It's a small world. 'The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith' has just been released on blu-ray in the UK, as part of the Masters of Cinema series. A very fine film indeed. Tom's recounting of how he was approached by the casting director (director Fred Schepisi's then wife) was both funny and sad. He said how when he was growing up he was told that whilst he could talk to white women, he should never look at them, so when he first noticed her watching him, his first thought was 'oh god, what have I done'.

for no other reason bar it's brilliance,

My offering comes from the marvellous El Paraiso record label and is a collaboration between Danish singer/songwriter Martin Rude and fellow countrymen Jonas Munk and Jakob Skøtt, from the band Causa Sui.

From three years ago, this was put together to demonstrate how the MakeNoise 'Tempi' module (that's the black one at top right on the upper case) from Kaitlyn's modular synth set-up can be used. Full details are in the description below the video.

As you say, Tim, small world indeed. It was a seminal film in the 1970s resurgence of Australian cinema and Fred Schepisi's work is always worth watching.

most of the songs/pieces in this list were found not to match my particular taste in music, but i appreciate the pleasure many thousands may take from them.
1 - w.smith (is indeed a song/piece that agrees with my taste in music - i am sure the others on this list will find their homes in the hearts of the participants.)

That is indeed useful. The one I had in mind when I posted this theme (King Crimson's 'Indoor Games') doesn't exist on youtube (the laugh at the end, provoked apparently by Peter Sinfield's lyric ending with a "hey-ho!" can be heard in isolation. For sneaky people, I'll allow the Beatles 'Tomorrow Never Knows', where the 'seagull' loop is actually McCartney laughing played backwards and varispeeded.

Or....in the case of one song i recall, by a very famous rock and roll singer.....unintended laughter from the main singer, that gets almost uncontrollable towards the end, at the backing singer!
And finally....i have a couple of songs in mind, where there is laughter on it..but just for a few seconds.
Are any of these qualifiable?

As to the length of the laughter, doesn't matter. There's at least one Dylan song where he comes very close to laughing but manages to control himself. Those, and similar from others would be fine.

Okay Tim..i think i know what gunna plump for, cheers.
Right then..some interesting voting again....most of them stayed in the low singles...and all four winning tracks just about made it to double figures. But one song had led the way from the get go to the end..and that's 'The Whales' by The Mermen. It scored 15 points..so this week's winner is Derek..well done that man.
And with 12 points, in 2nd place, collecting a silver for his nom 'Power' by AJ Ghent, it's Brass Neck.
And..seeing as i'm knackered again..so i'm not doing a countback, two songs on 10 points each, get to share the bronze between them, they are: 'Tíbrá (Live on KEXP)' by Samaris, nominated by TheFoe & 'Fourths' by Sun River, nominated by SussexWelsh.
Well done you four..and a nice playlist i think. Liking the Samaris track much..good choice Nick.
Finally, the booby prize for this week..goes to 'Bad Boys' by Speedy Keen (with Third World), which scored zip..hard luck Gordon. One wooden spoon coming your way.

Felicitations once more, you lovely people. :)
Just a quick note..before we begin the next round....apologies for my political comments on the previous round. It was just a passing thought, as sometimes, when i set up a new round, i just type whatever is rattling about in my bonce at that moment, usually when i can't think of anything else to say! However, this being a music thread, i shall remind myself to keep politics off it...if i can remember to! :)
Okay, and on that note..it's the return of the wildcard round. I always look forward to this one, as it's a anything goes, especially those that are seldomn heard on the wireless. Pick what you like folks...the world's your oyster....or should that be..from the world's music back catalogue, will be your song.
Noms and links in the traditional fashion, as you know. theDuke be grateful he will be!
I've been watching Star Wars movies this week! :)
And off we go...
Have a fabulously lovely wonderful first 3 days of the new week folks! :)
