McKensie and Lara II :)
Drina looked at the dogs with huge eyes "I've never seen a dog that bug! It's more horse then dog." She put Baron down and scratched behind Freddie's ears "beautiful dogs though...I bet they are keen hunters."Rates nodded reaching over the table to touch her hand "tomorrow, it is quite a journey from here...and you need to eat and rest."
Freddie tipped his head towards her and his hind leg started twitching circles rapidly. Jay sat up and laughed. "Yes. They are big dogs, and amazing hunters. They can easily keep up with the horses, which makes them great for horse back hunting."Charlotte nodded in agreement, finishing swallowing down her meal. After washing the dishes and putting them away, she tucked Tide into bed and then escorted her mother to the guest room, making sure she was comfortable there before finally returning to her and Stefan's room, slumping on the bed in exhaustion.
Drina giggled and scratched down his back, she nuzzled his large head and pecked his muzzle. She pulled Jay up and brushed off his back "I love them! So you enjoy hunting?"Stefan watched her with a bemused look on his face, he pulled her into his embrace and held her close stroking her hair "you've had a busy day...pretty amazing that you will meet your father.
Jay smiled, kissing her cheek. "Well... I had to occupy myself with something..." He said, shrugging. "Georgia," He stroked the dog's head. "Looks like she's close to another litter..." He said. "Freddie, Mr. You were busy while I was gone, weren't you?" he said, scratching behind both dog's ears.Charlotte nodded, leaning into him, relaxing. "Yes. I'm nervous." She said honestly, chewing at her lip. "I've never even thought I would be able to meet him...."
Drina smiled and pet Georgia "looks like we're both expecting..." She mused and rubbed the dogs belly "good thing you have a good mate as well!"Stefan smiled "it'll be exciting! Seeing your land parent."
Georgia whimpered happily, wagging her tail. Jay laughed and shook his head. "We should put them away again and go meet the servants." He suggested.Charlotte chewed her lip. "What if he doesnt like me? What if he didnt want a kid? What if he doesnt even remember he had one?"
Drina frowned "let's not lock them up...wouldn't they be fine roaming around? I bet they're tired of the kennel..." Stefan took her shoulders "baby you are unraveling...breathe. If your mother wants you to meet him then I'm sure he knows he has a daughter and wants to meet you.
Jay smiled a little. "They were never allowed in the house, so they might make a mess, but I'm always up for trying something new." He said, opening the door of the kennel and watched in amusement as all twelve of his dogs leaped out, barking. Charlotte nodded, taking two deep breaths. "Ok. Yeah. I'm sure you're right. I'm sure he want's to meet me. I'm sure he will like me." She tried to convince herself.
Drina laughed in surprise at all 12 of the dogs. "My goodness!" She gave each of them her attention cooing at them as if they were children. She still kept Baron in her arms he was such a cutie!Stefan kissed her softly "breathe...this is a good thing, all is well in the world...we just need to keep things in control." he nuzzled her "I wish I could come with..."
Jay chuckled, following her out then, making sure none of the dogs ran off before he lead her inside again. "They're cute, aren't they?" He asked, opening the doors for her. Charlotte nodded, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I think it would be better to introduce you after me, but I wish you could come too." She sighed. "I'll need the moral support..."
Drina nodded and sat down at the closest chair feeling tired, she saw the worried look on his face and waved it aside "just getting my breath back..." She put Baron down and smiled "what is next on the tour?"Stefan nodded and kissed her cheek "it's alright..." He played with her locket "I'm always with you" he reminded "I always will be..."
Jay waiting for her as she rested. "Take all the time you need." He insisted. "I was thinking that I could take you to the drawing room. It could be your new art room." He promised. Charlotte nodded, kissing his cheek. "For tonight, just hold me, ok?" She asked. "I need you here right now."
Drina stood holding onto him for support "lead the way..." She felt excited about the new house and new life, but she missed the caravan and her family. It would be hard to adjust to the wife of a rich man.Stefan nodded and held her close "I got you..." He promised and stroke her waist and hip.
Jay nodded, supporting her as he walked slowly down the hallway to the large room he had described. "Here we are." he said, smiling. "It's all yours."Charlotte snuggled into his embrace and sighed softly, the tension leaving her shoulders. "Thank you." She said, kissing his sternum.
Drina gasped at the beauty, it was her paradise. The window held a perfect view and so much light streamed through the windows. She hugged him tightly and wiped away the stray tears "Jay...it's perfect!"Stefan nodded and kissed her hair softly "I love you...you know that right?"
Jay smiled, loving the joy he saw in her features. "Im glad you like it." He said softly, watching her explore the room. "I was hoping you would."Charlotte nodded, smiling a little, her eyes closed. "Its what helps me get through each day. " she whispered. "Because I love you to the moon and back."
Drina ran her hand down the soft wood of the easel "what should I paint?..." She asked softly and smiled at him "I want to make this for you."Stefan smiled "sleep angel...you have an early start in the morning."

Jay smiled, flushing a little, touched by her offer. "Dont ask me...'" he stammered. "Im a little lacking in creativity."Charlotte nodded, closing her eyes. "Gnight..." she mumbled, drifting off.
Drina took his hands "close your eyes...and tell me what you see..." She whispered meaningfully and kissed his forehead.Stefan couldn't sleep, he hadn't been feeling well since he arrived on land but he wasn't one to complain.
McKensie wrote: "Drina took his hands "close your eyes...and tell me what you see..." She whispered meaningfully and kissed his forehead.Stefan couldn't sleep, he hadn't been feeling well since he arrived on land..."
Jay closed his eyes slowly and took a deep breath. "I see.... the forests out back... and the brook that runs through them..." he said softly, trying to think.Charlotte slept well that night, but not very deeply. When she woke, she sat up immediately, chewing on her lip in nervousness. "Today's the day...." she whispered.
Drina smiled seeing the image through the window "I can accomplish that..." She said softly and kissed him lovingly leaning her forehead against his.Stefan was already up, he had her dress set up and was coming in with her breakfast tray "good morning."
Jay grinned eagerly, kissing her nose. "Well that would look lovely in the dining room over the fireplace if you can paint it for me." He said, looking over at the canvas on the easel. Charlotte smiled softly, pulling him over and kissing him. "Stefan! You didn't have to do all this!" She said, looking at the tray of food he had. It looked absolutely delicious. "How long have you been up?"
Drina nodded and opened the new beautiful wooden box full of art supplies "this is...how, I never used anything so nice...Ill try to capture it perfectly."Stefan kissed her lovingly "eat up, I'm going to go get Tide ready alright?"
Jay smiled, kissing her cheek. "I'll have lunch made." He offered. "And you can eat when you break." he sat down on a sofa nearby. "Do you mind if I watch?"Charlotte nodded, smiling. "Thank you, so much." She said, starting on the toast, before drinking some of the tea.
Drina smiled back at him "go ahead..." she started to sketch out the lines of the brook and the trees. She closed her eyes not even looking out the window she was using her memory of the trees of her home.Stefan went to wakeup Tide "hey buddy...time to get up..."
Jay sat back and watched in fascination as she sketched the outline of the forest. It seemed to spring up on the page with a mind of its own, and she had not even touched the paint yet. Tide yawned and stretched, smiling sleepily up at his father. "Can't we sleep in today?" he asked hopefully.
Drina smiled and dipped her paint in the green and mixed it with brown creating the sturdy trunk. She dropped the brush and swiped her finger in the blue to start the bubbling brook.Stefan nuzzled him "ok buddy...you can go back to sleep."
Jay watched, mesmerized by the splashes of color she added to the page. "How even..." He murmured, entranced. "You definitely have a gift."Tide smiled, closing his eyes again. "Thanks Daddy."
Charlotte had gotten dressed and walked in then, smiling at Stefan. "Did you already have breakfast? Or do you want me to make you some?"
Drina couldn't even hear him, she was so focused on mixing the blues and creating the flow and life of the small brook. She made a deer dipping its head to partake of the water and birds in the tree.Stefan shook his head "honey I'm fine, go get dressed and ill get the carriage ready for you and your mother."
Jay shook his head in amazement, wondering how on earth he had been so lucky to come across a woman like this. She was beautiful, smart, and talented, more than he could ask for. Charlotte nodded slowly, not sure that he really was fine, but she wasn't going to argue. "See you in a minute." She said, kissing his cheek and going to get ready.
Drina finished and sighed happily turning to look at him "what do you think?..." she bit her lip worried that she didn't capture it right.Stefan got the carriage ready and smiled seeing Rayna "morning ma'am."
Jay grinned. "It's the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen." He said, hugging her from behind and kissing her cheek. "Besides for you, of course."Charlotte made sure she looked her best, before going outside, smiling nervously at Stefan and her mother. "I'll be in the carriage." She said, climbing inside. She folded and unfolded her hands in nervousness.
Drina flushed and kissed him "it needs to dry, but...I think it turned out ok...I've never been able to truly express myself...thank you." Stefan sighed feeling sick and dizzy. He kissed her lovingly "have a good trip my darling..."
Jay grinned, kissing her gently. "Yes. It turned out amazing." He promised, looking at it. "And we can hang it up as soon as it dries. I'm glad I helped you express yourself."Charlotte smiled, not seeing how he felt. He still looked ok. "Thank you. I'll see you again in a couple hours." She said, waving as they drove off.
Drina cupped his face getting paint on his cheek and kissed him deeply "lunch would be great..." Stefan watched her going through the gates and waved, he tried to head to the house and collapsed on the stone steps out cold.
Jay grinned, rubbing his thumb at the wet spot on his cheek. "Matilda?" He called. A shorter wider maid bustled in, smiling. "Yes Master Jay?"
"Lunch?" Jay inquired.
"In the dining room sir."
Charlotte was too far down the road to see Stefan collapse, so she was just nervously bouncing in her seat. "Dad's house isn't far, right?" She asked her mother.
Drina smiled at the motherly maid "thank you, it's very nice to meet you Matilda. If there is anything I can do to help..."Rayna smiled "it's a bit of a journey, he lives more in the country. Please do not worry about him, he will adore you...he was immediately in love when you were born..."
Matilda bowed. "Oh that is not necessary miss. I'm here to serve." She smiled and lead them out. "Come then, wouldn't want the food to get cold." She ushered them to the dining room. Charlotte nodded, feeling a little bit better because of her words. "Thank you. That makes me feel much better." She said honestly.
Drina took a deep breath and leaned on him "Jay...where is the chamber pot? I am feeling sick again..."A maid was taking Tide outside for his morning walk, she saw Stefan on the steps and gasped "sir?..."
Jay nodded, straightening and guiding her gently to the washroom. "Here." He said gently, supporting her. After another hour's ride, Charlotte and her mother arrived at her father's place and Charlotte stepped out, nervous. "Should I knock? Or you? Or..."
Drina leaned over and vomited, she coughed and shook gripping his hand "lunch will have to wait..." Rayna smiled and knocked, it was a large stone palace and they were standing at the threshold of the door. A distinguished butler led them in "I will let the master know."
Jay nodded, holding her hair back. He gently rubbed her back, supporting her. "That's ok. Would you like anything for your stomach? A drink? Or a hot water bottle or something?"Charlotte walked in and looked around in awe, her jaw practically falling open. The house was absolutely huge. The size of a massive palace.
Drina sighed "a hot water bottle would be wonderful...I think I'd like to lie down my lower back is killing me..."Rayna ran to him when he walked down the stairs and hugged him "it's been far too long..."
Jay nodded, seeing Matilda standing shyly in the doorway. "Water bottle please?" he asked, and she nodded, scurrying off."Hold on." He said, scooping her into his arms, carrying her to their bed.
Jason smiled, embracing Rayna warmly. "Yes it has." he whispered, kissing her hair. "How have you been darling?"
Charlotte stood there staring at her father. He was so... real. Not just something she had dreamed up.
Drina held him around his neck and sighed "I wish that I was stronger, I've seen mothers work until she's in labor never resting..."Rayna smiled and motioned to Charlotte "this is our little girl...our princess..."
Jay shook his head. "Nonsense. You are the strongest girl alive." He said seriously, tucking her in as Matilda came in with the water bottle. Jason looked up, his eyes wide. "But she's... all grown up!"
Charlotte blushed softly and nodded, looking at the ground.
Jason walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders. "My time does fly." He hugged her gently, "My baby girl... all grown up."
Charlotte hugged him back tightly then, overjoyed.

Charlotte nodded, smiling her thanks. Then she bit her lip. "Except my father... whom I still have to meet...."
