McKensie and Lara II :)
Arwyn crept up behind him, grinning. "Boo!" She cried. "Why are you in bed so long? Is it a human custom to sleep until it's dark again at night? I was unaware your species was nocturnal." She teased. Jude laughed then, kissing her. "I know you're serious, and so am I. I'd love another child."
Charlotte nodded, relaying what had been said, down to each and every word she remembered.
Sam rolled his eyes and looked up "Im nocturnal...alright alright." He got up putting on his dressing robe and following her to breakfast.Mary hugged him tightly "Mmm I love you so much..."
Mira nodded and created a glittering symbol on the table with her finger. "He feels like he ruined the family, that he ruins your life...that's what he meant when he said your better off...he said he loved you."
Arwyn laughed easily and skipped along the hall, finally having something fun in her life, someone to talk to. "Mary? Is breakfast ready?" She asked the maid, leading Sam into their dining room.Jude smiled, wrapping his arms around her waist as hugged her. "the love goes both ways darling."
Charlotte shook her head, her eyes growing dangerously close to filling with tears. "Loved. Not loves." She whispered. "Even if what you say were true, there is nothing to be done about it now. He broke it off, I'm sure you know that can't be undone in this society. Not by the woman."
Marie nodded "yes miss, your favorite waffles and fresh fruit. Would your friend like anything else?"Sam shook his head "that is my favorite meal as well thank you!"
Mary smiled and knocked on the door "Jay? Would you like some food?"
Mira nodded and connected the symbols. It turned into a glittery mirage "only you can hear his true heart...it's a spell, listen...that's all I ask."
Arwyn grinned, climbing up on her chair at the table. "Thank you! You always know what to cook." She smiled brightly. "We have something in common, Sam. I knew you'd come to enjoy breakfast eventually... even if it was early for you...." She grinned. Jay looked up when a knock came on the door. "I'm alright Mary, but maybe you could ask for a small something to be brought for Drina?"
Charlotte nodded rather hesitantly but gave in, leaning a little closer and listening.
Sam rubbed his eyes and nodded sleepily "how are you so perky in the morning Arwyn?" He dipped his finger in the cream and splatted it on her nose with a laugh.Mary nodded "I'll get a warm bowl of oatmeal." She rushed out and told the maid, she felt like she was running the household at this point.
The mirage whispered softly in her ear the true thoughts of his heart "I was a failure as a father and husband...I was a burden to Charlotte...she deserves better...I am exactly like my father...I wonder how they are doing?...I didn't leave her to hurt her...why does she think I don't love her?"
Arwyn shrugged, "I don't know... I just am! I like the sunrises, and mornings, and just new days in general." She squeaked in surprise when he splattered cream on her, and shot him an indignant look. "Oh you'll pay for that..." She warned, wiping it off and licking it off her finger. Then she scooped up some more and smeared it on his cheek, laughing as she did so.Jay called his thanks out to her as the maid ran to get some prepared, and then returned with a steaming bowl of oatmeal.
Charlotte closed her eyes slowly as the tears rolled down her cheeks. "Oh Stefan..." She whispered, her heart hurting all over again. She wished they could just communicate better, wished she would have listened. "Mira... would you mind very much if I went back to see him? We need to talk."
Sam laughed and tried to reach his tongue to lick it off, but it was not long enough. He wiped it with the napkin and grinned "you make mornings enjoyable!"Mary took it in and helped feed Drina slowly, it was amazing that she was alive let alone doing this well.
Drina slowly ate, as she woke up this morning she felt weaker and feverish.
Mira nodded and placed her cloak around her "use the horse in the stables, it is strong and will be good for your journey. I do hope we meet again."
Arwyn laughed easily at his antics and shook her head. "I'm glad we can have some fun." She said honestly, eating a bit of breakfast. "I don't have anyone my age around here usually."Jay held Drinas hand with a nod of thanks to Mary. She had been so much help. "Drina... Can you hear me? Are you feeling ok?" He asked gently.
Charlotte clasped the cloak together and smiled her thanks. "You don't know how much this means to me. Feel free to pay a visit any time. My house is on the coast." She waved and ran out to the stables, leaping atop the horse without saddling it and riding off towards the volcano again.
Sam nodded "that's going to change, I'm Going to introduce you to my friends...though I will tell them that you were my friend first. I'm your knight."Drina moaned and nodded "I can hear you...I just feel so cold..." Sweat beaded down her forehead.
Stefan was pacing the great hall, his father had betrothed him to a fire princess...he was to be married at sun down. He couldn't go through with it...he didn't have any live for that woman.
Arwyn smiled thankfully at him. "That will be very nice." She said honestly. "Thank you Sam." She said seriously, finishing her breakfast. Jay frowned a little, wiping her forehead with a damp rag. "Looks like you're picking up a fever." He said, worried.
Charlotte rode to the foot d the volcano, and then let the poor horse wander off as it wasn't doing well under the heat, well, neither was she, but she had to see Stefan. So she ignored her burning skin and trekked on towards the mouth of the volcano.
((I really want to kill off Drina, but we need some real intense at the edge of your seat drama to replace it. Ideas?))
((hmmm... well. There's a lot of different plays we could pull off of. If we want the drama to be caused by Drina, then we could have her almost die, or get carried off by some person, or even lose control of her powers. If we want the drama caused by Jay, he could end up going missing, leaving Drina to fend for herself, or he could be blamed for some crime... really there are so many different things we could do))
((Ooo I like the crime idea, I want to do more of a supernatural character than Drina. Maybe a Phoenix?...or I don't know were creature? Jay would have to teach Arwyn magic and that could go interesting?))
((So you want to rp another character? Like add another pair into the story? sorry I'm confused XP))
((Oh... ok. Well you can if you want to. But I can't say how Jay and Arwyn will react. I'm not against it though.))
((She's turned into a bit of a weak character, Sam will be there and soon another woman will enter Jay's life. Is that good? Or should I keep her?))
((Alrighty the fates will decide.))Sam nodded and cleared the plates, he helped the maid since that's what his parents taught him to do.
Drina shook and whimpered shutting her eyes, her powers reacted and branches grew around the bed with thorns and red flowers.
The volcano was decorated for the wedding with streamers and trumpeting. A royal wedding was an exciting event.
((Sounds good))Arwyn watched him help, something she hadn't done before, and then smiled a little. "Do you want to see the rest of the house? I could give you a tour." She offered.
Jay was pushed back by the thorns, getting scratched in the process, but he immediately hacked at them, wanting to be beside Drina again. "Drina!" he called, trying to reach her.
Charlotte looked on in wonder at all the decorations and festivity. "What is going on?" She wondered, entering the volcano finally. "Its a wedding. Prince Stefan is getting married!"
Charlotte paled. "What?" She asked, but the footman was already gone. She swallowed, and continued hobbling towards the main chamber, where people were starting to take their seats. She was almost completely covered in burns now, but she hardly noticed anymore. Not with the news.
Sam nodded and followed her "yeah, I would like that very much. It will make it fair when we play hide and go seek yes?" Drina took his hand pressing it to her face "I'm still here love..." her voice was shaking terribly and her grip was weak.
Stefan paced in his quarters, he refused to come out. If he didn't leave he wouldn't get married. Simple. The news spread to the foot man in the main hall "the Prince refuses to come out of his bedroom."
Arwyn laughed softly, nodding. "Yes. You're right. Come on then." She skipped off towards the next room, the drawing room where her mother's paintings hung.Jay didn't stop tearing at the vines, ignore the gashes he got in his hand. He let his other cup Drina's face "stay with me darling, I'm coming." He promised.
Charlotte turned at this news and her heart started to hope again. She hobbled off towards his bedroom, as she remembered where it was, and knocked on the door softly, burning her hand badly by doing so. "Stefan?" She croaked.
Sam looked around amazed at all of the paintings "I've never seen a forest so green before!"The branches started to wither, as if they represented her life and power. She moaned the fever getting to be more than uncomfortable "Jay..."
Stefan recognized the voice and quickly opened it "Charlotte!" He gasped pulling her close in his arms "let me take care of those burns..oh my darling..." He whispered dabbing each one with a special solution healing them.
Arwyn grinned, nodding eagerly. "I like to play in here. My mom did all these paintings." She explained. "It's really pretty when the light comes in." She walked to the book shelves. "And all my favourite books are here."Jay grew panicked, the colour draining from his face. "Drina... I'm right here." He said, ripping a hole in the vines finally so he could pull her into his arms. "It's ok Drina. Hold on. Please. You can get through this." He begged. "I know you can. Don't leave me."
Charlotte had literally collapsed In his arms. Yes the burns hurt, but she was crying for joy. "Oh leave them alone and let me kiss you." She whispered, pulling him down. "I love you Stefan I love you so much." She whispered, grinning happily.
Sam went to the bookshelf and pulled some out "hey I've read this one!" He exclaimed happily showing her the old leather book.Drina weakly clung onto him, her arm wrapped loosely around his neck. She leaned her head against his chest listening to the heartbeat, it was comforting "I...love...you." She whispered needing him to know.
Stefan kissed her softly and nuzzled her "I was trying to do what was best for the family...I never stopped missing and pining for you..."
Ashlynn smiled brightly. "I am just starting it, so no giving away the ending!" She grinned. "But its good so far. Want to read a chapter together? Or continue exploring?"Jay nodded slowly, hating to see her like this. "I love you too Drina, always have, always will." he whispered, kissing her gently.
Charlotte buried her face against him, nodding. "I know. I know that that now." she hugged him. "Don't ever leave me again, you hear?"
Sam put the book down "let's keep exploring, reading takes up time for playing!"Drina smiled softly, the flowers were shriveled and dying petals falling onto the bed. Her breath became raspy "teach...Arwynn.."
Stefan nodded and held her close "I promise...did you find Tide?..." He worried deeply about his son.
Arwyn nodded eagerly and motioned for him to follow. "Come on! You'll love the attics. There are so many hidden passages in this house." She said, giggling. Pulling on a candlestick, she revealed a passage into the wall and grinned. "Ready to explore?"Jay felt his heart pound with fear. "What?" He asked softly. "No. You will teach her Drina. You will teach our girl. You're going to get better." he said seriously.
Charlotte nodded. "Yes. I presume he's happy. He married Sam, and they're living in a cottage not far away." she explained.
Sam nodded and laughed following her into the dark space "woah...wish we had a torch or something..." He whispered feeling like it would be weird to talk loudly in the dark. The green of the branches had disappeared turning dead and brittle, Drina cupped his cheek slowly leaning her forehead against his "book...in chest..." She whispered needing him to know this.
Stefan smiled softly "as long as he is happy, then I will be too..." He cleaned the rest of her burns and gave her a small glass vial "drink this...it'll make you immune to the heat."
Arwyn grinned. "We don't need a torch silly." She made her hand glow and held it up. "Not when we have magic!" The stairs split into two dark hallways. "Which one?" she asked softly, a little nervous as it was dark and spooky in the passageways. Jay swallowed, shaking his head. "No Drina. You're going to teach her." he said insistently. "Don't talk like this..." Tears of frustration stung his eyes. "You're staying here. You're not going to... going to..." He couldn't say it.
Charlotte sat still while he healed her burns and then took the vial. "Thank you." She said softly, before drinking it. She grimaced. "Not the tastiest stuff.... I hope it works. I hate burns."
Sam took her hand and shut his eyes pointing to a random one "right it is! We need to remember the order so when we want to get back we won't get lost.Drina brushed the tears away with her thumb and hushed him gently "shh promise me that you'll take care of them...and yourself..." She whispered already feeling herself fading.
Stefan chuckled "it works, trust me...we have to sneak out, they are trying to force me into marriage..."
Arwyn nodded in agreement. "Yes. I'd rather not get lost." She said honestly, giving a light laugh. She smiled and turned right, climbing up another set of stairs. "Listen!" You could hear banging of pots and pans, and soft chatter below them.Jay tried to keep from crying, but he nodded slowly. "I'll take care of our family, and you, I promised." He whispered, his voice shaking. "But you're not dying. You wont. You can't."
Charlotte shook her head. "I know. I saw the girl. You're going to set all hell loose if you leave that one standing. And there's no telling what your father will do. But for once, I agree with you. Let's go!"
Sam looked down a grate and saw the kitchen staff "we are right above the kitchen." He whispered to Arwyn and listened to what they were saying. It was getting harder to breathe, she pressed her cold lips against his warm ones. She rested her head against his chest, her hand dropped from his face as she closed her eyes.
Stefan nodded and opened the window "guards are watching from down there!" He said frustrated and tried to think of another way out.
Arwyn grinned and knelt beside the grate. "We're like spies..." She whispered, thrilled. "I wonder how many more rooms this connects to?" She ran ahead and looked in another grate. Immediately she paled and stumbled back. "No..." She whispered, horrified by what she had seen. She pushed past Sam and ran down the end of the passageway, trying to get away from that image... her mother... pale as a ghost.Jay closed his eyes, the tears running freely and he choked back a sob. "Drina..." he moaned softly. He lay beside her. "I love you..."
Charlotte pulled him away from the window and down to the lower floors. "Don't you have another passage out down here?" She asked hopefully, knowing they had to get out before people came looking for him.
Sam stumbled but caught himself before rushing after her Arwyn?!" He called following the bouncing light from her palm "what is it?...please wait!"Stefan frowned "I don't know...maybe the servant passage ways but they'll be guarded as well!"
Arwyn could hear him, but barely. She was crying, and her heart was pounding so loudly in her ears. She shoved open the passage door and sprinted through the house, bursting outside in a dash towards the forest. She didn't know where she was going, but she wanted to get away. Charlotte frowned and swallowed. "Do you trust me?" She asked, taking both his hands in hers. She knew how to get them out, but it wasn't the easiest spell.
Sam rushed after her quickly, he couldn't let her get hurt or into trouble. The forest was green and lush with an enchanted glow. He had to try and stay focused though looking for Arwyn.Mary frowned as Justice started to sob, she bounced him lightly trying to calm him down "shhh Shh..."
Stefan nodded "more than anything!" He promised.
Arwyn ran and ran until she tripped over a log she had not seen and was sent sprawling into the forest moss. She curled up, not caring that she was in the middle of a wild forest, on her own as she sobbed. Jude walked in, smiling weakly at Mary. "So I suppose you heard about Drina?" He asked softly.
Charlotte nodded. "Hold on then." She closed her eyes tightly in concentration and projected them from the volcano and into the surrounding forest. She gasped and stumbled a bit when her eyes opened, but was smiling none the less. "Well that worked out all right!"
Sam listened closely till he heard soft sounds of crying and followed it, he sat near her and rubbed her back comfortingly. He said nothing, waiting until she wanted to talk and not rush it.Mary looked up and her blood went cold "no...I haven"
Stefan opened his eyes and looked around amazed "well done my love! Now we must run!"
Arwyn was a little surprised when Sam found her, but she was grateful none the less. She pulled herself up and hugged him tight, hiding against him. She couldn't stop crying. She didn't ever want to go back home. Her mother was dead. Jude sighed softly. "She got a fever Mary, and died suddenly."
Charlotte laughed softly and nodded, turning to sprint away into the forest. She giggled as she got away. "I'm faster than you!" She teased.
Sam hugged her close just letting her cry, he played with her hair and rubbed her back. He hadn't ever seen someone cry this much, what had she seen?Mary covered her mouth and sank into the chair, she was in shock losing her dear friend so suddenly. She watched Jude comfort Jay. She pulled Julian on her lap, he wouldn't understand or remember his mom.
Stefan laughed and sprinted after her "being one not born with legs you certaintly are quick!"
Arwyn cried until she had no more tears left, and then just sat numbly with him. "My Mum died." She whispered finally, letting her eyes close. Jude sighed softly, hating this situation. He didn't know how to comfort anyone, neither his wife nor Jay, who was not responding at all.
Charlotte giggled. "I've had a couple years of practice since I first gained them, if you remember." She smiled brightly at him. "I closed up our house by the way, I wasn't sure when I would return. I hope you don't mind."
Sam was shocked, he wasn't expecting that! He held her closer trying to keep her warm as well "I'm so sorry Arwyn..." He whispered.Mary sighef and put her hand on Jay's shoulder "we should have someone come and take the body...you don't need to see it..."
Stefan nodded "it's alright...would you want to open it up or find a new serenity?"
Arwyn nodded weakly, keeping her eyes closed. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do anymore. Her mother had been teaching her magic. Now there was no way she would learn, and she knew someone would find out about her being a witch if she didn't know how to hide it. And then she would be burned. She didn't want to burn. "Please kill me." She begged. "I'm going to die anyways. I'd rather you do it than someone else."Jay shook his head but didn't look away from Drina. His hand clutched hers, and he was intent on keeping it that way. "No. She might wake up. She's a witch. She could wake up. She might not be dead. She's not dead." he muttered.
Charlotte thought about that for a moment. "I liked our old house a lot." She started, smiling at him. "Especially since you built it." She kissed his cheek. "But maybe it's time to find a new place? Make a fresh start just the two of us?"
Sam shook his head "never! I'm not going to hurt you...or let anyone hurt you...I'm your knight member?" He helped her up "let's go...it's getting dark, your dad is going to be worried."Mary sighed "Jay there is no heart beat nor breath from her lips...I'm sorry...but your son needs you."
Stefan nodded "I will build a beautiful home for us..."
Arwyn swallowed, but couldn't argue, so she just nodded weakly and leaned on him for support as they walked back towards the house. "I don't want to go back... if I never go back I can pretend she's still there."Jay shook his head, not wanting to believe it. "She can bring herself back to life, I know she can. She's not dead." He completely ignored the comment about his kids. He was not thinking about them right now.
Charlotte smiled, thrilled. "Thank you Stefan." She hugged him quickly. "And I do hope that vial you gave me was actually cooling potion, and not something else dear..." She said seriously.
Sam sighed and nodded "I know, but it's getting dark and I don't know where else to go...your dad needs you Arwyn...if he lost you too...it would be bad."Mary sighed it was hopeless she picked up Julien and held him close "it's ok buddy, are you hungry?..."
Stefan sighed "you need to trust me on this! It was a cooling potion, I made it when I wanted you to meet my father."

Mary smiled and nodded "you sure?...I'm serious Jude, Sam needs a sibling."
Mira frowned "just tell me what he said..."
