I saw it, so I've noted the first bonus point earned for the team in the top post in your thread. :)

Review: Very cool concept of children who have wandered through doorways leading to other worlds. The other worlds were pretty fascinating. There was just a lot going on for such a short book. I do look forward to reading further in the series get more of the story.

I'm happy to continue the series for that bonus point.

Review: Toby's magic doesn't fit in the any of the channels in the magic system of the world. the last guild who accepted him for training has washed their hands of him leaving him to die when his magic explodes out of control. His only hops is a disgraced mage who live as a hermit he had some success in getting unplaced mages to find their channels. but the guild doesn't want Darius to teach anymore and in teaching Toby starts a determined mage hunt that forces Darius to rely on his friends other outcast mages who don't fit in the guild which bring control to Toby but makes the outcast mages realize that they should be sticking together so they form a new guild. I like the new to me magic system and that even though the guild tries to control it magic retains some of its mysteries. hope to read more of this series.

Lynn has messaged me to say that unfortunately she needs to drop out due to personal reasons.

I'll see about getting a back-up player to join the team as of the next roll. For this week, just carry on with your remaining team members.
Since Lynn was your team captain, you will need to choose someone else to take her place in that. Let me know once you've chosen a new captain.

Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1) by Lisa Kleypas
Week # 2
Spot: 15
Book: Someone to Watch Over Me 2.5* ✔️ 9/8/19
Qualification: #1 on Bow Street Runners
https://www.goodreads.com/series/43174
Pages: 384 pages
Published October 13th 2009
Review: Oh My God! I was so disappointed. I never thought there would be a Lisa Kleypas book that I would not like. But here it is In Living Color. I was so bored throughout the whole thing. I had figured out what was going on 20% in and it just went downhill from there. The only reason I finished the 300+page monstrosity of a book was so that I could count it for 2 challenges and to find out why.

I can take charge of organizational stuff - posts, updates, links, etc. Any chance someone on the team has a lucky hand and is willing to be our designated roller? :) I would but I had the most rotten luck with dice last time I was captain! Honestly, I maybe rolled double digits once in the whole round :) Also some Friday nights I may be away from computer and might need backup in the unlikely event of a last minute update or such.

Book: The Last To KnowWendy Corsi Staub
Qualification: Stand alone
Finished: September 9, 2019
Rating: ☆☆😞

Review: If you've never read a book by Wendy Corsi Staub, please don't let this be your first. I've read several of her books and this was a disappointment.

The story is about a serial killer in a quiet suburb. The first victim meets her fate in the first 5 pages. You could really skip the next 200 before anything interesting happens. It has a lot of unnecessary filler and whining. You could drive a truck through the plot holes. I know a good mystery has you guessing until the end. This one however tries to point you toward characters that have you saying to yourself, "really"! And when the killer was revealed, I was just glad the story was over.

After reading this, maybe there should be points for pushing through to the end of a story that seems more like work than enjoyment!

Elena | 205 comments Thank you, Mamacita!
So if we have all our books read and reviews posted before the end of Thursday, then we can roll as soon as Friday begins Central Time, literally at midnight. If not, we have to wait until after the last review is posted (as long as it's before 11:59 Friday, CST) and then roll. If we don't have all reviews done by the end of Friday and no free pass to cover for it, then we can't roll that week and have to sit it out. Hope this explanation makes sense :)

Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning
Week #2
Spot: 15
Book: Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
Qualification: 1st in Fever series
Finished: Sep 12
Rating: ★★★★

Review:
I've been curious about this series for a few years, and when I found out it worked for not one, but two of my current team challenges, I jumped right in! And I enjoyed it quite a bit, despite a few minor inconsistencies. I found the story pretty interesting and the world of Fae very imaginative. Main character MacKayla 'Mac' Lane shows a great deal of growth in the course of the book and I ended up liking her a lot. I was surprised at how much hate she got from some of the reviewers on GR, to me her male counterparts were a lot more problematic.
The book doesn't answer all of the questions being asked in it and though I would've liked a clearer resolution, I'm looking forward to learning more in the next installment, particularly hoping for unveiling some of the mystery shrouding Jericho :)

Bonus Point: 2 in 1 - 1st in series and Joyce rated it 5 stars

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 1251 comments So after Joyce puts in her Completion Post today then I can roll @ midnight CST. Otherwise I roll after she post tomorrow, correct? & Elena you are doing all the links for the members & mods, correct?

Book: Keystone by Dannika Dark
Date read: 9/12/19
Rating: 5 stars
Review:
Raven Black is unusual being half-mage half-vampire, something that is not supposed to happen. She inadvertently hears something she shouldn't have and now Darius and his group are after her. She lives on the streets so when Keystone takes her in she doesn't know what to think. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I had never read any of the Mageriverse books but you don't need to have read the previous ones for this new series.

Review: Second book of the series starts with Destructive Delta raiding a branch of the Order of Asteria and capturing many members and discover bomb making material laid out as if just waiting for them to be made even though they got the material 2 months prior. then a bomb scare at a thieran registration center to cover the fact that the order got information from the center.which lead the order to the thieran children center that they bombed to draw out Dr. Shultzon (who worked with Ash and Sloane when they where teens, to prepare them for Joining THIRDS) who was going by the name of Dr. Freeman to protect his Identity. Isaac Pearce captured Dex and drugged him with a mind control drug which made Dex try to kill Sloane. He resisted enough to keep from killing Sloane even though he still attacked Sloane. If this wasn't chaotic enough. The Coalition breaks in and starts attacking the Order.
