Ann Cothron | 18 comments This year I have an incentive for students who read a VSBA in the Intermediate Division. I am calling it Goo Goo for Books. When a student reads one of the twenty nominees, passes the AR test, and fills out a review card, then that student receives a Volunteer State Prize - such as a Goo Goo Cluster or a Moon Pie. I have other non food prizes for students with allergies. I have a chart on display that keeps track of who read what book. I put the books on display under the poster and I have a big basket of Moon Pies and Goo Goo's along with the list of books. During my 4th and 5th grade class time, if there is a book available, I read part of it to the students. Of course many students want to check it out, so we have to draw names. These books are hardly ever on the shelf.

I am using your Goo Goo idea and I can't keep the books on the shelf. Teresa
