Hello,I'm Ann and I'm so happy to see this group! I love GoodReads and have recently discovered the groups to be my new obsession! ;) I adore good YA books, and can't wait to join in on the discussions!:)
Greetings! I'm Kathryn. I'm 27 but I favor YA books--mostly because they just seem so refreshing and interesting and different compared to a lot of "grown-up" books. I read a lot of the "classics" in YA fiction in my teen years, "Little Women," LM Montgomery, etc. Currently, I tend to gravitate toward fantasy (I just don't dig YA novels set in traditional high schools or modern troubled-teen settings and the like). I used to read some YA historical fiction in my teen years, too, but have got away from that for some reason. Am excited to see the posts regarding that genre; maybe it will reignite my interest. Looking forward to learning about some new-to-me books and participating in some great discussions on this site. Thanks to the founders for creating it! :-)
Hey everyone, I figured that I should formally introduce myself. I am Candace. I joined this group almost 3 weeks ago. This is the first group that I signed up for and I must say I believe I chose wisely! I am 29, a wife and a mother of three living in Utah. I grew up hating to read but as with years comes growth and I have found that I absolutly love to read. I am not a great or speedy reader so I find that YA books fit my knowledge at the present time. I am trying to venture out but have found that I actually love YA books the more I venture.
Fantasy Is my favorite genre. I just finished Fablehaven (book 1) and am currently reading the Narnia series.
If there is any other information about me that you might want to know all you need to do is ask. I love to make new friends and read all the comments from everyone in these discussions. You guys ROCK!!!
I hope you guys find some great book through this group. Candace, I used to live in Utah and really enjoyed it. Infact, the author of Fablehaven is from Utah, right? My mom was in B&N and the author was there signing books!
That is awesome that you all are Utahns! or atleast were at some point. Hey once a Utahn always a Utahn.
I'm fairly new to this group so I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I am a middle school media specialist in small town WI. I really enjoy YA lit and love it when my students get in to books I recommend. I have far to many favorites to mention here. I like most genres but I tend to gravitate towards fantasy and humorous coming of age type stories (think John Green and Jordan Sonnenblick.) I'm always looking for new and interesting books so I'm pretty excited about this group!
Hello everyone! My name is Melanie and although I am not a teen or technically a young adult I enjoy reading these books very much.
I am a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters and have been with my "little" for 3 years now. She is 13 and I am always looking for new books to read with her to help her discover the joy of reading. I also tutor children through my local school district in reading and language arts.
I am excited to be part of this group and look forward to meeting many of you.

I like just about every genre except Non-fiction..that's about it(unless you want to hear all the details)
Hey, I'm Neha and reading is how I learned English. Now, I read a book a day. Who would have guessed they're so addicting?
Hi all! I'm a 28 year old IT Consultant and an avid reader (aspiring writer). I have read everything I can get my hands on since I can remember, its one of my favorite escapes from reality. I tend to favor fantasy/suspense and am currently reading the Twilight series (just finished the third book this morning; I'm a little late to the Twilight party, I know!). I've actually never been a part of a bookclub, so I am excited to join the group!
Hi, my name is Rachael. I'm eighteen and I love YA books. I plan on becoming a librarian and starting January seventh, I am going to college. My favorite books are The Book Thief, A Great and Terrible Beauty, and City of Bones.
Hello, I go by Jorgie, I am a teacher trainer. I worked for 10 years as a Junior High Teacher and always loved reading and recommending books for YA. Just want to stay in the loop as far as what YA are reading.
Hello! Remember if you want to add any books to the master list that you think others might like be sure to do it! We haven't had any new books on there for a while!
Hi my name is Brittany. Im a junior in high school. I love to read. Sometimes it can be kind of a problem. You know how that goes things need to get done but ur just in a really good part in a book so what do you do but go read it. Im excited to see how this whole book club thing works. Never been in one before.
Hi, I'm Andrea the author of The Drama Unfolds. My 2nd book is due to come out very soon. It is a children's book. I enjoy reading and writing. I do not have a favorite genre. I dabble in just about anything. Take care & happy reading.
Welcome! Brittany I hope you have fun with the group reads! Andrea be sure to mention your book in our author's section!
Hello all! I joined this group for various reasons: (1) I love reading (though I admit I rarely read for pleasure when I was in college), (2) I am constantly looking for the next best teen book to read and recommend to my middle school students, and (3)I will finally be able to discuss what I've read with others who might actually be interested.
I love books and often neglect other aspects of life so that I can keep reading. I think I am a book addict but I refuse to go to rehab for it! I just recently admitted to myself how much I love YA literature. I can't wait to get good advice about books from all of you out there!
Hi! Welcome guys! I have found all kinds of new YA lit with our group reads that I wouldn't have read otherwise. Hope you guys find good books also!
Hello! My name is Yasmin, and I'm in middle school. I love reading all kinds of books, young-adult books included.
Howdy! Im Jamie, as you can see... uh, not too be confused with the Jamie from above. I guess this might get a little confusing me joining this group too... eh, we'll manage.Anyways, I'm 13, and I like supernatural and thriller sort of stuff, but really anything will please me. I'm a big fan of Scott Westerfeld and Stephen King.
Welcome Jamie! I too love Stephen King and wish he would write a scary YA novel that would be so fun!
Hi everyone! I'm from Phoenix, Arizona. I love to read, but the only books I have been reading lately are books that I've already read. I love those books and I love re-reading, but I'm looking for something new. I enjoy fantasy books the most. I'm addicted to Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and The Lord of the Rings, but I hate the Narnia books and The Inheritence Cycle. I do know those aren't really YA books, but I joined this group to see what YA books are out there that people are reading.
Hi, I'm Jen - 30(something) mom of 2 boys. I love to read, and for some reason have always been drawn to YA lit, even as an adult. It always seems to have the freshest ideas and the deepest messages. It puts in mind a quote from my favorite author, C.S. Lewis: ""A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest." Looking forward to reading with you!
Hello, I'm Adrienne, 13 years old. I love to read and write. My favorite author is Patricia Reilly Giff, and favorite book is either The Book Theif or Tuck Everlasting. I like cows, pigs, elephants, and rats. :P lol and ummmm ... I really, really, really like to write, and can be serious when need be. Unfortunatly that 'need' is not very often ... :D
Hi! Feel free to share your thoughts on the Book Thief, we had it as a book club pick once and you can add your thoughts to the discussions!
Jamie wrote: "Hii People! My name is Jamie, and I am ... female? I prefer not to give out my age online, but I'm in my teens. I love YA, and to tell you the truth I've read/am reading/plan on reading many of ..."
Hi! My name is Celeste. I noticed a lot of people in the Young Adult book club aren't in their teens, but I am (like Jamie, up there). And like Jamie I love to read. We seem to have a lot in common. I read about a book a day, which is more than anyone I know personally. My favorite YA authors include Scott Westerfeld, M.T. Anderson, and Ellen Hopkins.
Hey everyone I'm Molly. Im fairly new to goodreads. I'm 17 and I am a senior in highschool. I love reading and writing (mostly fiction). My favorite YA book, and also my favorite book in general, is the giver. I would love to read this book again or any of the books that follow it.
It is great to have some teens in the group! I am looking forward to seeing what your opinions are on the books we read! Welcome!
Hi everyone, I'm Jenny and have been on goodreads for a little while now but have just recently gotten involved in some of the book groups on here. I'm a teacher and have taught fifth grade, sixth grade, and am currently teaching fourth grade. I love reading YA books and Children's books. Roald Dahl was my favorite author as a child and I often choose one of his books every year to read to my classes. I have such a long list of favorite books and authors I couldn't possibly start to name them all. I'm excited to read The Chocolate War this month and the other books to follow.
Hi, my name is Jonathan Bernstein. I have a superhero YA book called Hottie coming out on Razorbill in April. It's about a popular Beverly Hills High student who goes in for experimental cosmetic surgery. Which has one small side effect: whenever she gets mad or excited or upset, flames shoot out of her fingers.I'm interested in finding out what everyone else is reading and finding out their recommendations.
Hi! I am a fifth grade reading teacher (four blocks, total of 100 students) in Texas. I LOVE YA literature, and think they are some of the best books to hook kids into the joys of reading. When I am not busy teaching (it is a 24/7 occupation), I am also mom to three boys and wife to one big boy (15 years married). My three (younger) boys love to read. We have a dog and a cat, and like to go camping when we can. I look forward to reading and learning from everyone on here!
