Shea Hi everyone!

My name is Shea and I'm 25 years old. I work in the adult ficiton dept of a public library so I have the opportunity to read lots of books. I enjoy reading a little of everything, YA fiction included. I look forward to good discussion with the group.

Lacey | 12 comments Hi Im Lacey. I love reading and riding horses. I mostly read fantasy and YA. Every once in awhile maybe a paranormal romance. I love discussing books and horses so hit me up if you want to chat!

message 653: by Jade (new)

Jade (jadehearsvoices) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Jade and I'm 25 and an Aussie. I love YA so much that I spend my days mashing my face into my keyboard (or alternatively trying to write YA stories myself).

I have a soft soft for paranormal, but I also love dystopian and a bit of contemporary.

I'm loving this place and wish that I'd checked it out earlier.

message 654: by Alice (new)

Alice Hello,

I suppose I am a "young adult" being 25 years old. I'm new here at goodreads. I hoped to find a couple active book clubs that would catch my interest. I'm having the worst time find any in real life.

I can't read any of the books being read, until my real life is a little more on track. I just started a new job, so I have to wait for the money flow to come back before I can be buying new books or paying off my library fees. Oops.

message 655: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Thomas | 1 comments First of all, I am not a writer like many of you. I have thought many times that I should write, but have never made the time to put it on the line! I applaud those of you who do and have the vision to get your work to press. I have been a high school librarian in a small rural community for almost 30 years. I am constantly in search of recommendations to inspire my teen readers to develop the love of reading. Looking forward to the book of the month!

Lauren⁷ 💜 (lrc123) | 5 comments Hi all.

I'm Lauren and i'm 17. I do do some writing, primarily poetry and the occasional story. I love, love, love, love (multiply that times a million) to read. I'm homeschooled, so i can devote basically as much time as i want to reading. Which is to say between %85-90 of my time. Some of my most favorite YA books include, the Inheritance cycle, Twilight, Gossip Girl, the Blue Bloods books, among others. If you want to be friends, just send a request my way.

message 657: by Francie (new)

Francie (love_francie) Hey everyone!! I'm Frances and I'm a 24 yr. old Navy Wife (soon to be 25 years old, ugh). I really love YA books. I sorta strayed from when for awhile..but found my way back once all the fanatsy/PNR books came out. I'm always looking for more recommendations, so if you have any..please let me know. And send a friend request too!! =D

Emma | 1 comments Hi my name is Emma. I'm 16 and new to goodreads. I can't wait to start reading and discussing =]

message 659: by shawn (new)

shawn (goreylipstick) | 1 comments My name is Shawn and I'm an aspiring writer. As of recently, I've been getting back into writing with a couple month hiatus. I never used to read that much - I hated writing but I started loving it five(almost six) years ago. So, uh.

Hi.

message 660: by A (new)

A (aarrghhh) | 46 comments Hi! I left for a while--too many posts to read! But the group voted for Poison Study this month and won me back :D

I am an adult reader of YA (I belong to a face-to-face group called YA Book Council) and also a bookseller. I wish these had been around when I was a YA! I'm 31 now.

I respond yes to almost all friend requests (unless it doesn't look like we have reading interests in common, or it's just an author trying to sell me a book I have zero interest in). So add me! http://www.goodreads.com/frootjoos

Grace (gdaminato) | 520 comments Angie wrote: "Welcome everyone! So glad you are here!!!"

Hi, I'm Grace and I'm new to Goodreads as well as to this group. I'm a mother of 3 and grandmother of 2. I read almost anything but I've always loved children's and YA literature. I often discuss the books I've read with my teenage grandson. It's a good way to connect. Of course, it helps that he likes to read; he's introduced me to some books I probably would never have considered reading.

I won't become involved in all discussions but I will drop in every now and again to see what's happening.

message 663: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinawoytasczyk) | 8 comments Hey everyone! I'm Tina and love YA books, always have! I'm 27 years old and very proud to browse in the YA section at Barnes and Noble!!! I read every chance I get, my new co-workers have gotten used to seeing me with a book in my hands at lunch and know not to bother me unless they wanna talk about what I'm reading. I'm always looking for new goodreads friends, send me an add request!!

message 664: by Keltie (new)

Keltie Nylund (keltiebritt) Hi-ya! The name is Keltie. My middle name is Britt, not Brittney. My last name is Nylund, pronounced ni lund. I'm fifteen years of age. My birthday is September 1st, 1994. I'm a freshmen at Columbine High School. My best friend happens to be my boyfriend of 5 almost six months. I'm an older sister of two girls. I live in Littleton, I LOVE reading, but that's kinda obvious since I have a goodreads page. English is my favorite subject in school. One day I'd like to become a techer or a psychologist. I love classic movies, but also new ones with classic tales to it. But my favorites are the new Alice In Wonderland, Up, Ratitouilli, Fight Club, Julie and Julia, or anything by Tim Burton. I love art. Especially from Alex Pardee, and Tara McPhearson. I love, love, love music. I'm obsessed with the bands Brand New, 30 Seconds To Mars, A Day To Remember and The Devil Wears Prada. I'm good with my studies, I just refuse to do homework. My heros are my English teacher, my daddy, my grandmother, my bestfriend, my sister, and my friends mother. I've been called mature for a freshmen, but in my spare time I have the maturity level of a seven year old or so I've been told ( I act like one too ;) but that's really only if I know you well. I love snow and rain. I hate heat but love summer. I like to dress up, but I can't because I have no where to really dress up. I also happen to love writing. I really need to get back into that. But that's who I am (:

message 667: by AH (new)

AH Hi. I just realized that I have not yet introduced myself. I was too busy getting lost for hours on this website looking at all of the wonderful lists of great books to read and all of the wonderful groups I could join. I am a mom with 3 boys, 2 teenagers and 1 pre-teen.

I am not a YA, but I absolutely love YA books. It all started with Twilight (groan if you must), then onto City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass. I then discovered the Hunger Games, Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series, the PC/Kristen Cast Series, Vampire Academy, Hush Hush, Beautiful Creatures.....

I enjoy the monthly book discussions. Thank you for introducing me to Maria Snyder's Poison Study.

That's it for me....

message 668: by Briar (last edited Mar 12, 2010 01:01AM) (new)

Briar (briar-belle) My name is Persephone and I write books for entertainment. I attend high school and am currently attempting to write several novels at once without thinking of more to start. Its difficult.

I used to read when i was much younger but, in short, had been bored by it when no other kids my age were reading at my level. I feel in love with reading when i first started high school, five years ago. You can't stop me now.

Percy

Are your kids readers too? My son is almost 14, and he's a big reader. It's so cool to discuss the books while he's deciding what to read next. (He never takes my suggestions - he IS a teenager...)

My older 2 boys (16 and 13) don't read a lot. In fact, they might read 1 or 2 books a year. My youngest son (10) started reading a lot this year. He began with the Percy Jackson series (he is on book 3). He wanted to sign up on Goodreads to keep track of all of his Garfield comics. I'll make a reader out of him yet......

message 678: by Kayzee (new)

Kayzee | 180 comments lol well i only read at primary school and then I never really read any thing till last year and I was like 23 lol so sometimes it takes a while to get a reader but my 6 year old loves to read.

Annalie *Dandelion* St. Clare (AnnalieStClare) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Annalie, and I'm a 14-year-old girl that lives in Oregon. In the past few years, I've really gotten into reading and writing literature, so when I found this club, I knew that it was perfect for me.
I started reading more in a more a few years ago after I finished the Harry Potter series, and have loved reading books ever since. My favorite genres are YA, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, mystery, thriller, drama, and all of those books that leave you amazed long after you read the last page.
I'm also working on a story of my own. I posted it on the writing area of the site. Please look and comment/suggest if you get the chance.
I just joined and don't have many friends on the site, so please feel free to send a request! I'm looking forward to being a part of this group...

~Annalie

Well... starting to be moody :)
8th grade (13-14) is much worse.

message 697: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 22, 2010 05:42AM) (new)

Hello, my name is Emma Filetti. I'm 13, and live in the spooky hills of Virginia. I'm the oldest of 7 children. I love to read anything YA Paranormal, and I also love Historical Fiction. I love writing stories myself, and have a few.

My mom's a YA writer, and she just finished a Middle-Grade story, which I love to read also. She hasn't been published yet and is working very very hard to raise 7 kids and try to find an agent for her books at the same time. So if there are any agents that like to agent YA Paranormal or Middle-Grade books, or if any of these authors on here who wouldn't mind letting their agents look at a book, please e-mail me on here (on goodreads). I will pass the info to my mom if someone e-mails me (on goodreads). My mom and I would be so very grateful.

As much as I love to read, I probably can't read everything that this group is suggesting :(. As long as it’s some what clean, I can probably read it.

I look forward to this group, and can't wait to read some new books! :)

message 698: by Kari (new)

Kari | 1 comments Hello! My name is Kari and I love, love, love to read! I'm 28 and I honestly didn't enjoy reading YA novels until a couple of years ago. Of course my husband likes to give me grief about this. I'm thinking about becoming a writer, and have some ideas I'm mulling around in my head. I have always had an overactive imagination, so how can I not succeed? Haha! Hard work will help too...

I read EVERYTHING(but anime & mystery) & have a soft spot for YA novels.Good thing i look like i'm 14 or i'd be getting weird looks at my local teen library like im some pedo trying to seduce pre-pubescent boys with Captain Underpants.

Mariah (mapping_stars) | 2 comments Hey everybody!
I'm Jeanne, 19, from "up North" in the United States. Yes... I'm aware that I'm being rather vague.
I'm one of those people who's been a bookworm their whole life. =) Lately though, my time for reading has lessened DRASTICALLY due to life (UGH) but thankfully this site has helped me find some new material for my bookshelves... much to my wallet's dismay!

So wonderful to find an active YA community here!
