Hello. I'm very excited to have found this group. I am a baker by day and writer of YA by night. Can't wait to discuss the books that no other adult around me reads.

I'm also a YA writer on my spare time. (Working at a vet clinic, a full-time student in univeristy and I'm involved in hockey and ballet! ahh... very little spare time to come by- but I try)
Welcome to the group Laurel!

Welcome to the group, it's a great place.
Hi! I am 18 years old, and I am currently living in Utah! I am about to graduate from high school, and head off to college! I am planning on moving across the pond to England! I am still unsure on what I want to study in college but my new interest is book art. I love books! i have been reading since I was little! I have read SO many books, I can't name them all! I am currently reading, "Song of the Lioness" series by Tamora Pierce.

Anyone who won't leave the house w/o a book belongs with us! Welcome. I had lunch in Luxembourg once before the Euro. It was pretty funky for an American kid to use different currency for breakfast, lunch and dinner all in the same day.
I live in one of the few towns in the USA with no Starbucks OR McDonalds. We do have a Burger King, but I'm sure it is the worst one in the country (I hope there isn't one worse than ours anyway). :)
Since I died in 1885 I've had a lot of time on my hands. You never realize when you're living how much time sleeping, chewing and swallowing, and personal hygiene consume.I get some writing in these days, but more reading really. I like R.L. Stine, Roald Dahl, Tolkien, Lewis, all that. I'm reading the latest Percy Jackson and find myself sniggering at the description of the Underworld. Things are reaallly like that, you know. But its all in good fun.
I like thinking about Professor Tolkien's wonderful essay, "On Fairy Stories" -- esp. the part about "eucatastrophe". Why just the other day I said to him, "Ronald, why is it that eucatastrophe is so difficult to achieve?" And he said to me, "Mortimus, it is a skill that takes years of practice. And you must strive for it. On top of that, you must have experienced it."
Wonderful talking to J.R.R.
Love to talk to someone here too, by the way.
Angie, I hate to break this to you -- but he's dead. He's lost weight though and is looking very svelte. We don't talk much --
So is your book a YA book? I think it looks good... be sure to add it to our goodreads author section!
Joined because my local book club doesn't allow discussions on their meetup website, so if I can't attend a meeting, I don't get to know people's thoughts on the book. This is a much better option!
Hi everyone, I'm a middle school librarian and yes of course I love my job! I'm married with three kids and one of them is graduating in June! I guess it goes without saying (but I will) that I love to read and it helps that I'm a pretty fast reader because the more I read the more I can recommend books to students, co-workers and friends!I recently started a new book review blog www.libraryloungelizard.com and I'm having fun chatting with all you online book lovers!
Hi!! I'm Minnie, and I love to read! I think this group on Goodreads is a great idea, and I was really happy when I found it. I don't always have time to read the books every month, but I read The Hunger Games a few months ago, so I'll have time to talk about it! It is one of my favorite books!!
Hi everyone! We have been reading some good books lately so I can't wait to hear what you think about it.
Aloha! I'm a teen librarian - not a teenaged librarian but a adult-aged librarian who gets paid to read and talk about teen books (among other things). I grew up in Hawaii but Seattle is where I live now. I facilitated a book discussion group at a previous library I worked at but don't have one at my new library...I miss it!I'm looking forward to talking about The Hunger Games next month! Like Minnie, it's one of my favorite books. If you haven't listened to it on audiobook - I highly recommend it...I'm sure your local library has a few copies >.<
Angie - Thanks! He's 9 years old and a total sweetheart.Andrea - thank you...I think this group seems pretty awesome :o)

Hi, my name is Nicole, and I'm not exactly sure how to suggest books to this group, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever read the Pendragon series. They are my favorite books of all time and I was hoping some other people would be interested in reading them too! Here is a website: http://www.thependragonadventure.com/
Welcome! Nicole, you go here to suggest books

Hi! My name is Larissa and I'm from Indonesia. I moved to an international school here in Java when I was in 7th grade and that really opened up oppurtunities to read good literature! =D Now I'm going to 10th grade after this summer is over... I'm a new English reader so if anyone can recommend me "must read literature" that'll be great! Thanks!
Hello! My name is Stephanie and I teach high school Spanish, but I also have a background in English lit. I found this group last night and am excited to read more YA lit so I can make recommendations to my students and get them pumped to read.
I moderate other groups on this site and love being active on Goodreads. I look forward to discussions with you!
Lynne wrote: "I would be totally interested in reading the Pendragon series."I'm really glad to hear that! They are amazing books! It would be really nice if we could do the first book as one of our book discussions!
Hey, I'm Matt Gibson and I am from California, longing for something more. The books I read and write are my way of escaping boredom and stress of real life. I happened to be looking for some groups to join and this one I think will help me become a better writer.
Hey Matt! I'm glad your in our group! My name is Nicole, and I read for about the same reasons! I love young adult fiction, and thought this group would be great. So far, it has been!
Gutentag!I am Ryann Woods (a girl) and currently living in Germany! I read mostly YA literature since I AM a YA and I really enjoy reading books. So, my friend invited me and here I am!
I hope this will be fun!
I'm a former YA librarian, and I'm glad to hear that some YAs still love to read! I belong to a real-live book club of librarians who read YA Lit and meet once a month to discuss it. We recently read Hunger Games, too.I mostly read to escape Reality TV!
Hi! I'm a 20-something that still loves young adult books. I've recently decided to ramp up my reading. I really enjoy retold fairy tales and strong female characters. I have a blog dedicated exclusively to Children's and Young Adult fiction. http://emilysreadingroom.blogspot.com/
Hi, all!! I'm a 28 year old accountant from the Seattle area. I love to read (especially YA). I'm looking forward to reading and discussing great books!
Hi everyone! My name is Keyona and I'm 22 from NY. When I was younger I used to read at least 4 books a week and recently I've gotten back into YA fiction. I remembered how much fun it was. YA fiction has certainly evolved alot since I was a teen. The books are alot more edgy and deal with a lot of teen issues that were barely ever put in books when I was younger. So who says you have to be a teen to enjoy them :) I'm joining this club to share my thoughts on YA books and series I've read and to learn about new ones.
