spring break will be fun. You need to get better before then, you hear me? I'm not going to just go with Laila." he said, winking at her.
Razor shook his head "hey, I didn't tell you so that you could pity me, I don't want any of that. It's my life and I'm sure others have it worst...you trusted me enough to order wine so I thought I'd return the gesture. Now, what do you like to do for fun?" He took some of the carmel from her brownie and dabbed her nose.Kenna laughed lightly and nodded "I know...you guys would kill eachother without me..." She teased and moaned feeling cramps and nausea at the same time "maybe you could take me to the ER tonight?...I don't think I'll be able to sleep without some relief..."
Laila nodded in understanding again. It helped for him to not want pity. Though she knew it was selfish, it allowed her to let go of the worries about his issues she had already acquired, and just enjoy her time here. She smiled lightly then, nodding. "Camping. Outdoorsy stuff. I like to cliff jump, and water ski whenever I get the chance." She said honestly, shrugging. Then she laughed, reaching up her tongue to try and lick her nose. "Hey!" She eventually gave up and just wiped it off, licking her finger. She reached over then and smeared whippedcream on his cheek, giggling as she did so. "You are so immature!" she said, even though she was doing the same thing back. Luke nodded, knowing it was true. He shrugged. "Can't deny that." his easy laugh died on his lips when she moaned and seemed to fold under some pain that he could not see. He hated to see her so sick. It made him feel helpless to do anything. "Of course." He agreed, scooping her up again. "Hang on. It's only a short drive." he said, bundling her gently into the passenger seat of her car. He knew where she kept her keys, so he turned the car on and drove off.

Kenna sighed and nodded hugging him tightly and letting go "thanks...now seriously, why aren't you in class? Laila is going to kill you...you left her alone with the hunchback of notre dame!"
