McKensie and Lara II :)
Sam smiled happily "me too! I like to read a lot, what's your favorite book?"Sam gasped at first with the news androgen about his mother "but how?..."
Arwyn grinned. "I like the one about the princess locked up in a tower." She said. "What about you. What is your favorite?"Tide bit his lip. "My whole family, Sam, we're all merpeople." He said softly. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. Its not the kind of news I'm supposed to pass out right away."
Sam grinned and nodded knocking the tower over with a kaboom! "I like every story! I'm going to be a knight someday!" He said confidently pretending to wield a sword.Sam was a little shocked, but swallowed away the fear she touched his legs gently "so if you were in water?...you'd grow a tail?"
Arwyn giggled and looked up at him in admiration. "Well then I suppose you'll need a damsel in distress to save."Tide nodded, looking down at his legs. "Yes. I was born in the ocean. But my mother and father are both only half merperson. My mother's part human, and my father is part imp." He explained, holding her hand in his.
Sam pretended to pick up a crown and place it on her head "princess Arwyn!" He said triumphantly "I will protect you from anything!"Sam pressed his hand against her cheek "I wanted to free her, Tide...I'm not my father...please understand that. I love you no mAtter what you are..."
Arwyn did a deep curtsy and smiled. "And I dub thee my loyal knight." She said, smiling brightly. She had never had someone to play with like this before. Tide nodded. "I know. I know Sam. I didn't think you would want to keep her in a tank. But my parents didn't understand." He explained. "They wouldn't listen, which is why I had to run."
Sam smiled and pecked her hand like his daddy did to his mommy. He sighed "I hope your mommy will be ok, and daddy."Sam nodded "I'm going with you Tide, I can't stay here if I can't be with you."
Arwyn nodded slowly. "I'm worried about them." she said honestly. "Mom isn't doing so well..."Tide shook his head, his eyes sorrowful. "No, Sam you have a life here. I'll go find by own house, and as soon as we're both grown, you can move in with me."
Sam frowned "why was she so hurt?" He asked seeing a glimpse when his mom walked in the room.Sam shook her head "no, I'm going with you. I refuse to be a lady if I can't be with you Tide...please!"
Arwyn swallowed slowly. "Well... she was burnt..." She said, looking down at her hands nervously. Tide swallowed. "Sam, but you can't just leave you family for me! What if you get tired of me? What if we can't manage and we end up not able to eat? Or anything?"
Sam frowned "how?..." He wondered why someone could get so burnt without the house being burnt down.Sam kissed him deeply "shut up..."
Arwyn bit her lip, and then looked up at him. "Someone tried to kill her..." She said softly. Tide melted, not able to protest, and he kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her.
Arwyn nodded slowly, hugging him back. She needed this comfort, and it was lovely to get it. "I know. It was scary."Tide laughed softly. "Well now I suppose it is the women that are proposing in this era?" He kissed her nose. "Of course I will."
Sam frowned "my dad won't let anyone hurt her ok?" He promised and pat her back "he's strong!"Sam smiled and giggled "I'm not like any other woman...take me with you..."
Arwyn nodded weakly, curling up against him. "Ok. That makes me feel better." She whispered. Tide smiled at her gently. "If you're sure." he whispered, kissing her for a moment. "This isn't the sort of decision you can take back later."
Sam watched her and just held onto her, it was nice having her as a friend even if she was a couple of years younger he felt like a big brother.Mary was carrying Julian and sighed when Jude finally came "they were trying to burn her on a stake.."
Sam nodded "I know...it's all I want Tide, you are all I want..."
Arwyn looked up at him after a moment. "Could we do something else so I don't have to keep thinking about it?" She asked. "Like get a snack or something?"Jude shook his head. "I can't even fathom why someone would do that. It's horrific." He said softly.
Tide smiled brightly. "Well. You might change your mind after you see my tail... but go pack. We need to leave now."
Sam nodded "we could ask your nanny? I don't know how to make anything, mum gets grumpy when Im in the kitchen sneaking food."Mary tugged at him anxiously "I overheard them talking...she's a witch Jude" she said her eyes worried "I of course still love her but...why didn't they tell us?"
Sam nodded and grabbed her carpet bag packing her clothes and a few personal things. She left the locker her father gave her as a baby on the pillow as a kind of message.
Arwyn nodded in agreement, calling the nanny in to make them some food. "There we go. Now we just need to wait for it. So tell me more about you."Jude sighed softly, but he looked anxious as well. "It is rather big news dear, I assume they just didn't want anyone to know."
Tide had climbed back out the window and was waiting for her back on the ground. They had to make some headway before it was light out again.
Sam frowned trying to think of something "I like dogs, and I like to draw. I don't like sitting still or being quiet. I like when my dad is home...and I want to ride a horse. What about you?"Mary sighed "I don't know really how to react to this." She said truthfully biting her lip.
Sam followed after him, she took his hand and squeezed it "ready?"
Arwyn thought quietly of all the things he said and tried to remember them, and then came up with her own. "I like the outdoors, and I love our horses, I like books, the sky, and the rain. But I don't like when the thunderstorms shake the house... its scary."Jude nodded in understanding. "I don't either, its something that will take time getting used to."
Tide nodded, swallowing bravely. "Let's go." He agreed, and started off into the woods.
Charlotte woke early that morning, unable to sleep. She went to check on Tide, and when she didn't get a response, she went around the back and found his window open and room empty. "Stefan!"
Sam nodded "I don't like that either, cats scare me. They have sharp claws and teeth...just mean." He said mimicking a feral cat.Mary hugged him close "they were trying to kill her! That's horrible! In humane!"
Drina woke up to cramping "oh that hurts..."
Sam squeezed his hand "we can stay at the old cabin I used as a playhouse when i was a child."
Arwyn giggled, rocking back and forth. "We have a couple barn cats, but I don't see them much. I'm usually with the horses or dogs, or learning."Jude nodded, wrapping his arms around her. "I agree. I would like to know who was responsible."
Jay was already up. "Are you ok honey?"
Tide smiled, thankful. "That's wonderful. I'm glad there is at least somewhere we can stay."
Sam smiled "ok well...what other fears do you have? Your knight needs to know what to protect you from!"Mary sighed "Drina won't say...anything. I asked, she's just...too kind."
Drina arched and shook her head "no...it hurts..."
Sam pulled him inside "there's a bed too..."
Arwyn smiled and thought for a moment. "Well, I'm scared of the dark, and being alone, and vampires." She giggled. Jude nodded, sighing. "I'll ask Jay, he might have some idea."
Jay frowned a little. "What does honey, the burns?"
Tide grinned. "That's perfect! This is perfect!" He spun her around and kissed her.
Sam frowned "vampires aren't real!" He protested and poked her arm "Are they?" He asked wortiedly and bit his lip.Drina shook her head "the bsby...ahh!"
Sam laughed and held on "would if be alright to share the same bed?"
Arwyn blushed beet red and swallowed slowly, wondering if she should lie. "I uh... I don't know...."Jay winced and his eyes widened. "Doctor!" He called. "The child! Something isn't right!"
Tide smiled brightly. "We are engaged. I think it would be alright."
Sam nodded "ok well. Dinner is ready!"The doctor quickly came back in and frowned examining her "I need someone better than me...the baby is coming and your wife is in no condition to deliver." She called a doctor at a hospital, though she didn't usually.
Sam smiled and pulled him on the bed "I don't know what I'm doing..."
Arwyn nodded, glad for the change in conversation. "Great! I'm starved." She sat up straighter as the food was brought in. Jay stiffened. "What?" He shook his heAd. "Are they going to be ok? Is everything alright?"
Tide smiled gently, pulling her close, and lifting the blankets over them. "And I do?" He kissed her cheek. "Goodnight Sam."
Jude and Mary sat with the children. Julian slammed his spoon against the highchair impatiently he wasn't used to not being with his parents. The doctor waited impatiently on the phone, those arrogant big shots should answer the one once in awhile. This was an emergency for both mom and the baby.
Sam snuggled up close and lay her head on his chest, she caressed his strong stomach muscles with her thumb "goodnight..."
Jude got up, coming over to tend to Julian. "Hey little guy." He said, setting up some food on his tray. "You ready to eat?""Hello?" came a voice on the other line. "What seems to be the problem?'
Jay clutched Drina's hand. "Hurry!"
Tide smiled softly, allowing his eyes to close. He lay his head back and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Julien nodded and tapped the spoon "momma!" He said impatiently, where was she? He never went a day without snuggles from his mom.The doctor explained everything to the doctor "it's pertinent that you get here immediately! I'm not qualified for this kind of situation or have the right tools!"
Stefan bolted and ran to wgere Char was crying "darling?!...what?..."
Jude nodded, sighing softly. "She's resting right now." He explained. "She'll be out in a bit."The doctor nodded. "Be over in a minute." He promised, hanging up as he gathered his supplies and hopped in the carriage.
Charlotte didn't look up, she just held out a crumpled piece of paper that held Tide's note. "He ran Stefan, he ran because of you."
Sam munched his food quietly he didn't like the awkward tension. He smiled over at Arwyn she looked so worried. He liked being her knight.Drina was suffering crying out in agony as Jay dabbed her brow with a cold rag. The doctor allowed him to stay because Drina wouldn't let him go.
Stefan froze, it felt like his heart had been ripped out when she said those words 'because of you.' She blamed him, and she was right.
Arwyn smiled back weakly. She hated hearing the pitiful sounds coming through the door. "Can we go outside?" She asked him softly. Jay stuck by her side as the doctor came in, getting to work on trying to stabilize her condition, and help ease the child out. "Breathe, girl, It's going to be ok."
Charlotte sniffled and wiped at her tears. "I'm sorry Stefan... I... I'll be inside...." She stumbled towards the door.
Sam nodded and quickly took her out to the garden and sat on the swing "she'll be ok...there's a lot of doctors helping her.Drina nodded and tried to take deep breaths but the pain was overwhelming, her burnt body was trembling from the shock. She kept flitting in and out "Jay..."
Stefan walked out and stared at the wall he slammed his fist causing a huge dent. He didn't deserve to be a father...or a husband.
Arwyn nodded, sitting on the swing beside him. She dug her toes in to push herself a little. "I hope you're right."Jay held tightly onto her hand. "Its ok." He promised, trying to ease her pain with cold rags and cups of water. "Its going to be ok Drina, I'm here."
Charlotte went to their room and curled up on the bed, crying softly. She regretted what she said to Stefan, but she hated that she lost her son.
Sam pushed her slowly and nodded "It'll be a new day tomorrow that's what my dad says?"Drina shook her head "just do whatever you have to..." She told the doctor not being able to take much more.
Stefan sat in Tide's room staring at the window that was open, he shouldn't have forbid him from anything...he loved that girl.
Arwyn nodded. "Yes. Maybe everything will be better tomorrow..."The doctor nodded. "Baby is almost out dear, hang on just a little longer." He encouraged, coaxing the child out.
Charlotte cried herself to sleep. After not seeing Tide for so long... now he was gone, and before his birthday.
Sam smiled up at the moon, they were swinging over the little lake "look you are on the moon as well." He pushed her and watched her reflection on the water.Drina was losing consciousness she went limp as the baby cried out.
Stefan sighed, he should have never come back...he ruined everything. He left a note and quickly started his treck back to the volcano.
Arwyn giggled in excitement and looked down at her reflection. "I'm on the moon!" She shouted, laughing. The doctors cleaned and wrapped up the child, but Jay was clutching Drina, worried. "Love?" He asked. "Are you ok? Drina it's all over, please talk to me."
Charlotte woke the next morning and went to look for Stefan. She was going to search for Tide and she had to let him know where she was going. When she found the note, she cried out in dismay as her heart tore in half. "Stefan... Why would you abandon me?" She swallowed. "What did I ever do wrong?"
Sam grinned watching her "wouldn't be amazing if one could actually be on the moon?"Drina wasn't waking up, she was limp in his arms her burns newly opened from the exertion.
Stefan entered the palace and placed the Firestone into his wrist, therefore taking his place in the royal family again. He was broken the anger and Fire thrived and controlled him.
Arwyn smiled, nodded as she swung her legs to go higher. "Yes. That would be amazing. I would love to travel to the moon. It must be so magical up there with the stars...."Jay was growing more and more worried. "Doctor! Please help her, she's not responding!" He cried, "Drina, baby, stay with me." He whispered, kissing her forehead. "Please baby."
Charlotte cried for four hours straight, and when she was done, she felt more dried and shriveled than she ever had been. She wanted her son back, and she wanted to see Stefan again, even if he had broken it off with her. So she packed some food, boarded up the house, and sent away the maids. Then she started the long trek into the forest to see if she could find either of her boys.
Sam nodded "wonder what they really are? You know? Like are they just little fireflies stuck up there?"The doctors worked with her, trying to get her to respond. They poured a liquid into her mouth that was to wake her.
Sam woke up to the morning light and slowly got up to find something for them to eat. She set up small traps for animals and scavenged for berries.
Arwyn nodded thoughtfully. "I always thought they were little pinholes of light, and if you ever got close enough, you could see heaven through them."Jay stayed right by her side, his hand clutching hers. He kept begging her to be ok, to wake up. He couldn't raise three kids on his own, nor did he want to.
Tide woke up later than she did, and when he did, he panicked at first, not sure where he was, and then he relaxed, sighing happily. He was where he wanted to be. "Sam?" He called, getting up to look for her.
Sam listened and nodded "what do you think heaven's like?...do people go there when they die?"Drina started to wake up, she moaned her body throbbing in pain, everything seemed so blurry and far away.
Sam came in and nearly ran into him "good morning! I got some food!" She said cheerfully laying them on the table.
Arwyn smiled softly. "Heaven will be lovely. The most gorgeous thing we have ever seen... and yes, I think everyone has a chance of going there." Jay gasped in shock and relief when she started to wake up. "Drina! Drina, oh thank God! You're alive!" He kissed her cheek.
Tide laughed lightly. "That looks amazing! I'll get started on cooking it!" he said, skinning the rabbits to make into stew.
Charlotte had wandered for a week now, and had not found, nor heard of Tide. The weather where she was was uncomfortably warm, and she found herself longing more and more for water. When the trees cleared and she noticed a volcano in the distance, realization dawned on her. "Oh Stefan... I need your help." She whispered, and turned towards the volcano. Her feet were burnt and she was slowly baking, but she wouldn't give up. She had to find her family.
Sam nodded and smiled happily "my grand mum is there, I know it. I talk to her sometimes."Drina smiled weakly "the baby?...is it alright?" She whispered softly
Sam made a face, she wasn't a fan of this part. She set the table and ran a hand through her hair smiling over at him "I was thinking we try...we try to you know..do it tonight."
Stefan heard about the human going into the volcano and as royaliry had to check it out. He froze seeing Charlotte "you shouldn't be here."

Jay nodded, sighing in relief. "Thank you doctor." He breathed, his eyes closing finally as he drifted off to sleep.
Tide bit his lip. "My parents forbid me to see you Sam." He said softly. "So... so I ran away..." He swallowed. "Sam.... that mermaid you had.... she is my mother."
