Drina cupped his face and kissed him softly nodding "we are..." She nudged her nose against his "Jay I'm so happy..."The nurse smiled watching the couple "she will need to lie in for the duration of the next months. No heavy lifting or exertion, rest is what will be best."
Rayna rose from her chair and swam to her and put her hands on her shoulders "I was afraid I'd never get to meet you..."
Jay smiled, nodding. "Alright. Thank you doctor." He said, running his fingers through Drina's hair. "We're having a family..." he whispered, thrilled. "A real family."Charlotte smiled, brightening and looked up shyly. "Thank... thank you... your highness." she managed, remembering her manners.
The doctor and nurse left and Drina kissed him softly "a real family..." she was nervous about it though, her mother had died in birth and many other women.Rayna kissed her forehead "mother, darling. Charlotte, I've been hearing things about you and a land man."
Jay hugged her gently, holding her in his arms. "Baby... you're tense. Are you ok?" he asked gently, worried because she felt worried, not relaxed. Knowing merpeople's hatred for land people, Charlotte nodded nervously, swallowing. "Yes, I love him." She said honestly.
Drina sighed and nodded kissing his cheek "I'm fine...just worried about the delivery but it's alright" she hated to worry him. Rayna sighed and nodded "is he good to you?...I will drown him if he hurts you..."
Jay nodded, closing his eyes. "It will be fine. I promise." He said seriously. "I will get the best doctors for you. Make it as smooth as possible." He had the money for it, and he wanted to keep her safe. Charlotte nodded, smiling. "He is good to me." She promised. "He loves me. And I him." She promised. "We are living on land together now."
Drina shook her head "a midwife...it's the way nature meant it, doctors just have new tools and procedures that are risky...I only let the nurse touch me Jay..."Rayna sighed and moved her hair behind her ear "I don't want you to forget who you are Charlotte...land is not where my daughter is born from."
Jay nodded, sighing in resignation. "If that's what you think is best, then that is what we will do." He promised, kissing her hair. "I love you baby."Charlotte nodded, biting her lip. "But land is where my family is, and my hear belongs to them." She said, honest. "I have not forgotten the waves."
Drina cupped his face and kissed him lovingly "I love you, I couldn't be more happy to be the vessel for your child..." she snuggled into his arms pressing her hand to his heart.Rayna hugged her and sighed "Jason told me to keep you here...but I see now that was the worse decision I have made..."
Jay smiled, holding her in his arms gently. "And I couldn't be more happy to have you carrying our child." he stroked her hair gently. "But you heard the doctor. You need to rest." he advised, seriously. Charlotte stiffened a little. "You gave me a tail that night?" She asked, a little shocked. "Mother... you almost killed me." She bit her lip. "And then Jason... he... he..." She shook her head, tears filling her eyes.
Drina sighed "I want to see the house and meet the dogs...I cannot lie in this bed all day. I won't." She gave him a look.Rayna sighed "I understand, I didn't know. I was trying to do what's best...I wish I could take it back! He promised I would meet you if I did what he asked."
Jay shook his head. "I'm afraid I have to be firm on this Drina. You need to rest." he said seriously. "I'll bring the dogs to you. How does that sound?" He offered. Charlotte hugged her tight, nodded. "The worm wont bother us any more." She said softly. "But my mate would like to meet you."
Drina sighed and nodded "that's fine...but please don't expect me to lay here for 9 months...I will go hysterical, and it will not be a pretty look."Rayna nodded "I will go on land with you to meet your family, I fell in love with a human as well...your father in fact."
Jay nodded. "I know. I don't. You need to excersize to keep healthy as well. But I do expect you to rest for a good amount of time."Charlotte's eyes widened. "Really?" She asked, not knowing that. "So I am part of the land as well! That's why Tide likes it so much... he's more land creature than water!"
Drina pecked his cheek "that's fair...but I want to meet your friends and go to parties...I can still be cautious..."Rayna nodded "yes...you weren't hatched in the water. I gave birth to you naturally on land and took you back to the sea with me..."
Jay raised an eyebrow, contemplating it. "Promise you wont push yourself?" He asked, worried. "I don't want to take any risks..."Charlotte smiled brightly, hugging her. "Oh, I have to tell Stefan! He's my mate, and he'll be thrilled." She said, grinning.
Drina nodded "I won't, ill listen to my body and take it slow. When I am closer to the due date I will stay in the house...and. e on bed rest alright?"Rayna smiled and nodded "we shall go together, up to the land...i want you to meet your father."
Jay nodded, satisfied with those terms. "Alright." He agreed, squeezing her hand gently. "You know I'm just worried cause I love you, right?"Charlotte smiled eagerly, nodding. "That sounds like a wonderful idea." She agreed, laughing and swimming up towards the shore.
Drina nodded "I love you more...now help me up so I can see our home...and find the perfect room for the nursery."Rayna followed her but when she stepped out of the water a glittering gown appeared and she walked confidently.
Jay smiled, gently supporting her as he helped her stand up slowly. "You ok?" he asked, watching her for any signs of pain. "Still sick? Or are you doing better?"Charlotte gasped in wonder and awe, loving her mother, and amazed at how beautiful she was. She had obviously been on land before. Charlotte scrambled to get into her own dress, to escort her mother up to her house.
Drina steadied herself and leaned against him, she smiled softly up at him "I'm alright, the doctor gave me something for the nausea..." She assured and slowly walked out into the hallway with him.Rayna waited patiently perfectly composed, she hook her arm through her daughter's and smiled at her "where does your mate live darling?" She asked softly her voice more pleasant and calm than her powerful one under the sea.

Jay lead her to the first room, going slowly and being gentle the whole way. "This is the library." He said, pushing open the door. The entire two story walls were lined with books of all sorts, whole stacks of volume. Charlotte lead her mother up the side of the cliffs, grinning. "Right here." She said, eager to introduce Stefan. She knocked on the door and waited.
Drina smiled and looked around amazed "it's beautiful..." She sat down at the window seat and picked up a book "Cinderella..." She pronounced and looked up at him "right?"Stefan was holding Tide trying to get him to sleep, he opened the door and blinked at the gorgeous woman in front of him. He was confused until he saw Charlotte "thank goodness..."
Jay nodded, smiling encouragingly. "Yes. Cinderella. Good book. I enjoy it immensely." He said, kissing her cheek. Charlotte smiled, hugging Stefan tight. "Told you I'd be back." Then she took a step back. "Mother, this is Stefan. Stefan meet Rayna, the sea queen."
Drina moved so that he could sit by her and opened the book reading each of the words slowly. She loved reading and pat her stomach softly "they are listening too..."Rayna smiled "very nice to meet you Stefan. I trust what my daughter has said is true about you." She looked at the sweet blonde boy "oh who is this handsome little man?"
Jay sat down by her and listened to her read, enjoying the sound of it. He rested one hand on her stomach, just feeling the baby move around. Charlotte smiled and scooped Tide into her arms. "This is our son. Tide." She said, kissing his cheek. "He's quite the cutie."
"Handsome Mom!" Tide protested.
Drina loved the feeling of his hand on her stomach. She leaned into his shoulder "we need to be married, I don't want to have a child in wedlock...and I love you so much..."Rayna smiled and kissed his little cheek "handsome man." She agreed and smiled at Stefan "it's very nice to finally meet you."
Stefan nodded "I see where Char gets her beauty from."
Jay nodded, sighing softly. "We will be married." He agreed. "As soon as I can arrange it." He promised, kissing her cheek gently. Charlotte blushed softly, shrinking a little shyly. "Guys..." She protested, smiling. "Stefan saved me from a circus mother."
Drina smiled and nuzzled his shoulder "we should have a party, and invite your friends...so they know you are back and well."Stefan flushed "come in...it's about to rain..." He took Tide and Charlotte's hand "I made some scones...I didn't think you'd be home."
Jay nodded, smiling eagerly. "Yes. That sounds like a lovely idea. I'll call them all up." He assured. "Do you have anyone you would like to invite?"Charlotte smiled, following him in, it smelled lovely inside. "Oh Stefan... you didn't need to." She said, smiling brightly.
Drina shook her head "I know of no one in America...except you. I have no family let so...I'll be eager to know your friends." She assured and took a deep breath as she felt the baby.Stefan smiled "I couldn't just wait worried..."
Rayna glanced around the house "it's gorgeous...thank you for your hospitality."
Jay nodded, sighing softly. He felt bad that she had no family here, no connections. "I'll invite all the friends I think you would like." He promised, hoping to make some new ones for her. Charlotte nodded, "Anytime mother." She walked over and kissed Stefan's cheek, hugging him. "I hope you didn't worry too much over me." She said seriously.
Drina kissed his cheek, she moved his hand to her stomach "here...I feel it, really strong.." She said excited and kissed his cheek "your baby."Stefan shook his head "you don't have to hope, I will always worry about you, even if you are in my arms."
Rayna tossed a ball to Tide
Jay felt it gently, his fingers splaying over her stomach. "Oh..." he said softly. "They're really kicking..." He smiled brightly. "Our baby." He corrected. Charlotte hugged him tight. "Ok. But don't worry yourself sick." She insisted. "I worry about you too."
Tide caught it and giggled. "So... You're my grama?" He asked, smiling.
Drina nodded "ours..." she cupped his face and kissed him deeply "if someone said that I'd be madly in love with you and having your baby a few months ago I would have said they were delusional..." she teased.Rayna smiled and nodded "I am, and you are adorable."
Stefan went to get the buns out of the oven.
Jay laughed softly. "I would have as well." He agreed, kissing her cheek. "How far we have come from then..."Tide smiled proudly, tossing the ball back to her. "thank you." He said.
Charlotte set out plates for them, adding one for her mother, and got out glasses of milk for them all.
Drina nodded and kissed his neck "I found you attractive back then though...it was just hiding behind unadulterated hatred..."Rayna smiled "you are getting big, do you like the land?"
Stefan smiled and iced the buns "how has it been meeting her?"
Jay laughed softly. "Well that's good to know." he kissed her hair gently. "And was that the only reason you didn't kill me?" he teased. Tide nodded. "It's so cool here!" He agreed. "I'm going to live near here when I grow up. So I can visit my mom and dad."
Charlotte smiled softly. "Interesting. She did want to see me..." She looked up at him. "And it would seem that my father was a human..."
Drina smiled "well...our nemesis rivalry was entertaining...plus I had my wrists tied."Rayna smiled "do you like the sea?"
Stefan blinked surprised "what? Your mother was with a human?"
Jay laughed softly. "Afterwards, I mean." He reminded. "You could have left me to your betrothed."Tide nodded. "Of course! I just think its pretty cool up here." He said honestly.
Charlotte nodded, smiling sheepishly. "Turns out I'm only half mermaid."
Drina shook her head "no...I heard about how they treated you and I was appalled I had to let you go...you were kind to me."Rayna nodded and smiled "I like it too..."
Stefan was shocked and chuckled "were you born on land?"
Jay smiled a little, "Well that is good to know." He said, running his thumb over her cheek and kissing her gently. "I'm very glad you did not kill me."Tide grinned. "I'm glad. Will you visit us lots? I like you."
Charlotte nodded, shrugging. "My mother said I was... but I grew up in the ocean."
Drina smiled "I am very glad you did not let me die..." she pecked his lips "I want to meet the servants and dogs!"Rayna smiled and nodded kissing his forehead "as much as you want..."
Stefan nodded "but doesn't that mean you could give birth naturally?"

Jay nodded, getting up from the chair. "Alright." He agreed, "lets go see the dogs." He lead her down to the kennels.Tide smiled, hugging her. "Great!"
Charlotte nodded, smiling softly. "I guess so." She agreed.
Drina gasped and opened the door holding a hound puppy and snuggling it "what a sweety!"Rayna smiled "let's go get some food alright?" She helped him into the chair "Charlotte dear, sit down."
Jay smiled, greeting each of his hounds. "Thats Baron." He said, motioning to the pup she held.Tide nodded, sitting on his chair and waiting eagerly for the food.
Charlotte smiled a little. "Alright. Only if you do." She said seriously, hoping her mother enjoyed herself enough.
Drina giggled as Baron licked her face, she nuzzled his soft floppy ears "hi Baron! You are adorable! I little scrumptious scoundral"Stefan served the food and smiled sitting down "whole family is here...pretty incredible!"
Charlotte swam in slowly, looking around the magnificent palace. She had seen the outside a few times but never had gone in. It was gorgeous. She swallowed nervously and smiled. "Y-you were?"
