Our featured author for October 2019 is Ellie Alexander, who also writes as Kate E. Dyer-Seeley.

Ellie Alexander, author of the Bakeshop Mystery Series (St. Martin's Press), is a Pacific Northwest native who spends ample time testing pastry recipes in her home kitchen or at one of the many famed coffeehouses nearby. When she’s not coated in flour, you’ll find her outside exploring hiking trails and trying to burn off calories consumed in the name of research.

Linda (rudylkr) | 7335 comments So I just looked and I've had Meet Your Baker on my TBR since 2016. Once again the AOM is helping me to bring books to the top of the list and finally get around to reading them. Looking forward trying her out next month.

Barb | 982 comments Don't know how I missed knowing that Ellie Alexander = Kate E. Dyer-Seeley. I've only read two or three of the Bakeshop series, but I've enjoyed them enough to continue the series -- so far, at least. The Pacific Northwest books, though, weren't at all my cup of tea, and I've dropped the series. It's hard to believe they were written by the same person!

I finished it last night. Very pleasant cozy. Simple mystery. Great discussion of baking and recipes. good book to curl up with on a lazy afternoon

Christine Kuffel | 3 comments I listened to "Meet Your Baker" a few months ago and enjoyed it. I will happily listen to/read more from this series.

"Scene of the Climb" I couldn't get into. I wanted to, given the premise and location, however, the Meg strikes me as immature and a little obnoxious - not a character I want to spend time with...

Mark Baker (carstairs38) | 524 comments I've read all of the Pacific Northwest series and the first of the Bakeshop series. I find the books good, but I tend to bump others up my TBR pile ahead of them.

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I enjoyed the Bakeshop series for awhile, but I loathe Carlos so stopped reading them. Read the first Sloane Krause book and liked it. Also read one or 2 of the Pacific Northwest books and wasn't crazy about them.

Laurie Cantrell (goodreadscomlaurie_cantrell) | 1 comments I enjoyed the Bakeshop series. Will have to read the others to see If I like.

Barb | 982 comments Finished book #3 from the Bakeshop series. I didn't like it as much as I did the first two in the series, but I've been in a bit of a reading funk -- not a slump, because I'm still reading, but nothing really seems to live up to my hopes/expectations.

On Thin Icing (Bakeshop #3), by Ellie Alexander, finished 10/25 ★★★.5
