Jen G | 1 comments Purple cloth cover/gold writing. Read in the early 90's.
Maggie (?) is a troubled young girl who feels she has 6 different sides to her personality. She pictures them as living in a chest of drawers. She is afraid of the side called "Peggy", who is only a pair of frightened eyes.
Margaret hates her mothers knitting needles and the ugly couch downstairs. She frequently experiences pain in her nether regions. At school, she accuses a teacher of assault when he comes toward her holding a pointer. She does not understand her pain or reaction. The truth comes out in the end.

It sounds like a dark and fascinating pre-Speak read.

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5074 comments I found it on the Internet Archive (archive.org) using some of your keywords, checked it out, and read the whole thing. I couldn’t put it down (figuratively speaking). It’s incredible, but oh, so tragic.
