I'm glad you all could join! Christopher, have you ever considered reading the Pendragon series? I started them when I was about your age, and they are my absolute FAVORITES!
I am Deck Deckert. I am married to Alma Alexander, the author of the young adult series, WORLDWEAVERS, which is better than Harry Potter. Of course, admittedly I am just a bit biased. [g:]
Hi, I joined Goodreads a few days ago and now have 180 books! My favorite books are Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, and Artemis Fowl series. I am admittedly a bit low on young adult stuff, so I am going to get Twilight series, Warriors series, Eragon series, and Bartimaeus series. My friend Lupin also recommended Pendragon, so I'll have a look at that too!
Hi my name is Erin and I love reading more then breathing. Reading is a passion of mine and I especially love YA novels. <3 [|:]
Hello all! I'm Melyssa. I've been getting more into YA for awhile now. I used to hate reading, but the Potter series changed that. Now I can't go for long without reading something. I'm currently reading Secrets of Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. I'm sad to see that I missed out on The Hunger Games on here. I've heard it's pretty good. It's next on my list.I love Harry Potter. It's my favorite set of books.
I look forward to all the reading and discussing!
Hi Melyssa, You didn't miss out on The Hunger Games. Lots of members, after they've read a book, will add posts to even long ago held discussions. All past discussions remain open. It's a great book. I highly recommend it.Edit: Also, we're reading it all the way through this month so if you can get a copy and read it quickly, you won't even be "late."
*lol* Actually, I just went back to the main page of the group and realized that The Hunger Games is the read for this month! Big *DUH* moment for me there.I've heard nothing but good things about it, so I'm excited to read it. Only problem is whenever I check the library, it's always out. So I guess I'll be making a purchase this week. :D

I loved Life as We Knew It too. I keep meaning to read the companion book, The Dead and Gone, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I wonder if it's as good?
Also You HAVE to read The Hunger Games!!
Hey BookWink - loved the companion novel - The Dead and the Gone - it was a bit more scarier, but I loved it as well. :)
I also loved Life As We Knew It and liked The Dead and the Gone almost as much. This World We Live In is coming out in 2010, the last of a trilogy I think. The characters from the first two books will be in this one. I can't wait!
Both characters will be in it? I didnt know there was going to be a 3rd one!!! im excited now!!! i am planning on reading the dead and the gone. I have also heard that it is on the darker side and a bit more scary.
Hello, I'm Anita and am an Optometry student who
Hi, i'm sara! i'm 15 and absolutely love reading and writing (even though its frowned upon by my friends). Someday i hope to write YA romances. I started a group named Just Another Teenage Book Club, but im currently the only member, yay me :) --no spam intended--

Thanks! That will be next on my list. BTW, if anyone wants to subscribe to my updates, I generally have around two a day, with a useful thought, and I am also reading two to three books at the same time!
That's like me im 12 and i love to read and write to in 4th grade we had writers come in our class and teach us how to write better . It was pretty fun .
Hello everyone! My name is Lindsey Michael Miller, and I'm really excited about this group. I love that so many people have joined and so many people are interested in YA Lit.
I have a published book called The Circus, but what I'm really working on now is my YA Lit review blog - http://www.lindseyslibrary.com.
I've been a teacher and tutor for inner city schools in the past, and even though I'm now working for a marketing agency, I realized that there aren't a lot of good YA Lit review sites out there specifically geared toward teachers and librarians...so I made one.
Let me know what you think, and I can't wait to discuss some of these great books here, and also to post reviews of them on my blog!
first I gotta say that your picture is so random its funny, angie. nice.Anyway, hello! i joined this group because all i ever read is YA (mostly) and i've read some of the books on here and hopefully i'll find some good reads here :D I like Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Twilight, and other series...
other than books i like music (RELIENT K!!)
And i can't wait for Catching Fire
Thanks... I photoshopped the lightsaber into the picture! I am just holding a stick!
Welcome to the group!
Welcome to the group!
Hi all! I just found this group and am interested to see what books you choose to read. I am an adult who shamlessly admits to my addiction to all the fantastic books found in YA! Aside from Harry Potter, I had not read any YA books since I was an early-teen when I skipped from juvenille to adult fiction. 2 years ago in the post-Harry Potter "what do I read now" black hole that was my to-read list, I was given TWILIGHT and THE GOOSE GIRL to read. I have read over 160 YA books since then and only about 5 or 6 adult novels (most of which were utterly disappointing).
I LOVE GoodReads -- seeing what other people thought of books I read, finding new recommendations, and having great conversations about them all!
THE HUNGER GAMES is one of the most awesome books of all time! I am excited for the discussion about it!
Hi! I'm Alethea, and I'm in way too many groups. But then again, I read way too many YA novels. So the chances are high that I've already read most of the group reads and can comment, phew.I'm really loving the series Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer, Storm Glass (Glass Book 1) by Maria V. Snyder, and Lisa McMann's Dream Catcher series (starts with Wake.
Can't wait for Fire (Kristin Cashore) and Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins), coming this fall!
Hi guys and welcome! Lately I have found that I am reading a ton of YA too and then I think... hummm... when was the last night I read and adult novel. And then of course I squeeze one in. :)
<> If you like YA series, try:
the Worldweavers trilogy by Alma Alexander.
Earthsea books (Ursula le Guin)
Narnia books (C S Lewis)
the Hallowmere books (Tiffany Trent)
the Artemis Fowl series (Eoin Colfer)
There is the Fionavar Trilogy (marketed as adult but pretty good YA reads) (Guy
Gavriel Kay)
Hello!! My name is Jennifer. I am currently a 7th grade Science/Social Studies Teacher. I love to read and really love YA books! I can't get enough of them. I need a place where I can talk about the books I've read, because my fiance is pretty sick of listening to me talk about books! ;-) Can't wait to discuss :-)
Hi Jennifer! Yeah, I had to find an outlet for my booktalk--it's not enough that it's my job (I'm a sales manager for a big chain bookstore) or that my husband reads (though not YA) or that I have a YA book club that meets every 3 weeks. Thanks to this group I'm reading The Hunger Games for the 3rd time!
hullo...i'm nina malkin. i like words (please teach me a new one one if you get a moment). i use words in conversation, conscious thought and writing. my latest book is a "paranormal romance" (they say) and it's called SWOON. there are 83,226 words in it. sounds impressive, but i repeated some. you can learn more about me at ninamalkin.com — you can also get free services there...
