McKensie and Lara II :)
Drina gasped as the baby emerged, she laughed weakly laughing against the pillow "is it alright?...what is the sex?"Stefan shook his head and brushed her aside "just find someone that can provide for you and Tide. Leave me alone!"
The doctor smiled and rubbed the baby clean, handing her the blanket wrapped bundle. "Congratulations, you have a daughter." She said, smiling. "You can call in your husband now, if you'd like."Charlotte frowned, actually growing frustrated. "Leave you alone!? Stefan! After all the work I've done for you you'd say something like that to me?" She couldn't believe he was trying to push her away. "Of all the... Oh! I've tried so hard to take care of you and now you say that!"
Drina smiled lovingly at the sweet dark haired Angel and nodded cuddling her close "is there anything to stop the pain?..."Stefan growled "yes you! All you've done for me! Because i can't do it for myself you should have just let me die!"
The doctor nodded. "Working on it." She promised, as she finished stitching her up. She handed her a small pill and a glass of water. "This should help."Charlotte clenched her fists and threw them in the air. "Agk! Why do I bother!? Of all the most ungrateful...." She shook her head, muttering to herself. "Well since you obviously want to be left alone, I don't see any reason for me being here." She snapped, storming from the room. The front door slammed as she left in the carriage that had taken her here. She cried all the way to her work again, finishing the shift Stefan had called in for without any supper.
Drina whimpered and took the pill "can you go get Jay?...but tell him that everything went perfect please?"Stefan shook his head and packed all of his stuff, if she wouldn't leave he would. It was for the best he was no good for anyone.
The doctor nodded, going out to a very distressed Jay. His pale face was enough of a question. The doctor smiled, "come meet your daughter." She said gently, and jay immediately ran in. "Drina! Are you ok?"Charlotte finished her shift that night, and instead of coming home to rest she decided to give Stefan some space, so she rented a hotel room and cried herself to sleep.
Drina smiled and motioned him over "come meet your little girl." She sighed and pecked his cheek "I need to rest..."Sam was waiting in the garden for Tide, she couldn't wait to give him his birthday gift. But her parents forbid her to see any boys.
Jay smiled down at the baby, gently lifting her into his arms. "Oh she's so precious." He whispered, smiling. "Rest darling, you did fantastic." He kissed Drina gently and sat in a chair nearby, rocking their sweet little girl. Tide had snuck out as soon as he could and he grinned when he saw Sam. "Hey." He said softly, smiling. "I missed you already."
Drina smiled and watched him with their girl "what should we name her?..."Sam hugged him close and laughed "you just saw me last week...how is it being home for holiday?"
Jay thought about that for a moment. "Something common in your culture, to honor it." He offered. "That is her heritage after all..."Tide hugged her back and shook his head. "It's always too long, you know that. But it has been nice to see my family, even if they don't spend too much time with me, what with Mom working and all."
Drina smiled she was very pleased that they agreed on that she stroke the tiny little clenched fist with her forefinger "Arwyn...but she should have an American middle name that she could go by at school and such."Sam pulled him down on the stone bench with her and held his hand "I can't imagine...and your father?"
Jay smiled brightly. "That's a beautiful name! How about Arwen Jane?" He asked softly, looking down at the sleeping baby girl.Tide sighed softly and looked down. "Dad just packed up." He whispered, trying to hide the pain. "I think... I think I'm on my own...." He whispered.
Drina nodded "beautiful..." She winced laying back and taking a deep breath "I don't know how woman do this over and over..."Sam hugged him tightly and nuzzled him "you've always got me...I bet your mom will come home..."
Jay nodded, running his thumb over his daughters hand. "You did amazingly." He complimented, squeezing her hand. "Are you ok?" He asked gently.Tide sighed softly and forced a smile, hugging her. "And I'm glad you're here, but I doubt mom will stick around with Dad gone. She wouldn't manage." He sighed. "My parents love each other, or did anyways, and I'm just caught in the middle of this fight."
Drina nodded "just sore..." She didn't want to go into details to worry him "are you alright?...."Sam sighed and nodded ""my parents fight too but, they always manage to make it work out...I'm sure yours will too, has your dad left or still packing? You should talk to him..."
Jay nodded slowly. "I'm glad you're ok. I almost passed out when you started screaming." He said honestly, sighing. He had not been doing very well.Tide nodded. "I don't know. I think I'll go check if that's ok. I'll be right back." He promised, and went to check. "Dad? You still in here?" He called.
Drina pat the bed "come here..." She whispered and snuggled close "you are the best husband in the world...I love how much you care..."Stefan was staring at the wall next to the trunk suitcase "I'm here son..." he whispered obviously distraught about the situation.
Jay sat beside her, smiling gently at here. "And I love that you give me something to care about." He said, kissing her cheek. "Now we have a family together." He smiled proudly. Tide ran in and stood in the doorway. "Please don't go Dad..." He begged. "Please don't leave me here by myself. It's almost my birthday..." He closed his eyes, the tears running down his cheeks. He couldn't bear the thought of being alone.
Drina nodded and smiled kissing her baby's forehead "she's perfect...and we have 5 puppies to care for!"Stefan blinked and held Tide close "I'm not Tide...I would never leave, I was going to find my father to reverse my blindness...I'm no good for your mother or you like this...She works too hard..."
Jay laughed softly. "We do, don't we?" he asked, smiling. "They'll all definitely bring life to this old creaky house." He joked, smiling. Tide was sobbing, overwhelmed with emotion and relief, and just overwhelmed in general. "I thought you were going to leave... I heard you and Mom yelling..." he said, curling up on his father's lap.
Drina laughed lightly and tucked into his chest "things certainly won't be dull from here on out!"Stefan held him close "I love your mother...it's just hard since she's always gone and I can't ease that burden...I make it worse, so I'm going to try and fix it."
Jay grinned, running his fingers through her hair gently. "Was it ever really? I feel like it's been one adventure to the next with us..." He shook his head. Tide nodded, drying his eyes. "Ok. But please come back when you're done ok? I don't care if you're blind or not, but I couldn't live without you both." He said softly.
Drina smiled "that's the way I like it...but I think parenting is going to be our biggest ever."Stefan pecked his head"ill be back before your birthday...I promise."
Jay nodded, chuckling softly. "Most definitely." He agreed. "Think we'll survive this one?" He joked, laughing.Tide nodded slowly. "Stay safe." He said, hugging him again.
Drina laughed lightly and nudged him "you haven't done any of the hard work yet love!"Stefan nodded "I will, you better get your face cleaned up before going back out to see that girl." He raised a brow knowingly with a smirk.
Jay smiled softly. "No, I haven't." He agreed, kissing her cheek. "But I will, don't you worry." he hugged her, content to just sit with their new child, who took that moment to wake and start crying. "What's wrong?" he asked, worried, not knowing much about babies at all.Tide blushed a little, not having known that his father knew. "Yeah... thanks Dad." he smiled brightly and ran to the bathroom to get cleaned up, waving at his father before going back out to Sam.
Drina sighed and tugged her nightgown down trying to get her to feed "she's either hungry or needing a nappy change...or just uptight."Sam was waiting patiently in the tree, she got bored on the bench so she climbed the tree.
Jay nodded, trying to commit each option to memory so he would know next time. "I'm not a very good father am I? If I dont even know what my child needs..." he sighed. Tide looked around the yard until he found her, and then he smiled brightly. "Whatcha doing way up there?" He asked, tilting his head back to look up at her.
Drina pecked his cheek "you've been a father less than a day, you'll learn...girls have the natural instinct to be mothers."Sam hopped down into his arms and laughed "nice catch, I got bored waiting for you and it was such a nice tree!"
Jay nodded slowly, feeling a little better. "I'll just have to learn quick then I suppose." He mused. "So that I can help both of you in any way I can."Tide laughed easily, shaking his head. "You really are something." He said, kissing her forehead. "It's a wonder I didn't fall in love sooner."
Drina caressed his cheek "you are doing just fine...just know that I love you and your daughter loves you more than anything...don't stress."Sam flushed and pecked his cheek "I didn't think you even noticed me..."
Jay nodded, putting his arm around her shoulders. "And I love you both so much." He said softly. "I'll have to go to work here soon, to start earning an income again."Tide laughed lightly. "How could I not? Every guy thinks you're a wonder." he said, shrugging easily. "What with how you play sports, and your name and all."
Drina nodded "I'll work on some more paintings while taking care of Arwyn...we can both help. It won't be much thabkfukly..."Sam flushed "the guys that I have met before you prefer the feminine and quiet girls...not another guy as I've been called before. My parents disapprove you are the only one that has praised me on being myself."
Jay nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a good idea." he agreed. He sighed softly. "I hope it's not too much for you. Taking care of a child will be a lot of work in itself."Tide smiled a little, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I'm not like other guys." He said softly. "And I think you are amazing."
Drina smiled "I've got Margeret to help...and Mary, since they are the godparents. Jude was going to teach you the basic needs for a father."Sam flushed and leaned in closer for their first kiss.
Jay nodded. "I need a lot of help." he agreed. "I'm going to have to call up Jude sooner or later." he laughed softly. "I'm going to need all the help I can get."Tide leaned the rest of the way, cupping her cheek as he pressed his lips against hers.
Drina smiled and put the baby in the bassinet next to the bed and snuggled to him "I need to sleep..."Sam kissed him tenderly running her hand through his long hair "this is part of your birthday gift..." She whispered with a smile.
Jay nodded, wrapping his arms around her. "Rest darling." He whispered, "You need it. It's been a long day."Tide smiled, flushing. "If this is just part... then I can't wait to see the rest." He whispered, kissing her again. "I do think I am in love..."
Drina was already dozing off, her body relaxed and breathing deeply. Sam smiled and flushed nodding "I think this is love..." She dug in her leather purse for a silver wrapped gift "happy birthday!" Inside was a pair of cufflinks that she had carefully made.
Jay held her as she slept, reaching over for the telephone on the bed stand. He picked it up and dialed Jude. "Hey man... you have time to talk?" He asked softly. Tide grinned at the sight of the gift. "You didn't have to!" He exclaimed, taking it gingerly as he unwrapped it very carefully. When he saw her gift he grinned and hugged her. "You're too thoughtful."
Jude smiled "why the whispering? Trying to not wake up the baby?..."Sam smiled and held him close "I thought you could wear it at the dance at the end of the year with our schools."
Jay nodded, smiling. "Yeah, and my wife." he agreed. "I need help. Major help. I have no idea how to be a father!"Tide smiled brightly, pecking her lips. He found he was unable to not want more. "That sounds like a great idea." He bowed slowly and kissed her hand. "Would you do me the honor of coming to the dance with me?"
Jude laughed "the baby didn't come with an instruction guide?" He teased and shook his head "Jay this is completely normal..."Sam grinned and nodded jumping in his arms "yes, of course!"
Jay sighed in exasperation, "no there's no instructions and I don't know what to do!!" He sighed softly. "Any tips?"Tide hugged her tightly, spinning her around. "Then it's a plan, and the dance can't come soon enough." He said, smiling brightly
Jude chuckled "breathe for one, this is a child not a bomb! You will start to get an idea of what she likes and doesn't like, parenting is a trial and error job. I still am messing up, but as long as your kid is happy you've done your job as a dad."Sam nodded in agreement and kissed him again "when will I see you again?"
Jay nodded and took his advice, forcing himself to slowly breathe. Then he nodded. "So you've got nothing for me but just don't screw up?" He asked, chuckling.Tide smiled gently, squeezing her hand. "Next weekend?" He asked hopefully.
Jude chuckled "what do you want to know? I have a son not a daughter! But whatever I can help with I will, you know that!"Sam nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder "it seems like so far away..."
Jay smiled softly. "Well babies can't be that much different, can they? What do you do when they're crying? How do you keep them happy?" He asked. Tide nodded, sighing softly. "It does. But before you know it we can see eachother again, I promise. And when we get older we could live together..." He blushed lightly.
Jude smiled "if they are crying Drina will know why, mother's can distinguish each cry. If they are hungry Drina will feed them, if they need a nappy change the ma I d can do that. If they reach out for you that means they just want to be held and cuddled."Sam flushed and nodded "I would love that...after we graduate we can talk about that. My father would kill you if he heard about that now."

((^-^ Now lets see how far we can take this.))
Charlotte threw her hands in the air. "Stefan!" She cried, feeling that she didn't deserve his anger. She followed him, knowing insinctually that she should probably stay away, but she couldn't, not without getting the last word in. "I'm trying to help you! Why do you have to be so stubborn!?"
