I am a middle school media specialist in St. Augustine, FL. Before "moving" into the library 8 yrs ago, I taught language arts for 8 years, so YA lit has been a passion of mine for a long time. I now have no time to read what I call "big people" books, but that's okay because I really enjoy YA best anyway. I hope to join in some good book discussions, and I am always looking for titles to recommend to my kids.
Hey, my name is Kylie and I'm 14 years old. I love YA and I saw that this group was reading The Hunger Games this month, a great book, so i decided to join. Some of my favorite books are Wuthering Heights, the Dream Catcher series, the Mortal Instruments series, The Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter, Paper Towns, and The Secret Life of Bees.
Hi Everyone,I'm a 30 yr old mother of 3 (5, 3, and 1 yr old) and I'm also an RN working part time in Same Day Surgery. I've been married 10 yrs this year! My husband and I are both avid readers -- we frequent the library all the time. And now our oldest is reading, but only preschool books for now (she'll go to Kindergarten this fall). I can't wait to share some of my favorite books with her when she's older.
I have been reading a lot of YA fiction and I really enjoy that genre, so I thought I'd come on over and get some new ideas here. My favorites are: Harry Potter series, Twilight series, Mortal Instruments series, The Hunger Games, and The Giver.

Hello! My name is arrie and I love books. I also love to write and listen to music. I usually write realistic fiction, and I wrote a story that I am going to turn into a movie soon. My mom is also a high school english teacher, and so I have been reading and writing since age 3 (my first public reading experience was reading the Cat in the Hat to everyone at our local library, age 3). I really look forward to being in this group!

I revel in books it really fuels my passion of English and reading influences my writing and I am writing book, that I have been working on for longer than I can remember!
I found myself having to really flesh out my story before I could even begin really writing it. God knows how many copies that I have written. I havent even gotten a title for my book, because I want to finish writting it before I stress over it.
I look forward to our discussions, and the books we read together,

Hi, I'm Sabrina, not a teenager, I'm 24 but I love reading YA. I have a new review blog about it. I love writing too, hope to publish one day. http://crystalreviews.blogspot.com/
Hi I'm Kritika. I'm going to be a sophomore in high school this fall :PI am obsessed with books in general, especially YA novels... so this seemed like the club to join! I also love to write stories, and am working on an attempt at a novel. Which I haven't had any time to work on :(
Hello Im Tiffany Bradford and I am 28 (and two weeks counting) aspiring writer and a Librarian. Im unfortunately a web librarian(BOOOOO but it pays the bills...so YAAAAY?!) but I love YA and its mostly what I read. I live in Louisville, KY/New Albany, IN area. I have too many books for my own good and have now seriously considered...a Kindle. I have always been a fantasy, horror, Sci-fi fan so thats mostly what I read. When I was a teen I read the adult stuff (with the exception of Lisa Jane Smith) and now as an adult I read the YA lit...so Im a little backward I know.
I am not into alot of the girlie type of YA books, if you know what I mean. When I was a kid it was Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High and now its Gossip girl and Clique and well no offense to the thousands of people who love them but..... GAAAGGGG! So if you ask my opinion on those types of novels I dont have one and I have no desire to have one beyond the dry heave I have now.
I figured a book discussion group would be awesome to get ideas on what to read and whats coming out because honestly I cant keep up anymore.
Does a web librarian mean you get to work at home? That would be great!
We have read a wide variety of books so I am sure you will find something you love! Welcome!

I have the option to go into my office or stay home or well anywhere I have internet access since all our materials are housed in a digital repository.

I think Gossip Girl was in the poll for September's read.

Usually only takes me a few hours to finish a novel but that would be one of those novels I start and then try to hide from myself so I have an excuse not to finish it.
I don't even know what Gossip Girl is about but I know a lot of people are into it.
Welcome Cara!
Welcome Cara!
Hey everyone!!! I'm Jennifer and I'm 23 years old...my favorite genre is YA...I have piles of read and to-read ya books scattered around my room...i can't wait to jump into discussions : )
Hi! My name is Larry and I am attending Cleveland State U. to become a Special Ed. Mild/Mod high school teacher. It took me until the age of 31 to realize my passion to teach, so with the support of my wife I was able to go for it! I am in a literacy class dealing with adolescent literature, and was not much into reading books until now. We are assigned 2 books a week to give critiques on and how they may or may not be incorporated into the curriculum. For example, Hunger Games(possibly the best book I ever read) would be great for lang. arts character development. Then there is Skim (ouch), a great graphic novel, but way too many landmines to even be able to present to the administrators. Anyways I have found a love of reading because of this class, and am going to continue to read YA due to the relevant issues that teens are struggling with these days. I want to understand their viewpoints and be able to connect with them. I start my practicum(teaching half-days) in the fall and am extremely nervous but the same can't wait. This post is way too long.
