McKensie and Lara II :)
Jude chuckled and nodded "you just love her...that's all she really needs, it's easier than you are making it...wait till she starts walking and talking!"Sam giggled and pecked his lips "you are so cute and sweet...I love you."
Jay laughed softly. "Uh oh, the terrible twos huh? I guess I'll deal with that when it comes." He said, smiling. Tide smiled brightly. "And I love you." He said, kissing her again. "Don't have too much fun at that school of yours without me." He said.
Jude chuckled "it's an adventure alright...Sam likes the cows and well...we haven't gotten milk for awhile that scoundrel." He shook his head still grinning.Sam sighed "it's so placid! They only teach how to be a good wife and home making...they don't let you read and going outside you have to bring a parasol to block the sun's rays!"
Jay laughed aloud then. "Sounds like you have a little thief on your hands." He said, shaking his head. "Well... I don't think ours is capable of that... yet..."Tide sighed softly. "And I ache for you being there. But soon you'll be done, and we can start a life of our own together ok? Escape our pasts."
Jude chuckled "yeah but when he calls me daddy...it's the greatest feeling ever. Just you wait Jay, you'll be wrapped around her little finger soon."Sam smiled and nodded "I'd love that so much...we could live away from here, find a place just so we can be ourselves."
Jay smiled. "I don't doubt it." He shook his head. "Hey, and thanks man, for taking a call so late. I was just panicking..." He said, chuckling. Tide nodded. "Exactly. It's what makes school without you worth it." he said. "The hope that that will be our future." he smiled, kissing her cheek. "But its only going to work if you get home before your Dad finds you missing and murders me...."
Jay shook his head "no trouble at all! I wasn't quite going to bed...Mary and I were going to stay up...a bit longer."Sam giggled and nodded she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply before pulling back "goodnight..."
Jay smirked. "Well go enjoy yourselves then." He said, smiling. ."I better go now anyways." He smiled softly as he hung up, feeling better about this parenting stuff.Tide kissed her back, sad that she had to go. "Goodnight Sam." He smiled, hugging her quickly before he backed up a bit and waved, turning to go back inside.
Drina shifted her hand holding onto his shirt, Arwyn started to cry from the phone hanging up was loud and woke her up.Stefan was getting ready to leave, he was grateful his son was back inside "I need you to write a letter for me."
Jay smiled down at Drina and gently took the baby from her arms, rocking the child slowly, hoping deeply that this would work. Tide looked up and nodded. "A letter?" He asked, interested. "To whom?"
Arwyn settled down immediately and took Jay's finger sucking on it and going right back to sleep. Perfectly content in her daddy's arms."Your mom, telling her where I'm going and that I love her and I'm sorry but I'll be home soon."

Jay smiled brightly, glad that he had been able to settle his daughter so well. "You are such a sweetie, aren't you?" He asked softly, watching her sleep. Tide nodded in agreement. "Yeah, for sure." he promised. "I'll send it out as soon as I can."
((Yeah, we are. We need to have Charlotte and Stefan amp it up (maybe charlotte doesn't come back right away, and someone finds out what she is? Then when she doesn't come back and doesn't respond to Stefan's letter, he thinks she left him? (but the unknown whoever it is could just have her) and for Jay and Drina, we need to play more on the fact that she's a witch. Maybe people start getting suspicious and asking all sorts of questions? And maybe the baby develops powers they're having a hard time controlling?))
Drina tried so hard to submerse her powers through the years, she tried to be that perfect wife Jay desired. Going to parties and socializing in this large city. But she couldn't hide who she was, things started happening without her controlling it. Tattoos and marks spread on her shoulder and back she was terrified.Stefan had sent the letter, he journeyed to the heart of the mountain in a dormant volcano where his people lived. The minute he was in sight of the community his sight restored instantly. He marched up to the glowing orange and ruby palace searching for the emperor. His father.
Jay had been working hard, trying to keep up a steady income with a toddler and a four year old in the house. He worked his hardest and did pretty well, but really just wanted to spend more time with Drina. He got home that evening and found her pacing their room and he leaned in the doorway. "Hey honey." he said gently. "Something wrong?"Charlotte had spent two nights in the hotel, working for a few days to cool off and give Stefan some space. She was on her way home when it happened. She needed a ride, and she made the mistake of hitching one with a stranger. When water was spilled, she couldn't do much to hide her tail, and in a couple of seconds, the carriage had turned around again, taking her in the opposite direction of home.
Drina looked up and stepped away, she was scared that she would hurt him being so unstable "Jay...please don't touch me...I've already broke every dish in the house, the maid quit and Julian was floating around the house!"Stefan walked up the long staircase "father, I demand that you give my sight back...I know that you are displeased with my life choices but disowning me as a son took away that right to be involved in my life. Or ruining it!"
Jay frowned a little, stepping closer again. "I knew stuff like this was going to happen when I married you Drina." He said gently, taking her hand in his. "I know you're a witch, and I know what comes with that."George turned in his seat and frowned. "I can not allow my line to fall to ruin Stefan, my son or not, you are ruining our reputation." He said seriously, standing. "You can not be wed to a water creature. It just isn't natural."
Drina shook as he touched her, she closed her eyes expecting the worst but nothing happened. She relaxed and sighed contentedly "I'm getting stronger...because Arwyn needs a teacher, I don't know how to hide this!"Stefan growled "my posterity happens to be a fire imp, though he does not know it. He repels the water even if he changes...my wife accepts me and has made many sacrifices!"
Jay gently pulled her into his arms, kissing her hair. "You don't need to hide it dear. We are out in the country. We'll just not see any one for a while, and no one will know." he promised, wanting to be accommodating for her. George frowned. "Do not mention the fish here. I do not approve of your marriage choices." He said, his voice low and angry. "If your offspring has retained our genes, then maybe I'll reconsider your disability, but this in no way excuses you breaking one of our oldest laws! We don't associate with water creatures!"
Drina swallowed and cried in his arms, so emotionally exhausted from fighting it all day and glad he was home "Arwyn is scared...She doesn't undsrstand, but I've got to take care of Juilian too! I need help Jay!"Stefan growled feeling his own fire pick up "we don't abandon our own either! But I didn't see you saving my life at the bloody circus! Or saving mother because she was a mere human!"
Jay gently carried her to the bed, holding her on his lap. "Then you can each Arwyn, and teach me, and I'll take care of Juilian during Arwyn's lessons." He said gently. "We'll get through this, I promise, but you aren't doing this alone. I just need to learn. His father spun, eyes flashing red. "Don't you dare speak to me of your mother!" He roared, fists clenched. "You know I couldn't interfere in human affairs. I am just as bound by the rules as you are, or I would have saved you. Why do you think they took your mother from me?" He shouted, turning away from Stefan, his hands gripping his hair. "I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did Stefan." He said finally, his voice significantly softer.
Drina swallowed and lay her head on his shoulder she felt herself calm down immensely as she always had when he was holding her. "I'm just scared Jay...I'm homesick, I don't know how to teach...no one taught me, but I can't stand Arwyn living the way I had..."Stefan swallowed looking down "I'm sorry sir...but im not, she loves me and I don't risk my family...Tide lives in the human we are content, I am useless now, I had a huge fight that almost ended my marriage...I need to see again."
Jay frowned a little, not liking that she was upset. He wanted to make her happy, and he hated to see her sad. "If there's anything I can do to make it better...." He said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "You just have to ask."George nodded slowly, not looking at Stefan again. "Then I give you your sight back." He said softly, waving his hand in dismissal. "Go before I change my mind." He sighed and his shoulders slumped a little.
Drina nodded, she moved her hair back revealing the blood red tattoos "I don't know what's going to happen...but don't forget I love you..." She said quietly, the visions she received in her dreams involved fire and Jay being frightened and calling her a demon...Stefan stepped forward slowly and hesitantly, he embraced his father tightly needing him to know how much he loved and admired him "I don't blame you for any of it pa..."
Jay was a little startled by the sight of the tattoos, as he had not been expecting that at all, but he nodded slowly, embracing her again. "I could never forget." He promised.George nodded, turning so he could hug his son back. "I love you." He said in return. "Now go on and get back to your woman. If she loves you as much as you say she does, she'll be waiting." He smiled
Charlotte was not waiting at home for Stefan. In fact she was far from it. She struggled wildly against the heavy cuffs that shackled her wrists and chained each arm to a separate wall in her tank. It was much prettier than the last, cleaner, with other tropical fish, but it was still a jail cell, and a display in an extravagant home. And the security around it was almost impossible to breach. Charlotte had given up hope of seeing her family again.
Drina hugged him tighter "if I go insane...or lose who I am...make sure I don't hurt anyone..." She whispered again her tattoos pulsing with energy and power far stronger than the nature energy she had conserved. Stefan smiled and handed him a gold typed invitation "my son's party...I'm sure he would be honored to meet his grand father." He wanted to start over his relationship with his father and fix it.
Jay nodded slowly, swallowing. He wanted to ask why those things might happen, but he just nodded, swallowing. " ok." He promised. "But I don't want that to ever happen." He said seriously. "I want you to be ok."George smiled a little, nodding as he pocketed the envelope. "I wouldn't miss it." He promised. "Got to meet the rest of my family I suppose." He squeezed Stefans shoulder and motioned towards the door. "Go on then."
Drina sighed and nodded "the full moon is coming up...at home we had to take precautions and the Elders created a spell...I can't do that here, I can protect Arwyn but I don't know what ill do."Sam walked into the house, she was shocked to see a huge tank in her father's office. Inside was a beautiful woman with a tail like a fish. She was scared at first then immensely sad that she was captured. She pressed her hands against the glass trying to see how she was chained.
Jay nodded in understanding, sighing softly. "I'll be here for you." He promised. "I'll make sure you and everyone else stays safe." He wasn't about to leave her alone in this.Charlotte looked up when a girl walked in and stared at her. She turned her face away, hating being looked at like this when she had nowhere to go.
Sams father walked in then and smiled at his daughter." Dear," he said, "time to wash up for dinner. It's best not to hang around the she-devil, I've heard they can be violent."
Drina hugged him tightly and kissed him tenderly "I don't deserve such an amazing man like you...thank you for taking care of me..." She looked up when she saw Arwyn "honey what are you doing up? It's past your bedtime!"Sam frowned and looked at her father "why did you capture her? She looks so sad..." She asked softly following him into the large dining room where the servants were bustling around serving the food on silver platters.
Jay looked over as Arwyn slowly walked in. "I can't stop glowing Mamma." She said softly, holding out her hand which was glowing like the end of a firefly. Her father smiled and squeezed her hand. "I didn't capture her darling." He said honestly. "I bought her off a zoo." He explained. "She'll be much happier in the nice big clean tank we have for her than in the dirty one at the zoo." He promised. "I rescued her from there, and now she'll make a great addition to our home!" He sat down at the table with her.
Drina slowly took her hand and collected the excess energy. She closed her fingers and sighed "that should stop it love...you need to get some sleep."Sam picked at her food not very hungry, she still thought it was wrong for her to be captured at all. "What if she has a family?..." She asked quietly.
Arwyn nodded slowly, hugging her mother. "Goodnight Mom." She ran over to hug Jay. "Night Dad." then she smiled and pranced out of the room again and back to her bed. Her father shook his head. "Merfolk dont have family darling. They leave their eggs before they even hatch." he said gently. "Besides, this one was raised alone in a zoo." He promised.
Tide ran to greet his father when he returned home. "Dad!" He cried, hugging him. "I'm so glad you're back. It's been so lonely here.... Mom hasn't come back yet, or even written."
Drina smiled softly and sat back on the bed, she snuggled up with Jay "I just need you tonight...clear my mind like you always have."Sam sighed "than why does she still seem so sad?" It didn't seem right at all "why can't you let her go and have her experience the ocean?"
Stefan hugged him right and frowned "it's been a week..." He said worriedly and went to the post box to find it empty. She hadn't even replied to his message...did she hate him that much?
Jay smiled softly, accepting the challenge. "I think I can manage that." He smiled and pulled her into his arms, kissing her gently. He shook his head. "The same reason you can't let any other animal that has been raised in captivity back into the wild. They wouldn't know how to survive. Trust me on this Samantha, even if she doesn't like it much, the best place for her is in that tank, ok?" He said sternly.
Tide nodded slowly. "Yes. and I've been alone all week." he said, sighing. "Where do you think she is?" It wasn't even in his mind that his mother would just leave.
Drina smiled and kissed down his neck and ran her fingers through his long hair "I know you can..you make me feel things even magic can't explain!"Sam frowned at the use of her full name "Sam." She corrected quietly not arguing about the mermaid anymore. Something told her though that her father was wrong, she had to get her out of there...but how?
Stefan sighed "I don't know Tide...I'm sorry that you were alone. You missed a week of school as well..."
Jay laughed softly. "I'm glad you enjoy it so much." He said gently, his hands wandering over her back as he kissed her. Her father nodded. "Go on then, get started on your homework." He returned to his office and made sure the security systems were on and his door was securely locked before he went to work again.
Tide nodded, looking at his hands. "Its ok." He promised. "But I don't want to just leave Mom out there Dad. We have to go look for her."
In the middle of their love making Drina lost control, her eyes glowed pure white and the room shook as light came from her hands and tattoos. She was scared to hurt him so she immediately pulled away. Tucking herself in the closet.Sam watched him lock the office and sighed, this would not be so easy...She got out her stitchery that she was supposed to make for her first home...She purposefully made it look like a tangled knot mess.
Stefan sighed "Tide your mother probably left me...She doesn't want to deal with me anymore...lets plan for your party."
Jay was blinded for a second, and then he looked around, confused. "Drina?" He had not seen her leave, but that might have been because the light was so bright for a second that he couldn't see anything. Pulling on clothes, he stood to go looking for her. ((what if they find Charlotte before Sam can free her, and then Stefan and Charlotte are very against Tide and Sam's relationship? Might add some more long term drama))
Charlotte spent her day in the same cramped position, the shackles not allowing her to move anything but her tail, and that didn't do much for her. She was starting to feel very alone and afraid when no one seemed to care that she was locked up again.
Tide frowned. "Mom is missing and all you can think about are parties?" He asked, hurt and angry. "I am not having my birthday without my family! You can't give up on Mom! If she left you... fine. But I have to hear it from her first before I'm going to give up. Right now we have no idea what happened to her!"
Drina was trying to calm herself down, she converted her excess energy into a sparking ball of blue light that floated around the room. She was exhausted and braided her wild hair out of her face.((Aww you stole my plan again!))
Stefan sighed "of course I'm not giving up on your mother! I just need to keep busy so that I can think Tide! She's not at the hotel I stopped by there before I came home..."
((lol. I guess we really think a lot alike. XD))Jay eventually followed the soft sounds of moving around and breathing to the closet she was in and he rapped on the door. "Drina? You going to come out?" he asked gently.
Tide swallowed and looked down, not meaning to make his father stressed or angry. "Sorry sir." He mumbled, closing his eyes. "I just... I... I miss Mom." He whispered, sighing.
Drina sighed and opened the door a crack to look at him with sorrowful eyes "I'm sorry...I warned you..." She whispered as the energy released itself from its confinement and danced around the room.Stefan nodded and closed his e y especially trying to think "let's check the zoos...if she got wet they would snatch her up quickly."
Jay smiled gently and scooped her into his arms. "No harm done Drina." He looked over at the ball of light. "I think it's rather pretty, dont you?" He asked, trying to make light of the situation. Tide nodded, determined to find his mother. He had never been in a zoo, but the thought of Charlotte being in one made him feel sick. "Let's go then!" He said eagerly, grabbing a coat and heading to the carriage.
Drina smiled a little and nodded "I suppose...I just don't know what to do with it..." She kissed him and held him close "we didn't get to finish..."Stefan followed him and took a satchel of money so that he could convince them to let her go.
Jay smiled, kissing her gently. "We can put it in a jar and use it as a nightlight." He kissed down her jaw slowly and lifted her up, carrying her to bed. The first zoo they visited had never even heard of merpeople, so they moved on to the next. This one said they had cotton one recently, and sold it to a family. Tide swallowed nervously when he heard the address. "Sam..." He mumbled softly.
Drina smiled and nodded "it will be a pretty light...let's continue where we left off my love..."Stefan frowned "you know the address Tide?..." He paused hearing the name "your Sam?! Tide! Did you let her know what we are?!"

Tide laughed nervously. "Well I don't think I would like that so much then..." He said honestly, shaking his head. "I think I'd like to live longer. So we can talk about it after graduation then."
