I'm reading the serie very slowly because I like it! & today I started
. I love reading all your posts, they're full of good ideas.
last two were: oresama teacher and beauty popsadly, oresama teacher is still ongoing with the last volumn but beauty pop was great! XD
Good choices, Holly. ^.^
The last two manga I read were Death Note 9 and My Little Monster 1.

I want to start a discussion of Finished Mangas. There are good manga out there that are still going, but to my taste are a little short and I'm not a fan of waiting a month to get a chapter.

so I read the chapter before the newest chapter update. LOL

a lot of anime updates once a month
but better than stopped update.
there is also a lot of good manga that's already completed
such as kyou koi wo hajimemasu, tonari no atashi, kaichou wa maid sama, etc

Maid Sama is a Classic but not amazing.
and
Checked Fruits Basket out at the library. I had most the series long ago but sold them since most of them were damaged. I got them second hand from a friend. Thinking of getting the Collector's Edition of the series. :)
I got Kamisama Vol. 1 for the group read and glad I did now I want to collect the whole series. xD
Last two manga's I read:
Just recently bought it last month from Tsutaya and decided to read it this week.
Pretty intense stuff. Expecting many plot twists going forward [volume 2 preview spoiled one].
Eh, I hate when the arcs continue into another volume.
The last two Shoujo were Horimiya and Behind the Scenes.
Doubt is great, but I liked the second part of the series, Judge, the best (6 volumes). Definitely check it out if you get a chance!I only just got into shoujo to be honest. Right now I'm working through sensual phrase, which I think may actually be joesei. Also working through sailor moon for the first time. Artwork is absolutely amazing
I last read Eureka Seven volume: 1, and Assassination Classroom volume: 5. Both amazing volumes that have pulled me into the storylines and make me want more. Any recommendations?
@AnthonyDefinitely check out my hero academia, it's excellent! I'm also currently reading 6000, which is more a psychological/horror manga, but the suspense and pacing is excellent, so give it a try too if you can.
Anthony wrote: "...recommendations?"Magus Bride mentioned above by Miku is a very safe bet I would say; majestic art, sweeping story, some magic abilities, and an interesting supernatural underbelly hidden in the real world for you and the lead female character to discover.
You'll probably like Steins;Gate in whatever format you can participate with it in as its a science mystery thriller (started as a visual novel, became an anime, has manga volumes). And everyone absolutely must read Nichijou volume 1 for dumb comedy fun. =)
For people new to Shoujo or cautious to it, I would suggest maybe a comedy series like Nozaki-Kun that's published in a Shounen magazine, but about the main character being a mangaka who makes Shoujo manga. I think that was where I learned the term Shoujo.
I noticed My Little Monster mentioned above, and that's one of the better Shoujo first volumes (well, at least first episodes, I watched the Anime). Horimiya also packs a lot in its first two volumes. Just forewarning, those are both slice of life, not action series.
Those all actually sound quite interesting. I've only been reading manga since around 2005. I've been watching anime since around 1996. But as I got older and didn't always have access to tv as I did books, the manga slowly took over. Aside from what was all printed in Weekly Shonen Jump I always read Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, One Piece, Yuyu Hakusho and most manga around that nature. But after years of the same stuff I'm definitely looking to branch out to newer stuff. I really want to look into Deadman Wonderland, Sword Art Online, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and a few others. But I will have to look into Steins;Gate and My Little Monster though. Thank you. :)

It starts a bit slow, slice of lifey, but turns into something special (at least for me). I recommend either the anime (up on Funimation streaming for free) or game (purchasable as a PS3 / Vita or PC game; some library systems may even have a copy of the PS3 version or the anime show), but any way you can participate with the series is great.
If you're an FMA fan, you might want to check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (it's an anime remake of FMA, but has the manga ending, which is very different from the original anime series; it's basically 5 whole new seasons of content).
I've only been watching anime / reading manga the past few years, so I have over 20 years of my life of not watching anime to catch back up on. xD
FMA Brotherhood was good. It's one of the few series that I was sad to see end. If you'd like I can give you a long list of anime to check out. Not very genre loyal as by this time I have literally seen dozens. I'm going to the library tomorrow to see if they have more stuff than last time. Hopefully they can do like you all said and order them from other branches.

For classics, I've seen all of Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Laggan, Berserk, Code GEASS, most of FLCL, and I spoiled most of the relevant clips of Evangelion. I kind of like shows that have some relationshippy stuff, even if just a very small element, or stuff that is just laugh out loud funny (Nichijou, Nozaki-Kun).
One thing I could actually use is some help with some of my Listopedia thingies. I have one for "Manga that don't have anime adaptations" (because those are what I'm mostly seeking out) and one for the volumes where the Manga picks up after an unresolved anime series / anime original ending. Shoujo has a lot of series that haven't been adapted yet.

I just finished Strobe Edge and it was fantastic! I stayed up all night finishing the last 8 volumes and the ending was so satisfying. I'd say it was pretty standard fare shoujo but wonderful to read nonetheless. The male lead was very handsome, great character model, and the female lead was adorable. I definitely recommend the series to anyone who likes angst with a satisfying ending !

I was kicking myself a bit for picking up the latter as it has an anime adaptation inbound apparently (generally just watch the TV version and only pick up the manga out of curiosity's sake from a library or glance through it in store).
Just caught up on One Punch Man, very silly, and fun, and I'm totally gonna try an easier version of Saitama's workout!
Amazing. Every adult manga fan should read this Seinen. It'll stick with you I think, and it makes for good rereads because the format is a bit disorganized in terns of time from page to page.
Awful.
The last two were Assesination Classroom
and Vinland Saga Omn. 3
Both really good, especially Vinland!!! And definitely I will continue reading them :)
I'm reading this depressing book.Solanin
And this is next.
Goodnight Punpun Omnibus (2-in-1 Edition), Vol. 1
I really liked Nijigahara, so I decided to look into more Asano works. The opening pages of Punpun are bizarre (is that a bird attending classes?).
Read this horror seinen about a class that gets thrown into a game of final destination based on popular vote in class. It's a bit gruesome at times.
Also finished Pluto volume 1 for the Seinen book club.
Next is the two Shoulder a Coffin Kuro and then a short reread / glance over of Behind the Scenes Volume 1 for our group.
Just finished reading Noragami vol. 16 and Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) vol. 22. Akatsuki no Yona is currently my favorite manga series!
Last two I read were
Stardust Wink - I’m Anna. I’m 14 years old and I’ve just entered the ninth grade. Sou and Hinata, who live in the same apartment complex as me, are my childhood friends and we’re all the same age. I thought that from now on we’d become even closer friends, but then Sou suddenly did that to me…!!
Shiawase Kissa - Takamura Uru takes her mother’s remarriage as an opportunity to strike out on her own and begin a part time job. Filled with the thought of “If only I could make someone happy…”, she begins working at Café Bohneur, a shop famous for cakes; but the employees, Ichirou-kun and Shindou-san, turn out to be incredibly unsociable. These two, though frightening at first glance, begin to change something inside of her. This is the start of a romance about Uru’s search for happiness.

I really enjoyed it. It's one of those friendship stories, but it feels a little different. :)
