WHEEL OF FORTUNE 2
DURATION: OPEN

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is an individual challenge, where each participant will be given their own Wheel of Fortune puzzle to solve.

Here's how to play: In order to guess a letter, you must read a book for that letter using either the first letter of a book's title or the first letter of an author's first or last name. For this round, vowel letters will be the same as consonant letters - - - this is different from round 1.

To guess your letter, you will post the book you've completed and the letter you are guessing. Please be sure to include the book title of the book you've read, the author's name, and the date you finished reading your book. Please note: this is different from round 1 where you were able to guess your letter first. This round, you will complete your book first, and post after you've finished reading it, along with your guess.

If you guess a letter that is NOT found in your puzzle, you will be given a small task to complete in order to move forward.

When you think you know the answer to your puzzle, post a note to let me know your guess. If you guess correctly, you are welcome to move on to another puzzle. If you guess incorrectly, proceed by reading and choosing another letter, until you are ready to guess again.

No N letter in your puzzle, Ruth.

But...don't forget, this time around you post your finished book with your guess of a letter.

It's a little bit confusing because this is different than we did it before.

So when you are ready to guess again, just post the book you've finished reading along with your guess. Don't forget to include the date you finished reading the book, and the author :)

Hope that makes sense.

No it doesn't need to be an N letter book for you, Ruth. I know you asked and I answered, so we're just treating that as kind of like a freebie :)

Just use the last book you finished, if you finished it after I posted the challenge yesterday. If not, just use the next book you finish.

In other words, we're moving forward from 08/31/19. Does that make sense?

Great, Ruth! What is your guess with your finished book? Is it the Y (from the title)? Or is it the J or W (from the author's name)?

I'm sorry, Ruth! I hate those Y letters too!!

(Pssst...I think author Ann Rule has a Y book or two. She wrote true crime, so I'm not sure if you've read any of her books or not, or if you liked her writing style if you did.)

If you have a Y author, I'll take that! Will that help?

Barb Let's see if I understand the revised rules. I want to see if there are any Ts in my movie title, and I've finished a book by a T author.

author William G. Tapply - Dead Meat (Brady Coyne #5), finished 9/1/19 ★★★

That is correct, Barb. There are no T letters in your puzzle. To move forward, please post a book title that begins with the letter "T" below.

message 33: by Barb (new)

Barb One of the T books I enjoyed earlier this year:
That's Not All Folks: My Life in the Golden Age of Cartoons and Radio, by Mel Blanc
That's Not All Folks My Life in the Golden Age of Cartoons and Radio by Mel Blanc

There's a lot of name-dropping in the book, which got a bit old at times, but I enjoyed reading about the transition from radio to television.

So in order to guess the next letter, I have to read a book with an author/title beginning with that letter?

message 34: by Katharine (new)

Katharine | 410 comments Jingles,

I am currently reading How Sweet It Is to make up for my H guess and also reading Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich to guess my next letter (which will be E, once I'm done). Does that work okay?

Hi Katharine! You don't have to worry about your H book if you don't want to. That was a freebie for you and Ruth since this time around things started off differently than the last round. So see, your H book might not be of help, unless you wanted to try for a M or B (using the author's name).

When you have finished your E book, just post it below along with your guess. If your puzzle has that letter, I'll update it, and you will be able to see where you are and you will be ready to move on to your next letter and book.

I hope I'm not confusing things more. I'll post a short explanation below so everyone can see how it works, and that might help.

Here is an example of how to post your guess:

Finished:
Clear and Present Danger (Jack Ryan, #5) by Tom Clancy

Clear and Present Danger|Tom Clancy|09.02.19

For the letter "C"
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If the puzzle has no letter C, here is what happens:

XXX, there is no letter C in your puzzle. To move forward, post a book below whose title begins with the letter "C".
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Example of what XXX would post next:

Curtain by Agatha Christie

--------------------------------------------------------------------
And my response should be:

XXX, you are ready to guess another letter.

Of course, your post doesn't have to look just like mine. As long as you post a finished book, showing the title, the author and the date you finished reading it, I'm good with it :)
