Children's book from 1980s or 1990s about a girl who was sick and her friends helped her by filling in for her and each other

This is a children's book from the 1980s or 1990s I think. All of the characters are animals. There was a singing teacher who was a giraffe and he was filling in for the TV reporter. He got on TV and sang instead of reading the news. The dentist filled in for the singing teacher, and the beautician filled in for the dentist.
