Ever concerned that listening to an audio book is "cheating", or you're missing out somehow? Fear not: recent scientific study demonstrated using MRI scans that stories stimulated the same cognitive and emotional areas, regardless of their medium!

Tanya (tanya712) | 237 comments Love this! I have listened to audiobooks for at least 30 years. Years ago I rented from a company in Maryland (Recorded Books, I just looked them up and they still exist 👍🏻). You would order the book and they would mail it to you. When you finished it went in a provided addressed container and drop it in the mail. They were on cassettes and long books were sometimes over 20 tapes! I also would borrow from the library, but more limited. I guess I never outgrow my Mom’s bedtime stories 😂
