Ben | 67 comments Reminiscent of Robert Heinlein and Ursula K. Le Guin, Hurley's The Light Brigade was an exhilarating mindbender. The characters were fully developed and singular voices, which was astonishing since there were so many. Even with all the time jumps and confusion with where we would end up in the grand scheme of the war, Dietz remained a beacon amidst the craziness. I cared to see what happened to Dietz, and to Dietz's fellow soldiers.

This book encouraged me to pick up additional works by Hurley, as I found the writing engaging and energetic. I thought I'd be confused by the time jumps and the number of characters, but Hurley seamlessly wove it all together.
