I found this article to be of interest and thought I’d pass it along.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Wow, detailed long report. I still haven't read it all.

From what I have read, a few things stood out to me. First, this data is based on US registered US ISBNs only. I find that unfortunate and I don't feel going by that alone paints a clear enough picture of the global market, and the internet is international. There are Americans living in other countries, there are authors who don't have an American ISBN, the list goes on.

Second, only three companies? That's... a tad disturbing. At least the Big Five have five.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the report. I suppose it's a clear enough report of registered American ISBNs.

James Corkill | 31 comments Your welcome, Lily.
Perhaps it's an indication of what might be happening with self-publishing in other countries as well. It would be nice to find out from our fellow writers if this seems to be the trend worldwide.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) You might be right, it would be interesting to find out. I'm not sure why there doesn't seem to be international reports. I couldn't find any.
