Mark Cini (markcini) | 2 comments Confession first; I've never read a book written in Maltese. Or not that I remember anyway.

Can the community recommend Maltese classics and maybe how to get them in the UK?

Dean Muscat | 1 comments Hi Mark,

Must admit I'm no Maltese lit expert, but a few I've read which I particularly like are:

- Ramon u ż-Żerbinotti by Ġużè Stagno
- Samuraj by Frans Sammut
- Trevor Zahra's adult novels Is-Surmast and Nanna Ġenoveffa,
- and any of Kilin's books, especially l-Ghafrid and Fuq il-Għajn ta' San Bastjan

And while I haven't read it myself, friends who I trust have recommended Kulħadd ħalla Isem Warajh by Clare Azzopardi.

As for where to get them, I think your best bet is going on the local publishers' websites. I believe most of the above are published by Merlin Books and they seem to do international shipping (https://merlinpublishers.com/merlins-...)

Hope that helps a little.
