Oh yes - I totally could identify with Jane! If you don't check your kiddos back pack until Sunday evening, let me tell you how screwed you can be! LOL!V - I'm with you... Sleep is more important than getting up early and doing the hair/make up thing... Plus, I'm nicer to the people around me, so it's like a win-win. :)

Thank goodness for that, (view spoiler)
I'm at Chapter 67... I am having a really hard time putting this down!I'm pretty sure the (view spoiler)
Kristin ~ Experiment in Terror Junkie wrote: "I am right where you are! (view spoiler)"Yes it is!!
Kimberly wrote: "Moriarty has her finger on the pulse for sure."
I agree. It feels real. I can relate to the characters too.
Kelly wrote: "Oh, I'm not looking forward to that part of having kids. I'm tempted just to have their feelings hurt."
Oh no! That's actually some of the fun of having kids, as crazy as that sounds. lol

I was wondering that too. I am wondering if (view spoiler)
I have started today. What I remember about The Husband's Secret is good character development, I like a character with a distinct voice. That is important to me... And GRR Martin is the master - totally unrelated, I know.
V Audio Nerd wrote: "Oh and the beautiful mums in the morning looking perfect, when I look like a bag of cr@p lolWhat time do these women get up in the morning to look like that ?!?!"
I always in my sweats when I take my daughter to preschool... But at least she always look great. I used to dress to the nines, but now it is my daughter I dress up. I have become quite frumpy... And fat.
Haha, I think Madeline is kind of going through something with this turning forty. It is funny when she is reminiscing her one-night stands back in the day.
Renee wrote: "Oh Calamity! I only just read this one so it's too soon for a reread. No points for me."Haha - now I get it - Oh calamity.

End of Book
Laura - [spoilers removed]"
Kirstin, I agree! A 5* book in my opinion. My new favorite of hers! It is slightly better than What Alice Forgot.
Laura wrote: "My new favorite of hers! It is slightly better than What Alice Forgot. "Laura - I have not read What Alice Forgot but now I'm adding it to my TBR shelf! I liked The Husband's Secret but definitely liked Big Little Lies even better. :)
Poongothai - I'm glad you liked it too! I'm almost sorry it's over now..
Up to chapter 6I don't know if this is a guessing game of who may have been killed but there is only maybe one clue where I thought it could be Madeline. But that is all I got. So far she is my favorite character.
OMG it is so refreshing to hear the inner thoughts of a divorced couple and having your child have step parents and all the compromise/drama/insecurities/blah blah blah. Thinking of Madeline dealing with her teenager at her dad's house on Christmas. So fucked up and so today. God knows I have had my thoughts and troubles around these issues.

I was giggling when I wrote that post.
I've started saying it more too. My Mum was visiting and read it just after I did, so everything was "Oh Calamity" while she was here.
Renee wrote: "I was giggling when I wrote that post."
I love that saying now - it pops in my head all the time! LOL!
Sarah wrote: "OMG it is so refreshing to hear the inner thoughts of a divorced couple and having your child have step parents and all the compromise/drama/insecurities/blah blah blah. Thinking of Madeline deali..."LOL!!! Me too! My son's step mom is very organic **said long and draaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn out** and reminds me so much of Bonnie that it had me laughing!
Unfortunately, I'm more crazy like Madeline! (Just not nearly as confrontational!) - well, anymore...
Renee wrote: "I've started saying it more too. My Mum was visiting and read it just after I did, so everything was "Oh Calamity" while she was here."That's great! So nice that you can share the fun with your Mum. :)
Sarah wrote: "OMG it is so refreshing to hear the inner thoughts of a divorced couple and having your child have step parents and all the compromise/drama/insecurities/blah blah blah. Thinking of Madeline deali..."I agree. All of their inner thoughts and insecurities just seem so real.
I'm up to chapter 5. How these women can take their children to school dressed up - especially in heels baffles me. I work from home and am doing good to take a shower before I drop my kiddos off. Thank goodness they are teenagers so I don't have to get out of the car.I am really enjoying how this book includes real life events - ones that I can actually relate to.
Finally started reading (up to chapter 10 now) and enjoying it a great deal. Moriarty is officially a master of characterization! A few sentences and you know exactly what the character is all about. Completely agree, each one has their distinctive voice and personality. The writing is so vivid, reading about (view spoiler) made me flinch and gasp, and I felt Jane's dread when (view spoiler) and I don't even have kiddoes of my own! :) I also like the format of murder mystery in the background and characters' personal secrets and histories being the focus of the story at least so far. Of all the characters I relate the most to Jane and really like Madeline.
P.S. Ziggy is an awesome name, loved "Oh calamity!" and (view spoiler) made me snort.
I am really really enjoying this book. I am still completely behind (Chapter 10) but I'm enjoying it nevertheless.
V Audio Nerd wrote: "lol I said that earlier Debbie, I look like a bag of cr@p when I go to school!"Too funny! I am just so thankful that I can pull up to the school door. Now, if I ever had to get out of the car, I would probably scare a few kids lol!
Joi wrote: "I am really really enjoying this book. I am still completely behind (Chapter 10) but I'm enjoying it nevertheless."Joi, I am right there with you! I just started chapter 10.

I know, she is acting more of a child than the children!
I don't know what chapter I'm at, but it's the scene in the coffee shop with Renata and her husband. I think 50-something. (view spoiler)I agree with many of the previous comments. I love the character development and I love the mystery in the background. I also think Ziggy is an adorable name. I don't know why people are giving her a hard time about it. Probably just spill-over from all the other drama.

She is currently my least favorite woman in this book.
Kristie (~ Gaildis, of the Elves ~) wrote: "She is currently my least favorite woman in this book"Yes with Renata as a very close second lol
I'm not as far as you I don't think Kristie, I'm up to (view spoiler) I'm at work so can only plug in and listen when the boss goes out of the office, and on the way home haha
Oh yes! That is horrific. Poor Madeline. I would die if (view spoiler) We're almost at the same part. She just found that out not too long ago.
I've just finished. 4 stars from me. What a great book! Will catch up with comments and spoilers tonight.
V Audio Nerd wrote: "Celeste and Perry Chp 11 [spoilers removed]"Yeah - it's creepy to read....but you just know it happens in real life.
Kimberly wrote: "... Oh and that take home stuffed animal thing. Haha. My son brought home the school possum for a week of fun at our house, complete with photos, etc. But, he forgot to tell me it was in his bag un..."I totally remember this from when my kids were in kindergarten. You could always tell the Moms that did over the top stuff so there kids looked 'cool' when they handed in the book and then the moms like me - who just did whatever we had planned for the weekend. Unfortunately this mentality doesn't always go away once your kids get older. I have a middle schooler and high schooler. Still feels like a competition. It's so true at one point in the book someone comments on how they(the parent) feels like they are back in school. You think (or at least I do) I managed to get through it once.... I don't want to be back in school but you kind of are. The author is pretty spot on for how the parents are.
