Bernard Norcott-mahany | 52 comments I'd like to suggest the following for those who are intimidated by the length of Herodotus' work (about 600 pp).
Either read Book I, and then Books VI-IX, which would be around 300+ pages, or
if you can find it, read William Johnstone's translation/abridgement called "The Essential Herodotus," which is 288 pp. Here is a link to Oxford University Press on the book: https://global.oup.com/academic/produ...
The book is available on Amazon, and may be available for Kindle.
